July 1, 1994. Felicia is going to throw Maxie a party and Maxie wants to invite BJ. Felicia breaks the news to her that BJ is dead. Maxie doesn't take the news very well.
Almost 30 years later, and I still ball my eyes out with this story and this scene. GH at its peak!! And my goodness her reaction asking if she said Ty just opens the flood glates 😢😢😢 Robin as little Maxie, what an AMAZING performance!! Can't believe they let this amazing child go, but thank you to the talented people who share these with us, you're SO AMAZING 😍
@crystalmarincola I agree about Robyn Richards wholeheartedly. She should have had the tenure on the show they gave to Kimberly McCullough, another outstanding child actor who grew into a wonderful teen & adult actor and character. Instead they traded what they had for an actor from another soap for no other reason but to get ratings. Since then Kirsten Storms has had nothing but leave of absences while she deals with her weekly "illnesses". But she still has a job & RR is no longer acting. So unfair.
This whole storyline was so beautiful and heartbreaking and filled with amazing acting by every person involved. When people say how silly soaps are, and they definitely are, I think about this storyline and how it raised the bar.
This whole story of BJ & Maxie was in my opinion the best GH has ever done. Right alongside Stone & Robin and the AIDS story. They were both done so heartbreakingly well.
"Did I remember to say thank you?'... OH. MY. GOD. I haven't seen this since it aired the first time and I'm bawling just as much now as I did then............. :(
WOOOOOOW! That little girl did a fantastic job with that scene. Back in the days when they actually put kids on TV who could actually act. Absolutely amazing scene ❤
Ah, man, that was heart-breaking. I hadn't seen that scene since it first aired and it made me cry all over again. That little actress did a great job. I forget sometimes how much I cried over GH. Dominique in 1993, B.J. in 1994, Stone in 1995. Now I couldn't care less.
I just happened to come across this video, I don't know how. I am not a GH soap watcher, but I have to say that, this little girl is one of the best young soap actors I have ever seen! I don't know how she had to prepare or think to pull out these 'raw emotions' she had express in losing her cousin and yet gaining her new heart from her, but this sweet girl pull out all of the top stops and gave her performance of a life time. WOW!
I haven't watched GH in years, and I was trying to find out about some of the cast members that I remembered, so I ended up watching this, and I must say that Felicia did a great job and Maxie was OUTSTANDING!!! After all this time away, they had me crying...sniff sniff.
@@sarahswomley2580not true but I wish it was..Wendy Riche said that Shelly Curtis was married to a cardiologist and this really happened with a patient
And the fact that Wagner and Lindstrom and Zeman are still there, and that Storms has played Maxie for 10+ years...this is why soaps are such a powerful medium. We saw the bus crash, we saw Tony and Bobbie break down and Felicia and Lucy and Ruby and Alan cry with them. ...sniff...
Oh my god that just ripped me apart. tear are definitely flowing right now. this and stones death always got me, I bawled when Robin "died" as well but this just really ripped my own heart in two
I've been watching GH for 45 years and I remember everything! This was one of the saddest storyline ever written in the history of GH!! The death of both Taina & BJ was so heartwarming they were killed off the same exact way Taina by a car accident caused by Corey and BJ was by a school bus accident Miguel Morez Aka Ricky Martin try to save BJ but she was already Brain dead I always said GH was will bring them back from the dead I so love the Jones family Tony, Taina and BJ 💕🙌💯
That would be so beautiful!!!! I can easily picture an adult BJ, screaming, "Daddy" and running into Tony's arms. And Tony finds Tania and they get married in a beautiful ceremony with BJ as maid of honor and Lucas as best man, sort of like what AMC did for Angie and Jesse. I'd love to see that! GOD bless. 😁😁😁
OMG... I was real young when I first saw this, I watched it with a child's perception all those years ago, but to see it as an adult... I'm crying like everyone else here LOL
This is easily in my top 5 fave GH moments. My God...I had NO clue they were going to kill off BJ. IDK if any soap magazines /spoilers announced it ahead of time. If so, I missed it. And I didn't have internet access back then so it was a total shocker. SO gut-wrenching. And Bobbi was off cheating on Tony. What a storyline.
