There is a lot of good advice here, but I particularly like listening to Jeven Dovey. His manner of speech is easy to understand and his speed and enunciation allows you to retain it. He pauses during the sentences so people like me which are easily distracted can focus in pieces. When it’s fast and even toned without out pauses I lose focus. He’s not too fast, and he says things that the majority of people need to understand and he goes about explaining it in the manner that they can.
Reflecting on this video for a little while after watching it and what's interesting to me is that nearly everyone talked about intrinsic motivation. The "if you build it, they will come." And of course also "just do it." Very inspiring.
With shorts now, it's a totally different game. I went from about 12k subscribers, in November, to almost 900K now May 4th. December I hit 100K, got verified, and a Silver play button. Things just randomly shot up and took off once I started posting shorts was more consistently
@@ballooned It's an achievement for sure. But a short lived one. Subscribers nowadays do NOT matter. It's all about the audience around your channel. There''s thousands of shorts creators I've never heard of, but have insane subscribers to the point I'm questioning why I've not seen them before. It's useless, income is limited.
I've noticed that too! I just started consistently about 8 weeks ago and I started posting shorts consistently last week. I've posted 10 since, 1 Monday-Friday and I've already gone from 41 subscribers to 59 in just 12 days! I know it's baby steps, but the shorts are kind of like ads for my channel. It peaks people's interest and then they come over to my channel. 😊
@@idk_someguyshorts income is 3m views in 3 months vs actual videos is 3k watch hours in a year if you can be successful in normal videos it’s vastly better for income.
People are always asking me are you making money or when you are big you will make tons of money. To me it’s not about making money. I love making videos, I love filming, editing and gardening so I’m already happy with my videos. I do try to make better videos each time but for now I’m enjoying the ride.
ive been on youtube for 4 years and this year I decided o go all in and stop business... I love making videos and now my goal is to tell better stories, I have learned to edit over the 4 years, how to make thumbnails etc.... i believe in the content having to be the best to really grow
David Dobrik: "Doesn't matter if you're filming yourself with your toaster!" Yeah my 4K Toaster really shoots the best videos. Don't know how I'd live without it.
I'm def not worrying about the money side yet. My goals are 2fold. First and foremost to show my grandsons they can be content creators...without fancy expensive schooling ... A membership at your local cable tv station will usually give lessons and loan equipment...(at least they do where I am) the hope is, when they see Nana doing it, they'll think, if Nana can, I sure can! And second, my subject is intended to assist people who are mourning lost loved ones, which has to be good. ❤❤❤ So Im studying the process now ..watching people like you!
I’m just documenting my day to day life on me trying to better myself and grow and just open and vulnerable with my successes as well as my failure. Also semen retention/sexual energy transmutation/quiting porn/nofap/celibacy
Super helpful! Just started my channel on self-development. I may not have many subscribers now but I had 0 before. Videos like this help me keep going when I feel like I am not making any progress or compare myself to those with millions of views and subscribers. For everyone working towards their dreams, don’t ever give up! Hope to share my story of triumph with you in a few years and share my progress.
thanks for another great video. i just started this channel. i tried to stream games on twitch, made some money but it didnt feel right. i love to travel my whole life, so this is what i am doing now :) thanks for being inspiring !!
Thanks for the video and advice! Applying this to my future videos. I used to just stop whenever I noticed any mistakes in my videos. but i noticed it’s so wrong to do that and it’s better to just keep going all while improving for the next video.
this is probably the best video on how to create a content people love with approach, lesson learnt from some of the top youtubers/content creators. The video answers to some of the misconception that I have pointed out in the video. Thank you so so much for this amazing great video that can navigate newbie like me!!! thank you such for this great help!
Ana amazing video!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️ thank you for sharing this. I felt so impaired after this to look at my videos and see what I can do to make them better and to continue to grow.
None of this helps when i dont know how to tell what my audience wants. Like I already asked i dont know what they want to watch, my channel is pretty much dead
Here's a question! Considering thumbnails - our videos as you know are based around DIY projects, and we love to show either the final result or a before/after. So it makes it hard to create a thumbnail preemptively because we don't know exactly what it will look like. What advice do you have for this scenario? Get a general mock up of a thumbnail and just plug and play after filming? Amazing video btw! Very helpful tips everyone was spot on 👍 thanks for all that you all do and educating the community "You Got This!"
One way you could do it is take one picture of the material before you start creating and when you're done filming then you take a picture of the final product. And then you can put them side by side in the thumbnail.
1. Analyze your videos and filter by CTR 2. Pick the 10 with the highest CTR 3. Extract patterns they have in commom 4. Thats your formula Maybe, of your 10 highest CTR (not views) videos, 7 out of 10 have some text, maybe they have a determined background, maybe they share a dominant colour… It’s great the huge amount of videos and views you have! Thats means that the data you can extract is much more real and objective. Good luck mate!
I would definitely do what Emilia had said! A picture of the before and the final product! What I've seen trending in DIY thumbnails is that the final product is blurred so it evokes some type of mystery! Maybe try A/B testing with both versions and see what works best for you!
