Gen 3 vs Photonis Echo very low light 

Exactly, gain isn't everything. The low gain noiseless picture from Photonis show just as much detail as noisier brighter picture from gen3 🤟

@@EagleBayNightSupplies when your eye adapts to the lower image brightness from the echo can you see as much as you can with the l3 tube?

@@EagleBayNightSupplies I paid for 2 photonis echo tubes in a Vyper housing (Katana) at 2200 min FOM. They came in at 2600 FOM. SNRs of 34. ;) Finally, someone gets it!!

​@@bastulainen it shouldn't be too far off, except in extremely low light, but both units need supplemental IR at roughly the same point. L3 because of noise and Photonis because of the picture getting too dim.

Hi! I am using the same pvs14. It's just two different cameras. One is a smartphone (asus zenfone 8) and one is a Sony A7 ii mirrorless camera. The purpose of the video is to show that you can't trust videos or photos from a smartphone because the smal sensor will choke in the lowlight. The Sony Cameras sensor does roughly have the same sensitivity as the human eye so it gives a more "honest" picture of what the tubes actually looks like😊

Gen3 is Omni 8, they don't specssheets. But it holds its own against quite good compared 2200 FOM filmless I compared it to. The Echo has 1956 FOM. Ofc a subpar commercial tube is gonna be blown out the water by a high end gen3 tube... Quite useless comparison if u ask me🤷🏼‍♂️

That shows how good the Photonis really is, doesn't it?

My echo tube performs within 5% of the omni 8 tube in very low light. And it absolutely destroys it in high light. I have done a comparison of a AGM pvs14 with a Russian tube(1600 FOM). And it wasn't even close to my echo with the lowest specs. And that comparison was done high light scenario. The Russian is gonna perform even worse when it gets darker. The Echo does also perform better than katod gen3
