I had a slightly different view on this song when it came out, I had been a Genesis fan for 15 years when it came out and I was disappointed, I’ve sort of mellowed on it since lol.

I grew up with grunge... but when the album we can't dance came... I remembered Genesis was untouchable... I actually lived in a period were We can't dance and peter gabriel's US came out... what a time to be alive!
Genesis is untouchable. I also grew up listening to it. My father would always put me to sleep every night listening to Genesis every album on vynil. Great times!
GENESIS one of the greatest band of all time. Phil Collins took it there to the top with the two great musicians by his side. We will never get tired of hearing and watching them.

Just realised all my favourite songs as a kid (and adult) were Genesis/Phil's songs. Land of Confusion, Invisible Touch, That's all, this song ofc, and probably more i haven't discovered just yet. Amazing band man.
And that pooli scene is a parody of some soft drink commercial.. except now the out of shape man wins.. This is perfectly realistic: I've run into these kind of pool guys, who seem like they know nothing about the game.. An when the bet is on, they clear the table in a matter of seconds...
I must have been about 7 years old when this song came out and I remember the video clip, especially the bit at the very end. My mother had the album featuring this song on cassette tape, I just wish I knew where the tape went. I'm not a big Genesis/Phil Collins fan, but this song is amazing, I can't get enough of it.
I ve been searching for this since 92 and it s been playing in my head ever since, and not understanding the english lyrics back then , I only remember the dance, sooo magical I ve found it now , really glad, this is Gold 😉

I'm 16, my dad's 60 and he loves Genesis and Dire Straits. So when he came over to my apartment, stepped in and heard this song playing on the CD player there was a huge smile on his face thinking "I've nailed parenting"
This tune was very popular in the 90s, since it was first released in 1991. And as a survivor of those years, I will always remember it as a true masterpiece, provided that I grew up with it.
ive heard it on the radio and searched for it forever. the problem was I thought it was phil collins not genisis. now that ive found it, I couldnt be happier
