On your mark ... get set ... GO! The Gemini roller coaster at Cedar Point gives riders an opportunity for bragging rights to the fastest train, as not one, but two trains run simultaneously on parallel tracks and race for a first-place finish. Guests cheer on either the red or blue train down the mammoth first hill, around wide bends and down the famous "low beam" hill that you must experience to believe. Even those who have ridden Gemini 100 times in one day say that no two rides are ever the same.
Gemini has given more rides than any other operating roller coaster at Cedar Point. Since 1978, the twin tracks have taken more than 80 million guests on the ride of their lifetime. In 2005, Gemini gave 1,717,112 rides. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to experience the thrills of the Gemini.

Love this ride....very smooth with lots of hills. One time a few years back, it was near closing time & the operator allowed us to ride it 2x in a row without having to get off......lots of fun!!

This is truly a great ride! Even after 30 years. But when I first rode the Gemini, I heard music in the background and the radio's were playing "Funky Town". Now every time I see Gemini, I think of Funky town as the Gemini's theme. I even listened to the song while watching the video!

Everytime I go to Cedar Point I say I'm not getting on that crazy ride again. That beam is a death trap. And every year I find myself riding the coaster at least 3 times.

That first drop is sooo steep. There is no way this is a family coaster. I find it to be brilliant and smooth for it's age. You have to be on the roller coaster in order to feel that steep drop and fast speed.

On my 2008 calender, This ride is on it, and it said that this ride was the tallest roller coaster in the world when it opened at Cedar Point in 1978...

This is probably the best wooden Coaster in the park! Its not nearly as rough as Mean Streak and it has more airtime! Not to mention it is a racing coaster.

You're right about that, I'm judging it by POV. It really "looks" slow that's more accurate :). Maybe if I would ride in it, I would have a different experience, because cameras make everything look slower. You're right on that.

It's not a wooden coaster. The structure is wood, the rails are steel...it has more in common with Magnum or MF than it does Blue Streak or Mean Streak. Whatever the case...this is a great ride!

This is my favorite ride yet but i've only been riding roller coaster for 2 days. The best spot is the very back on the blue becuase on the first hill you get a lot of air time and going down it almost feels vertical and after about 9 at night they take the brakes of the spirals at the end of the ride and you hit it at about 30 to 40 mph. all together this ride is fun and smooth for a wooden rollercoaster(on steel supports).

This is a sweet ride.....I went on a thursaday and when it got dark before we left we rode it like 10 times in a row because nobody was there (cuz its a weekday)

Not the best ride in the park, but fun anyways. It usually has very short lines, so there really is no excuse why u shouldn't ride it. I loved going around the turns and giving high fives to the train next to u. It was pretty smooth because it is an imitation coaster, wood supports, but steel track.

Oh, an "Oldie, but Goodie"! I remember going to CP the year that the Gemini opened- it's *still* fun as Hell. Too bad, though, that CP is letting the upkeep slip on the older coasters: Pavilions need to be repainted, tracks and railings restained, and for God's sake take the "square wheels" off of the Red Car's trains! Seems like CP is focusing all of their attention and effort only on the "Latest and Greatest", forgetting the classics that CP gained its' initial fame from. What a sad shame!

@SupaAznSaiyan Yeah both of the rides are good for first timers. The mean streak is longer, has a few more drops, and its a little bit faster than the Gemini. Yes, I was scared at first but if you keep riding rides over and over, you can overcome that fear. Throw your hands up and take a deep breath and then scream on drops, works for me. I don't know about the head chopper part, seems like your going so fast that it looks like you might hit your head but you won't hit it.

When I was on this yesterday, they stopped the red train when it was at about 0:49 seconds for about 10 minutes because someone had their cell phone out, and they took it from them. Needless to say, the blue won by far.. hahaha

1 of the wooden roller coasters @ 6 Flags Magic Mountain, the park I go 2 here in California, it's a twin race like this 1. The 1 here in California has a really close idea of this design of how this ride goes. I'ts not exact but it has the same idea

@Kukes9095 normaly the lines are any where from 15-30 minutes long. i have never seen them longer than that. it depends on how busy they are. but on fridays and saturdays shouldnt be more than 20 minutes. Id be suprised if they were. also id recomend riding it at night because the trim breaks are disengaged for a slightly faster ride.

Does anybody notice that the car comes off the track on the steep hills? If you don't believe me, go to the three point shot game across the way and watch the track on the hill, you'll see the separation between the wheels and track.
