A monument to quality education in South Korea......stimulating combination of science and technology.....combined with entrepreneurial and commercial talent.....
As stated in 02:28 and 26:07 the range is some 400 - 450 km or 250 - 280 miles in good conditions and moderate constant speeds lower than 120 km/h or 75 mph (consumption some 19 kWh / 100 km or 29 kWh / 100 miles), if you drive faster, German Autobahn 130 km/h or 80 mph for a longer time, and also sometimes with even higher speeds, the fast driving long-term range is rather like 300 km or 190 miles (26 kWh / 100 km or 42 kWh / 100 miles).
GV60 has a wireless charging function. It would be nice to have a review of this technology someday. My wife is very happy with the RWD Standard model(in Korea). Considering the range and price, there are good options besides the performance model.
@john racher .. +1.. You're killing me. Famous words to remember .. A new driver's classroom blackboard imprint... This Fall is the last of our 3 girls to drive.
Great (and comedic...!) review, Thomas - thanks. Might I suggest that the high-pitch noise was possibly the sound of the wide tyres running over a serrated 'rumble strip' white line at the side of the autobahn...? 🤔 You did seem pretty close to the edge of the road on that particular run...
This is a very good proposition even in lower trims/motors. I love the interior! Btw, I think the little speaker-circle in the passenger side near the door handle is a vent for fragrance capsules/air freshners. Are we going to get a DS4 driving review? Top and middle spec maybe, phev and petrol?
I believe on the GV 60 you can use Face ID to enter the vehicle and finger ID to start the vehicle. The two inside side cameras make the vehicle seem tighter on the inside.
What camera do you in front of the passenger side front windshield? It's the one upside down. The stabilization when it's on you is significantly better than the other camera. 👍
good review, as usual by you, Thomas. But you do not seem to like the vehicle. It is a high end Ioniq5. A bit more compact, which many people will like. And more upscale for those who appreciate luxury. I compared all 3 cars in configurators. It is not even more expensive than the rivalling Hyundai and KIA with the same specs added. I certainly would go for it. Keep up the good work! I always enjoy watching your vids. :-))
Value for money is questionable but it will be a great used car in a couple years for sure. What I want is for Genesis to make a BMW i4 M50 fighter, they certainly can do it!
Attractive design (BMW take note) Really expensive though. Think I'd prefer standard side mirrors, even if they aren't as suited to capturing cool dance moves.
Excellent review… and fun to watch. Was a bit surprised about the emphasis on price since comparable luxury models are as expensive if not more with the similar options / performance…
Its a hyundai with lipstick, thats probably the reason for the double take on price. $84k euros, $85k usd, its not cheap. For this money you can get into audi etron, bmw ix, mercedes eqc, all of which are a bit nicer.
It must be more expensive in Germany than the US. The US version starts at less than $60k. The most expensive that I can make it through their website, with all of the most expensive options, is still just under $70k.
@@darksantacruz Hyundai are considered cheap and cheerful cars for budget oriented folks. Volkswagen are not considered to be cheap or cheerful. Thats perhaps the difference. Genesis trying to pass off budget cars as luxury. Some food for thought, I have been in many VW's that are more luxurious than some Audi's. However, like for like, Genesis has no place competing with the Germans. Genesis's battleground is top spec japanese manufacturers from Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, and up to Lexus and Infiniti etc, somewhere in there. Genesis make a great car, but they are not as good as the Germans, its as simple as that. Yet they price themselves as such. I liken this example to Tesla. Unfinished junk interiors, iffy build quality, garbage paint, yet priced through the roof, about the price of German hot rods (M3, C63, S4 etc), yet compare these, and anyone with a brain would look for an alternative to the model 3. Model 3's landed here in Australia for $70k USD, way too much money imo. I would get a BMW i4 any day over a model 3, and save $10k in doing so, and have a far better quality car. Compare the i4 with a model 3 and feel free to tell me I am wrong (our esteemed host has already reviewed them, so the reviews are easy enough to find).
@@-Derp- I don't agree with your analysis on vw and hyundai/kia why? Because I have both and to be honest my kia is more reliable than my vw. Kia and hyundai have come a long way and I can tell you that right now they are on the same level as vw and in my personal opinion more reliable. Regarding tesla I fully agree with your analysis.
Can't answer exactly, but usually significantly longer (above ~80% charge, charging rates drop significantly to help preserve the battery life... probably looking at another 30-60 mins for the final 20%.
They should've put a semicircle steering wheel in this, not a circular one because then the camera mirror screen on the driver's side would be easier to see...
bmw i4 has battery issue, avoid till sorted. it's now recommended to have the i4 outside of garages and not charge to 100% (same for the iX). you would not want a brand new car set on fire. Mach-E can't maintain constant acceleration due to overheating, something to take account for if you like some more, inspired, driving.
Wish the truck is deeper, 28 inches of height (as you suggest in your video) is kind of shallow and the under compartment is also partitioned, and it looks like the under compartment is only about 3 to 4 inches deep. I have two to three folded e-bikes to bring with me sometimes, 35 inches deep is the minimum height of the trunk I need. So, this Genesis while it is sporty, unfortunately does not fit my need. I have looked at the Ioniq5, it is the same thing, the truck is not deep / high enough. Still, thanks for your video, it is very informative.
@@AlpiD3BT Could still be a bad seal somewhere around the glass or even the windshield. It just sounded to me like a wind whistle rather than a speed alarm. I think something would’ve appeared on the dash as well if it were an alert.
In about two years, new japan battery for cars give 500+ range, no replacement ever, recharge in 20 mins at home instead of 12 hrs., doesn't get hot, cheaper battery to make means lower cost of car, 25,000 or less for fully equipped model, instead of 60,000. Worth waiting. Li-ion now old tech.
I wouldn’t change from my Ioniq 5 P45 even if they were the same price. Interior in front too cramped and the steering wheel looks odd to me. Not a fan of the door cameras, they aren’t that small for aerodynamics and would cost a fortune to replace. Still amazing what cars the Koreans are producing now, what will they be like in 5 years time?
I'll wait a couple years and buy one with new japan battery, 500+ range, no replacing battery ever, charges at home in 20 minutes(not 12 hrs), does not get hot, Cheaper battery to make means lower cost of car 25,000 or less.
I plan to wait for new japan battery that charges 20 times faster, doesn't get hot, cheaper to make and longer range, and never need to replace battery.
A 4 second delay to open the trunk??? I can run around the whole car in that time. That's unacceptable. Why does the car need to take so long to respond? Is it thinking about if it wants to open or not?
There will be a time when we laugh about what designers are doing with LED’s, I hope. It makes me think of what people did with fonts when the dot-matrix printers entered the market in the eighties. :)
