This series demonstrates the basics of what would be called a General Movement Servicing, or what some refer to as an “overhaul” of the movement. It includes the clock cleaning process, polishing/burnishing pivots, bushings and final assembly for this time only, mainspring driven movement.

You should have told the varning for the main spring release at the beginning of the demonstration. I got scared and had no pictures to help me put it back together!

Very good video on service. I am bit confused seeing packing tape used on historic objects to hold tags in a museum. The conservators I know would reprimand me if I did that with any tape.

Hi Brian, Thanks for the comment raising concern over the use of tape to label the cases. These clocks are used for training students at the School of Horology and are not part of the museum collection. Hope this help s to clarify.
