Gene has more stars on the Hollywood Walk of fame than anybody else. He has 5 stars One each for records, movies, radio, television, and public appearances. He was a generous man, a war hero, and loved by millions.
Great man, but war hero is a stretch. He was a ferrying squadron pilot ferrying B-17s to England for assignment to bomber squadrons. His service was valuable but I think he’d agree that it wasn’t anything to write home about.
I always enjoyed watching Gene Autry's cowboy movies as a youngster. He is a true gentleman and kind to everyone.RIP Gene Autry. I am now 78 yrs. old and remember the good times of this fabulous cowboy. Gratefully, Robert S.J. HuAloha from Hawaii !!!!!!!!!!! May 5, 2020.
Smiley Burnett, Gene Autry’s side kick, and member side kick hall of fame. Gene was a C 109 tanker pilot over the Himalayas to supply operations in China. U.S. Army Air Corp.
A friend of my mother claimed to have dated him, and said that he was quiet and even shy. Brought his guitar with him, she thought, so he could hid behind it.
He was so decent he made passes at all his leading ladies, had a ten-year affair with Gail Davis, AKA Annie Oakley, even though he was married thru out all his affairs. He even traveled promoting her show staying in the same room. He never had to worry about getting them pregnant because he was sterile. But he got payback with his 2nd wife, Jackie, ever know why she had never been married at her age when he married her. Take a good look at her, she married him for money.
@@chriskroll4166 110% sure do the research yourself. He knew he could never get a woman pregnant so look up the reason why that was. Too many leading ladies said he did and Gail Davis wrote about it plus all the people that worked in the hotels they booked in the same room when they promoted her show. He was NOT what you saw on the screen.
Gene was my Dad's Uncle. He would even babysit Dad as a young boy. He tried to get Dad into a new series, "The Little Rascals" But my Dad was a very shy boy and didn't accept the part.
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me.

Got a brief chance to talk to Mr Autry while his limo was pulling out after a 1986 playoff game at Fenway Park in Boston. Red Sox had just beaten his Angels in game 6, but he couldn't have been more pleasant, stopping the limo to chat with us fans. He lit up when I told everyone it was "The Singing Cowboy". One very nice man.
Do you hear how the crowd enthusiastically applauds the movie clips? That is because they were allowed to see them. It is a courtesy that we are not afforded here.
Never met this man but have read from many sources that he was one of the nicest most generous down to earth genuine people you could ever meet. This man according to people who knew him well did not have one mean bone in his body and what you saw is what you got with Mr. Autry. He loved and served his Country and was a faithful and true Family man right down to his cowboy boots. He is the kind of person I would loved to have met and maybe sit down and just talk about life for a couple of hrs. I believe I would come away a lot richer I don't mean about money but about life would have truly loved to have met him.
He appeared in the Wide Wide World episode because of so many TV westerns being shot at the Melody Ranch location. John Wayne was one of the actors who appeared. The name of the film where he fought Roy Rogers was the Old Corral. Roy did appear in the Big Show which was filmed partially at the Texas Centennial. Roy was then part of the Sons of the Pioneers. John Wayne's singing voice was dubbed by a Bill Bradley, brother to Bob Steele. Bradley was not a member of the Sons of the Pioneers.
The Cowboy Code By Gene Autry 1. The cowboy must never shoot first, hit a smaller man, or take unfair advantage. 2. He must never go back on his word, or a trust confided in him. 3. He must always tell the truth. 4. He must be gentle with children, the elderly, and animals. 5. He must not advocate or possess racially or religiously intolerant ideas. 6. He must help people in distress. 7. He must be a good worker. 8. He must keep himself clean in thought, speech, action, and personal habits. 9. He must respect women, parents, and his nation's laws. 10. The Cowboy is a patriot. Gene Autry's Cowboy Code was written for all of his young fans that wanted to be just like him. And in my opinion a much better set of guidelines to live by than any religious lists.
I've always heard that Gene Autry was a distant relative of mine my great grandmother is Samantha Pearl Autry from Gleason Tennessee (Weakley county) my grandmother Ruby Mae Higgins is her daughter, Gene Autry (Orvon Grover Autry) Grandfather Elijah Autry was from Carrol county Tennessee right next door to Weakley county he moved to Texas sometime in the mid 1800's one of his son's name was Delbert who's son was the singing cowboy 🤠 himself (my middle name is Gene) Gene was born in 1907 my Grandmother Rubye in 1908 I looked it up on family tree, Greetings from Memphis 🎸
Very nice man. Hugely successful career that is, somehow, pretty much forgotten. He learned to ride, I have heard after he started in films. Managed to become competent. But his forte was singing and one of the top all-time recording artists.
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer! It’s a song that holds the same place as the Christmas tree itself. It’s practically impossible to think of one without the other!😊
You're absolutely right.... Good evening Chris how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made.

I edited out the clips because otherwise the entire video would have been blocked by the clips’ copyright owners. Which is what happened when I uploaded an earlier version with the clips included.
God bless Gene Autry , my mom loved you . He was a really down to earth man . He wrote a song that will be listen to forever , Rudolph the red nose reindeer . ❤️Tommy John ... now a lot of pitchers have Tommy Johns surgery .
You're absolutely right....Good evening Elizabeth how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a lovely day that the lord has made.
I may have missed something, but think he said in this interview Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer sold 12 million copies up to that point. I just asked the Alexa device how many it’s sold and I got 12.5 million copies. It’s interesting to me it’s “only” sold 500K more copies since 1982. 🙂
