Thank you so much for your video and channel! It’s so easy for guys to say the material and size used- but they DON’T for some reason. You DID, and it’s a huge timesaver! Again, greatly appreciated 😎
I'm a certified welder. Your welds look fine. You're probably using a small 220 welder so you can't expect them to look like a top dollar machine. When you are welding, pull the arc all the way out of the puddle so it cuts a crater into where you are headed with the weld. Some say push the arc, some say pull, so just whatever works for you. Just don't leave any gas holes or porosity. Cut out porosity and reweld it. Just some tips. Notch the hell out of it. Throw a 10" wheel under it if your building a drag/prostreet car. They just look good like that.
paul87buick thanks!. You gotta start with the right tool. Don’t get a harbor freight crappy welder. Get a Lincoln electric 180 or better. Gotta get good penetration. Home Depot has it for $699. Thanks for liking and watching
Welding isn't just about looks. It's about penetration. You can have a bead that looks perfect but if it didnt penetrate the metal, the weld is useless. I feel like most people go by the looks
Mario Munoz I used 2”. I went to harbor freight and bought 2 engine stands. I put the back wheels on and nothing on the front. By doing that the engine mount will be level to the earth and just weld in the center piece of box tubing. I also extended the back of the engine stands where the wheels went so it won’t tip over. Sorry for the delay been busy
Thank you for the idea of tying in the spring buckets on the frame. Have you had this chassis performing on the street or track? What hp are you running and how did this help with grip / chassis loading (g body shuffle)
Did you get your rims and tires combo ? I notched the frame and removed 1 1/2 for wheel tubs to try to get the biggest rubber I can run? Thanks for sharing your bracing!
Ronald Lewis not yet. They make a tool that mounts to the wheel studs that can get you the widest wheel and also finds the offset and back spacing. As long as you have the body in the car. Thanks a lot for watching
353/5000 good morning dear friend very good your channel would like to know what diameter of tubbo you use to reinforce the chassis and what thickness of how many millimeters, and that you suggest me to reinforce a chassis of malibu more than everything in the area of the cradle of the engine contracts the chassis closes a bit what ideas can you suggest my dear .. and I await your response
DJ ANDREW torres on the rear round dom tubing I used 4.7625 mm thickness and 1 1/2 tube. In the tube closest to the body I used 3.175 mm thickness tubing and 1 1/2 inch. For all the rest of the medal the thickness is also 3.175 mm