Back then there was no social media, soap mags either came out once a month or 6 times a year. I had a subscription to SOD and by the time I got mine in the mail, the s/l already happened and was always a "re-cap". There were no "spoilers
Felecia was given the ultimate gift: her daughter’s life back, through the incredible generosity of BJ’s family. And then to think Felecia threw it all away by abandoning her girls who had already suffered so much. Felecia was a horrible mother, and there’s nothing more to be said. Thank God Maxie and Georgie had each other, and Mac. RIP Georgie.
No, Felicia did not throw it all away and did not abandon her girls. They were adults, although what they wrote for Maxie makes that statement questionable, for God's sake they were daughters of the police commissioner and their mother was not to blame for being away while this happened, it couldn't have been predicted. Felicia WAS NEVER a horrible mother. There is A LOT more to be said.
@Laura22_new, Felicia did NOT abandon her girls. Felicia was a good mother and there's nothing more to be said. Thank God Maxie and Georgie had Felicia.
@@renealexander2703 Yes she did. She decided playing spy with Frisco was more fun than raising her children. Point blank period. Thank God Maxie and Georgie had MAC, the only stable parent they ever had. As Maxie herself said as her sister’s funeral.
today,Maxie dreams about her death instead of BJ dying. the writers did a fabulous job with this storyline, remembering BJ dying and letting Maxie know what would have happened if Maxie died instead. it made me cry. the whole show was about BJ and Maxie
OMG how I wish GH was this good again! All this mob crap they have nowadays in insulting and a slap in the face to longtime GH fans. Thanks a lot Bob Guza!
The writing on this show in the '90's was the best in daytime. GH was amazing back then. Watching these clips just makes me so sad, all the great history of this show is being eroded...
That is one great little actress for her age. Not like so many other kids that come in and just say their lines. Who is she? She made me tear up! I'm very impressed. Did I remember ti say thank you? Omg. That got me.
Look I love Kirsten Storms, but if Robyn Richards was fired because she wasn't a good enough actress I beg to differ after watching these scenes. Us GH viewers could've watched her grow up as an adult Maxie like we watched Kimberly McCullough grow up as Robin, or Erin Torpey grow up as Jessica & Kristen Alderson as Starr on One Life To Live, and Camryn Grimes as Cassie on The Young And The Restless. ☹️
I will never understand why they replaced Robyn with Kirsten. Kirsten changed Maxie way too radically from Robyn's more humble approach. I wish she were back.
@@christinaluv1065 Do you know why?? She's had several brain tumors over the years that almost killed her... so she had to have brain surgery to remove them and it takes a long time to recover from the surgeries she has had... this didn't happen just once, the tumors came back multiple times every so many years so she's lucky to just be alive let alone to be able to return back to the soap and still act and remember lines... Maybe you should know what you're talking about before you go trashing someone and bad-mouthing them when you don't know what they've been through she had a very good reason to take off and actually she didn't have a choice so maybe you'll want to read think you're ignorant comment
Felicia knocked this out of the park, explaining the concept of death and what had happened to BJ to Maxie. Such a beautiful scene and it makes me tear up.
Wow, this is sad. I remember the storyline well. BJ's heart and Stone's death. Both amazingly touching storylines. I stopped watching GH some time after the Stone/AIDS storyline. Life just got in the way. From the comments that I've been reading, the show has gone downhill. I should tune in sometime and judge it for myself.
Mack was a better father to both Maxie and Robin than Frisco and Robert ever was !! Though Robert eventually stepped up! Can’t say the same for Frisco!! Expected better from Frisco!!
They still are. This decade alone they've won 4 Outstanding Daytime Drama Emmys in 7 nominations. The best soap opera ever, according to TV Guide, just keeps rolling along.
GH got damn lucky with the Luke n Laura chemistry. When Gloria Monty decided to roll the dice with "Night at the disco", and having the sexual tension between Luke n Laura BEFORE the "Night At The Disco" changed everything. Many are not aware GH ratings were so bad by early 79 ABC decided to cancel the show. They were suppose to be off the air Jan 1980. Amazing how 1 woman changed everything.
I miss Robyn Richards, she really was a great little actress. I don't watch GH anymore but my mom does so I see the occasional scene. The mob crap makes me yawn.
I just saw this again and cried once again but this time my emotions are totally shot since losing my baby girl last week (my cat) due to liver failure at age 15.
Very special. Especially today when Bobbie has passed. MAXIE remembered Tony listening to her heart while she was in recovery and asleep after the surgery. She thought it was a dream but her mom said it really happened.
