I think the G5 transformation episode cause of all the other shit bogging it down and reused animation and flashbacks was like a 7/10... this one though this was a full 10/10! The whole thing had me dying how silly it is and Oda wasn't lying when he said he made this form specifically for the anime!

Luffy fruit is limited only by his imagination, and he still think he is gum-gum paramecia so his imagination is limited to this a lot since that's how he fought so far. Imagine if he realise what he could really do.

One Piece is just amazing. 25 years and it just keeps getting better. I haven't seen a transformation so fitting in my life. Its like we went back to pre timeskip Luffy. The joy of the show is BACK!!!

When the sound cuts so you can hear Luffy's heartbeat and he says "beat loudly, heartbeat" and the clap bringing back the drums of liberation gave me literal chills I started watching one piece only a few years ago we had just started wano so I had never gotten to be there when everyone gets to see one of these major turning point moments for Luffy in his struggle against his foes. I felt the moment and I can say definitively this felt like how people felt when they saw Goku go super Saiyan. That moment will be a core memory for the rest of my life. I know the emotions that I'm supposed to feel aren't the same as the first super Saiyan moment, but the energy, the excitement, the feeling of wanting to jump out of the moving car i was in while watching it so i could shout to the world about thr incredible historical moment in anime that i got to experience first hand, not having been years late to the party. I think this episode was nearly perfect from start to finish, and I get the complaints about reusing sound and visual effects from dragon ball, but the majority of sound effects used on cartoon network had been used in many boomerang cartoons before them. I don't really see it as a deal, but then again I haven't watched dragonball by myself I've only ever watched it pieces at my buddies place 😅. I grew up really enjoying johnny test as well and that show had a sound effect for literally everything, and is notorious for its use of the whip sound.

Let's not forget how far zunesha is from wano cause shanks was able to send haki to greenbull over that distance is crazy

I didn't realize while reading the manga that the luffy was still in giant form when Kaido smashed his face through the roof. Perspective wise, after he teleports, compared to Luffys' head, it makes that much more impressive

There was a couple scenes that made it look like luffy was connecting to something and I’m guessing that “mother flame” connects to that energy in a similar way

Loved the ep but still got Zoro vs King as my favourite Wano ep. My only reason for this is that King vs Zoro felt like a battle with a true climax yet this ep was hype but didn't have the same impact on me. In terms of how I see characters this ep was hype but didn't feel like the impact was there. It had me laughing and smiling while watching but couldn't get me swinging around a sword listening to the eps soundtrack like Zoro vs King did. I'd personally argue that Zoro vs King was closer to breaking the internet.

That moment at 3:00 when he *almost* disappears into the flash of lightening but you get to see just enough for that satisfying :POOFT: into the clouds might be my favorite little addition made by the animators. It's just delectable.

I dont really think luffy can copy DFs, i think its more a visual comparison to show G5 can bounce AS fast as Kizaru's lazers, like homie bounces 4-5 times like a superball down that arch, and his "bellomy" style attack is identical (at least his legs inflating) to when he used to pump to turn on G2, so rather than copy DFs i think it's just highlighting the zaniness of g5

This was even better than i thought it would be. I really liked 1071 but this was on another Lvl. Sound design top tier, so many animation styles. The sonic reference was awesome. Kaido and his dialogue is good, still strong speed blitzing Luffy. 1072 was Incredible.

What's cool is how they darkened the shading on kaido to make luffy seem that much brighter. Seriously, rewatch the episode, focus on kaido's coloring. He's significantly darker than he's normally drawn.

Im loving the sound effects with gear 5, you can tell they dug into that tom and jerry/Otsomatsu-kun bag, my only complaint would be they dont let certain sounds linger and repeat them too quickly (like when Luffy is bam-baming kaido last episode) That and they dont linger on the goofy cartoon "consequences" (like kaido and luffy being burnt and coated in soot) as long as old cartoons, but its hard i imagine to mix those stylings in with the "expected" anime hype that the gear 5 fights need to be