I'm starting this week! I discovered I can use my webcam to do just what I need to do! Now it's time to learn to edit and all the other things. I am stepping into my destiny of encouraging many to heal and find the beauty and purpose God has for them in this life! Thanks for all your videos at Think Media!
Starting is a huge hurdle for people. Longterm consistency and intentional growth in the face of lack of results is even harder. Just started but hoping I can stay in the journey’
Another tip is not to compare yourself with others, applies for your RU-vidrs but also in life. Life is not a competition. I used to compare myself with others before, and I was always frustrated, but when I started focus only on myself and my journey I started to see progress and be more satisfied. It might seem like others are luckier than you but the reality is they been doing something for longer than you or better than you. You only see the top of the iceberg but not what is beneath the water.
"Just Press Record" has haunted me for the past 6 months. Tomorrow will be day 3 for my new RU-vid Video Blog. I stared at the blank camera for hours before I could press record. Thank you for all of the great content. I wouldn't have done it without your slogan bouncing around in my 61 year old head. A new friend of mine Ryan S Howard was also instrumental. He says your VRA is great. Having someone like him just a few steps ahead gave me the confidence to just do it Can't wait to see you in person someday soon. Nobody's Fault Podcast
Last night, I recorded the 24th episode. So glad the ball is rolling now. Lots of tiny baby steps being made. Still need to work on thumbnails, titles and a hundred other details. Always do a sound check. 😄
Great video! Really helped me start up my RU-vid channel. Been quite a wild first month but honestly regardless of views/subs just enjoying the content you put out is important. Good luck to all you other new youtubers! Let's strive to be the best we can.
Amazing! Thanks so much for compiling so many greats nuggets of wisdom into one video. It’s always so helpful to learn from those who have found success
One year, once a week and over 4k subs. I do every thing wrong and am having a blast. I get to tell dirty and corny dad jokes while gambling. No research or computer skills. I also get an amazing amount of super chats, too. I’m getting paid to have fun. Anyone can do this. Make mistakes and embrace them. Also, nobody sees my face. Will start merchandise line soon. For those technolically disinclined, like me, I found a kid to get me on other platforms and will give him 25% to help me grow. It is really not that much of a challenge. So get off your ass and stream. If I can do it anybody can. Closing in on one million views. It makes no sense but it’s working. I offend a few people with my jokes. Water on a duck’s back. I also made the mistake of spending big bucks on camera and microphones, when all I really needed was my IPhone and a stand to hold it.
I really need to have more subs because my family depends on me i have 2 children I have a 85 year old grandma and a mom who is an on call delivery rider I did not finish college because of financial issues I don't have a job 🥺. I am currently a small online seller but the inflation rate here in the Philippines is not helping and it makes more people buy on online apps than on us resellers.
practice doesn't make perfect... PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS The more we practice the further we can push ourselves and see results! 500 subs after a year and a half of inconsistent spurts but we will get there!! 🍔
I started RU-vid when I was at university with an iphone and I had no idea youtube was a job for people 😅 If I had, I would have doubled down. But here I am, 10 years later and 12K subscribers ❤
I think my problem is i dont know what my true passion is. I have many different interests and things I want to do and i get burnt out too quickly because of my ADHD so i dont think i could really even be in a specific niche. Even with this current niche I’m in I know exactly what I need to do to become the top creator but it just doesn’t interest me anymore.
There have been times where I wanted to give up on my channel and took breaks but I keep coming back, I know this year is going to be the year that changes everything for my channel.
Terrific work on the video, Sean and the entire ThinkMedia team! Over time, I have come to truly value your authentic and impactful way of sharing information with us. Your dedication to providing real and practical advice has made a significant difference, and I couldn't be more grateful for your guidance. Thank you again for all that you do! 😊
Mr Beast is the only creator that's honest enough to tell his viewers to just make good video not else really matter. Everything else will follow ... its the good video and the value of that video that matters
New content creater here. Ive just posted 2. Great information here. The message of views and subscribers don't matter is priceless. I will agree one of the fears is criticism. Seems we focus on the one negative than the 99 positive. Seems we are quick to critisize rather than encourage. As a former athlete I'm using that as a guide. People only see the game. They don't see the thousands of foul shots in practice. Maybe if this community, or people in general, were more positive and supportive so many wouldnt give up. Add that eveything is a bout a viral video and if 1 doesn't go viral, they just give up.
Thanks for your content, it’s really helpful. I am an artist searching for ways to make interesting videos about my art, distinct from a lifestyle artist’s approach. I aim to create high-quality, engaging videos but am unsure how to adapt techniques from RU-vid channels I’ve seen. I’m considering the Think Media course but unsure if it’s right for an artist. Do you have any examples or tips for artists making videos? Is the course suitable for artists? 🙏🏻
Great video, we've been going for about 18 months. It's a slow process, but it's an important one, considering we came into this with zero experience 👍👍
Honestly, that's what I've been asking but it doesn't seem to really help.. the algorithm doesn't care how Good. Your video is if people aren't clicking and watching the whole thing.
This is like learning a new language (RU-vid) i have been doing instagram for years and this is way more enjoyable than anything else i have ever done.😀
