In that case, you know that, under federal law, paying men & women doing the same job, w/the same qualifications, & the same level of experience at a different rate of pay has been illegal since 1963. It's the law. If you've done your research, you know that the whole 71 cents to the dollar thing is largely true, to an extent. But not the way it's usually told. Yes, men make more than women on the whole. But not just because they're men, & definitely not for doing the same exact job as lower paid women. It's because men & women tend to choose different career paths. Men focus more on higher paying careers which keep them away from home longer. Women focus more on careers that will satisfy them while allowing them to have balance in their personal lives. Of course you understand that a kindergarten teacher doesn't make as much as a molecular engineer. Why do you understand these things? Because you've done your research.

As an ordinary woman of the world, I would like to assure you that I am VERY concerned about actresses being paid the same as their male counterparts. The wage gap is relevant at any stage no matter the income.
