Gene is actually a really sweet guy, he took some time out of his day before a concert to visit a young fan who was in hospital who could not make the show. Gene brought along some sweet merch for the young boy to purchase.
No one really knows this, but in the song Chameleon, Gene wrote part of that song, where it goes "Coma Coma Coma chameleon" part. He did that on the phone too.

Hope he apologized to the interviewer after addressing him in a disrespectful manner with "show us that you know what you're talking about", after discovering that, in fact, the interviewer was correct.
In the words of Dave Chapelle, “ take your chips your gonna crap out”. He reviewed the page, saw it was wrong, sent an email which he verbally articulated to the guy, and expressed his idea and that it was definitely not at the listed price and wanted it immediately changed. If you want him to kiss the guys feet then you’re asking for a bit too much. He did it in his own way, and neither are confused that Gene was wrong, through no fault of his own.

I worked a few Kiss concerts in my life as an IATSE stage hand. in Columbus OH one day Gene was sitting on the dock watching while we were still unloading trucks. He was there most of the day just watching his production and crew that they are paying in action. He is certainly on top of his game.

Gene will not come to your house for $2,000 dollars he offered that for $50,000 and for some reason he decided he did not want to do that anymore. So what he does is he picks a location and tries to get as many people that live in the area that bought the set and you meet him there not at your house. For example I live in central New Jersey if I bought a set Gene would probably be in a town up north by NYC and would probably have around 50 people that live in the area that bought the set to come and meet him there. So he would rent some large conference room at a hotel and all the people would show up to get their set and meet him. He is not going to meet you one on one at your house not for $2,000.
Wrong, Gene has basically been Paul's bitch since the late 1980's. Paul at one point wanted Gene out of Kiss because he was out making movies and producing other acts. Gene basically must have had a major guilt trip for Paul because he always goes along with what Paul says for the most part because he doesn't want to hurt Stanley Eisen's feelings.
Gene's mother was a concentration camp survivor liberated by the US. He immigrated here with her. Openly talks of their love for this Country. Is an enormous supporter of our military personnel past and present. Came here barely able to speak English. Attended college and became a classically trained musician. Worked extremely hard. The rest is history. One of the truest forms of the American dream.
There was a 50k option called The Producer's Experience which was a little more involved than just Gene delivering the boxed set. However, the option was removed from the page because it was creating confusion in the marketplace that the 2K option being offered was 50k.
Not defending him, but if he states, "This is how much X costs." and people willing pay, is that ripping people off? Something is worth whatever people are willing to pay. If the product isn't worth that much, people won't buy it. Capitalism at it's finest.

Gene is his own worst enemy, because he pisses so many people off. But I've seen enough videos of him being sweet to fans or kids, or having some sincere feelings. He's a good guy underneath it all.
In 2018, for $50,000, he would fly to your house and personally deliver the Vault. The $2000 price was for a Vault event in a major city. Gene would perform a songs and stories and still hand deliver the Vault to you. You received about 10-15 minutes of personal time with Gene and were also allowed to bring a guest. He would also sign stuff, take pictures, there was an open bar &food, etc.

Even Paul said he's nothing special when it comes to business. In the eighties he was being carried by all the other band members. He contributed next to nothing worthwhile musically to Kiss and basically took credit for the work of everyone else. If it wasn't for the other guy's, he would have flopped back then and probably made a career flipping burgers at Mc Donalds. Kiss would have been better off getting another bass player back then and luckily Gene was a co-founder of Kiss, because with his attitude, he would never have lasted as long in another band.

He was okay in the seventies, but let's face it, he didn't work on his craft and basically contributed fuck all to the band in the eighties and there were plenty of bass players who would have wiped the floor with him and would have enhanced the Kiss sound of that era. What he did was nothing special and Kiss would have been better off without him. Yet as I said, he took undue credit and enjoyed the fruits of the other guys hard work. If you want to see how much of a self absorbed prick he is, look at live videos from the eighties. When it comes time for Vincent or Bruce Kullick to do their guitar solo's, the camera would always be focused on Gene or Paul. What person in their right mind would defend that? To think that people would want to see him or Paul during a guitar solo? Gtfoh... If I had access to the video footage, I'd re edit it so that Bruce, Eric and Vincent get 70% of the screen time, Paul gets 20%, and Gene only gets 10%, because that's all he deserves. If it wasn't for Paul keeping the Kiss train on track, the band would have died out by the mid eighties. Maybe do your research before licking gene's sack. Also. He doesn't give a shit about his fan's so stop kissing up to him.

I was a KISS fan when I was younger. I guess I still am, but there is something about Gene Simmons the businessman I love just as much if not more. Maybe I'm just getting old. Anyway, it is Great watching him do business. He is the same guy with or without the KISS clothing and makeup.

I find that hard to believe. He said there were a few thousand box sets. I'm not a huge fan either but I think there's a big possibility they could all go, or what if they did? He couldn't deliver that many.

Funny how your timeline is about right for me. I went from having all of their records , riding my bike around with my friend while wearing KISS make-up, Gene Simmons posters on my walls, to selling my entire collection at 11yrs old and moving on to Ozzy, Van Halen, etc. I simply out grew them.

I actually don't think the price he charged was THAT bad. I mean, the fact that you get a ton of exclusive songs, and that Gene hand delivered it was pretty cool for the ultra fan. The average diehard fan of KISS probably grew up listening to them in the late 70's/80's, and is now 50-60 years old, and has the disposable income for something like this. No different than buying a fancy guitar, or some golf clubs. I am surprised Gene didn't offer SOME sort of digital version though.
got to experience gENE RIPPING his bass tech, back in '96....it wasn't pretty....felt really bad for the guy, and lost what little respect i had for gENE, at that point.
