I remember the original Phantom Of The Opera with Michael Crawford as the Phantom. When I heard him the first time, I was more than a little shocked…who would’ve thought, THAT voice could come out of “Frank Spencer”…🤯 Frank Spencer was the titular character in “Some Mothers Do ’Ave ‘Em”, a half hour British comedy that ran from 15th February 1973 to 25th December 1978. Starring Michael Crawford as Frank, a hapless, not so bright fella that was always in some kind of trouble, and Michele Dotrice as his long suffering wife, Betty. Two phrases entered the vernacular as a result of the show…”Oooh Betty” and “The cat did a whoopsie in my beret”… 🤣 🙃🐨🇦🇺

Unlike others I've seen in comments on just about every reaction, I like Dragica's voice for this song quite well. I don't actually think that she and Dan really blend that well, in the long run, but I definitely DO like her voice. Also, DON'T APOLOGIZE for your own singing! You did a fine job--especially with not feeling all that well, and a problem with your ear! I was surprised that you were able to hit those notes, and hit them well. OK, then. You were trying to remember the name of the original Phantom. If it's the one from the Broadway show with Sarah Brightman, his name is Michael Crawford. I bought that soundtrack immediately after hearing them and falling in love with the Phantom of the Opera. Although I never got to see the Broadway performance in person, I did catch the off-Broadway performance while I was living in Houston in the early 90s & it was amazing. I love this version by Dan & Dragica, but Dan's version of Music of the Night is still my favorite.

Thanks for fixing the sound issue. I have subscribed now that I can hear the songs better. Call me silly, but I have always felt a little sorry for the females who join him in his duets. IMHO, Dan outsings them every time and he is usually prettier, too! LOL

I’m not a fan of Dragica in this role - good voice, but she doesn’t work for me as the innocent Christine - but Dan’s very good. I’m watching this after The Music of the Night, which, of course, is fabulous. I’ll second a recommendation that’s already been made: if you’re a fan of musical theater, you’ll be knocked out by Dan’s Gethsemane scene from Jesus Christ Superstar. Thanks!
