I met Gene back in '93. I pulled out my camera to take a picture, his body guard said 'NO PICTURES'...Gene told him to stand back and let me take as many as i wanted. He may have an ego, but no doubt loves his fans.
@King Sting and the Murder Hornets If i have a huge band like Kiss and milions of people buy my records and pay tickets to see me performing an hour, i personaly would respect that, and even if i dont, they are my customers or clients, and you better be nice to those who give you the money
Here's someone who knows how good he has it here in these United States of America. He's the son of a Holocaust survivor. He was only 8 years of age when his mom brought him here & didn't speak any English at the time.
he may love the money he has and an asshole to alot of the media outlets. but the dude knows where that cash came from. and legit loves the fans. they put him in the spot he wanted. and helped him give his mom a better life and made sure his kids had food and a place to sleep. Gene i always have respect for cause he gives it back to us fans!
@@jamesb.9472 Listen to this video. Right around 2:30 or 2:35 he says how old he was when he & his mother moved here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b_WLsKQKrlM.html
What I see here is that Gene is the consummate professional. He is one of the few rockstars who know who butters his bread. He is without ego. Being a nice human. Speaking and interacting with a bunch of diehard fans.
Say what you want about Gene, but this right here is awesome. People don’t realize that Gene does A LOT of nice things and doesn’t ask for a bit of recognition for it. Class act
John Alferio I was just discussing that with a friend 2 days ago. Every encounter since the early 90s has been positive with him. Always a gentleman and always cool.
I totally love Gene, and his story of his childhood, and he and his mom coming to America. He truly has a heart!! Love you much Gene, and thank you for EVERYTHING... .:)
My favorite video of Gene showing how big of a heart he has done was on an episode of his show Family Jewels. In it he takes in some kids for Make a Wish and gave them a bunch of KISS memorabilia, and then he takes one of the kids by the hand and walks him down the hallway. And then him talking about his mother and her love of the USA when they immigrated to the country. I also liked videos he has done for the military. He may be the Demon on stage, but he’s actually an amazing angel.
It’s a thrill of a lifetime when you meet your guitar heroes.. I met Ace Frehley after one of his shows a couple of years ago and I felt like I met a Beatle !! I was on a high for days ..KISS!!🔥❤️😎
Всё верно! Я когда узнал об этом, испытал шок. Обычно, рок-музыканты, это алкоголь, наркотики, секс. А Джим Симмонс выбрал только секс! Браво👏 Долгих лет жизни тебе! Привет из России.
This is a lovely meeting and I agree Gene Simmons is great AND loyal to his fans. And yes, he was good to his Mom. In all fairness, I bet Shannon Tweed, the other "important woman" in his life, would have appreciated the same kindness and committment from her rock star man that he gave to others.
Gene Simmons is a closet intellectual & Talmud scholar. When his reality show went into production, the first thing they did was get the library out of camera range. Don't be fooled by the rock star front.
And how much should these people have to pay to medium and sign all their stuff that's what I'm wondering kiss only loves her fans by offering them something to buy or pay to meet them
When I saw Ace in Cleveland a few years back, there were easily 15-20 people lined up to get something guitar related signed at 500$ a pop. The standard m/g was 300 and there were more than 100 people for that. Maybe even 200. (Do that math - this is almost every night of his tour) I met Ace in the 80s, 90s and 2000s. He never wanted a penny to sign anything and was always cool. I’ve met Gene multiple times and he never wanted money. He is also ALWAYS cool. I think the biggest package from Gene involved $10,000 and it got you in to the pre show acoustic set, a stage played guitar (signed after the show), meet and great, 5 passes, two items signed per person and a hang after the show. We were very lucky to get the royal treatment this particular day. Pic with full band (which doesn’t come with m/g with Paul or Gene, my bud got to bring Ben into the acoustic set to watch his guitar being played. Fran brought Paul’s acoustic out to let Ben play it and let him have as many picks as he wanted (I think he took a total of 2) Gene hung until everyone got their fill and did not say that he had to leave or anything like that. (Thanks Christina!!!) all for about 1/4 of what his normal packages are. Keep in mind that Paul’s go for about 12k and you get about the same experience. We had a stage tour coming, (“for free”) but time literally ran out. We took a pic with Gene after the band pic, and when I tell you we stood and watched the last few pics being taken and they were onstage in 2 minutes, I’m not exaggerating at all. It’s a very well oiled machine. And while I’m sure Paul is super cool with everyone who buys something from him, we literally were not allowed to look at or say anything to him. Can you imagine what a 15 year old child with Down Syndrome would do with Paul standing next to you? Let alone a typical child... Yes, he said “hi Paul” and Paul gave him a glare. I’ve had multiple great outings with Paul and he has also been very cool each time. They are all business now, and on show day, if you don’t pay you don’t play. That’s fair enough. Their core fan base is at the age where most can spring from 2500 to 10k for an experience. This particular day didn’t cost us a cent but I would pay just about anything to have a day like that again for Ben. Gene works from 6am until 1am every single day of his life. This is a fact. The mans time is worth whatever he says it’s worth. There is your answer for everyone who wants to know how much this was and the occasional poster who wants to slam him for wanting money from his fans. Remember, is there was no demand it would not be happening.
