The decision to manually fix levels is baffling to me as well. It would literally take infinitely less time to implement legacy physics. It's not even a lazy decision, it's the opposite of lazy because it's more work, it's just... a stupid decision.

@@whact He did not. There's a couple legacy options but no way to completely revert the physics. Pretty much every level that has been broken by the update cannot be fixed with these options.

Literally one of the most fun and memorable Robtop levels and it holds up compared to some 2.0 community levels. I never hear any convincing argument from haters they mostly just hate the really cool "memory" part or often just dont even have an argument whatsoever. They're the same people to call Geometrical Dominator generic while praising Blast Processing for its 60% filler parts.

It won’t. The ONLY problem is the fact that, like he said, the secret coins are kinda goofy and hard in The Tower, and secret coins are important to people who like max stats like me, forcing us to play platformer even if we don’t want to

Seems like people don't realize that Rob has never wanted people to be able to hear the level's music in practice mode. The idea is that you get to hear the full song ONLY by competing the level, it's like a reward itself. Rob also doesn't like people using hacks in his game and knows people liked megahack for the practice music hack. At one point he claimed 2.2's practice music hack wouldn't be synced to the level and would just play in the bg like the original music, but I guess he figured people would still buy megahack then so he made it work the way people liked. The decision to lock it behind diamond currency seems to be Rob saying "fine you bastards, here's your practice music hack, but I'mma make sure new players play the game MY way. If you dedicate enough time into the game to afford it, then you've have earned the right to play it YOUR way" Btw, I bought the practice music item, but ended up turning it off cuz I actually fuck with the way Rob intended it. I really enjoy hearing how the music syncs for the first time in normal mode after practicing it without that music. With the new item, I found myself just beating levels in practice to get the satisfaction of hearing the song with the level synced and it felt lame to me. But obviously most people in the community don't feel that way about it. I don't really play extreme demons so the idea that hearing the music is crucial to learning the level never tracked with me.

This might sound absurd, but how RobTop feels about practice music sync is how I feel about practice mode in platformer. I've never liked savestates much in other platformer games, but past a very high threshold I recognize they're practically necessary. I'm genuinely happy he held off on including it initially, because influencing the earliest design trends of platformer levels in that way leaves a lasting impression, even though practice mode is present. I don't think having it be unlockable is a good idea, but I do wish that platformer practice came with a label that said, "hey, you should only use this if you're really stuck, because it's (hopefully) fun to work things out as you go." I perceive routing a platformer level out as something fundamentally different than sightreading in geometry dash, and it's too easy to just power through a stage throwing your head against a wall rather than giving it the slower pace that a platformer should probably have.

A big issue with no legacy physics as well is some levels are retroactively buffed cause of it. It seems that they're only touching impossible levels but it makes beating some levels way worse then the creators intended

Rob has always, and I mean ALWAYS, stood by his idea that hearing the music in tandem with playing the level was a large part of the inherent reward of playing the level in full in normal mode. This is backwards compared to every other major game like GD to include a practice mode. I'm glad he put the option in the update, but don't get why he felt the need to guard it behind hundreds of hours of playing the game. Hopefully lists will reduce the amount of time it takes to get diamonds, but the need shouldn't exist in the first place.

I guess I can kinda see where he's coming from with that, but I thinkn that applies even without the practice music. its not like hearing 5 second snippets of the same song is very satisfying, after all. whats satisfying is doing the whole thing in one go

I've always found playing a level without practice mode is more magical in a way, experiencing it for the first time in normal mode. When that becomes impossible due to difficulty, the best way to preserve some of that magic is to save your experience with the music for normal mode, because when you get to a new part for the first time it actually feels like a new experience rather than something you've done 100 times already. Yes this might make learning a level take more time, but the actual experience is better imo

2000 diamonds is NOT hundreds of hours of playing the game. You can easily get it if you play at least 1 hour every day for like 2 weeks.

ikr, for you to beat levels you need good practice mode preferably with the levels music instead of elevator music but in order to do that you need to beat a lot of levels but to do that you need to do what i said earlier and the cycle repeats

The fact that there is STILL no legacy slope physics option implemented is such a mindblowing decision. He's updated the game so many times since the update's initial release, he's got to know about the bug since everyone is talking about it, it feels like he's not adding it intentionally for some reason but I can't comprehend why. Does he just not care that he broke several iconic levels (and countless others) to the point of being impossible or 10x harder?

It's pretty common knowledge at this point that RobTop doesn't keep old versions of his source code, rather he builds upon them.

I'd like to mention one thing that I think is pretty important and something you probably need to know. I've noticed that the mod team that was supposed to "fix" the broken levels hasn't actually done anything. Because surely by now levels like Black Blizzard and Windy Landscape would've been fixed by now. So far, every single fix I've seen has been done by the uploader of the level, and it was always followed by a statement which confirms that they fixed the level themselves rather than someone else. I even sent three bugged level submissions with the form the mods set up with a link to three unlisted videos, and none of them have a single view a month later. This sort of gives me hope that the mod team isn't actually going with that plan anymore and that RobTop is actually trying to reimplement the old physics for old levels. This definitely isn't a perfect theory, as why wouldn't you take down the form if you aren't going to use it, and why haven't I heard anything that confirms Rob is actually doing what I hope he is. But at the same time, why have the form when you aren't responding to anyone who submits something? Considering Rob already reimplemented the extra orb coyote frame already, I think he might actually be working on reversing the physics changes. This is just pure speculation and it could age either really well or really poorly. For now unfortunately, there's not a lot we can do besides express our concerns to the community. And, to everyone just calling WHErwin's concerns with sightreadability a "skill issue" are being extremely dismissive and disrespectful. Obviously you shouldn't ever put the blame on things that aren't even true nor confidently say a level is "good" or "bad" when you aren't even good enough at the game to complete it, but if someone is genuinely having trouble trying to follow the gameplay and process what's up ahead it's not wrong to feel like the level's been unfair to you. Just because YOU can react quickly and thus formed a positive opinion of a level, doesn't mean others SHOULD. Anyways, good video. I agree and disagree with a lot of things you mentioned, but I can respect them because you've actually justified your opinions instead of just straight-up rambling. The community really needs to learn a thing or two from you.

I really love the fact you brought up that limitations can bring out creativity, i feel like some of my most creative layouts were ones where i stuck to a limitation like making an entire level using only a 2 block tall corridor. Its one of the reasons i dislike the physics changes because in a lot of my layouts ive used bugs and janky physics as a way to make more interesting gp and a lot of those are impossible now. Like was the robot superjump some massive bug that needed fixing? i barely ever encountered it when i didnt want it to happen but ive seen it used in levels intentionally way more often.

It's not the difficulty to perform it, it's just how fucking confusing and unsightreadable it is, especially for the introduction to sideways gameplay. I personally didn't struggle with it, but many others did.

@@thedinosaurz it has, but before, mechanics weren't just thrust upon you. And while dash is the last level a player would play (i think), why would he now change that. in fact, not even 10 seconds after that spider, swingcopter was introduced in a way that was better way Even though it's not a big a deal to learn, it sucks how main levels at one time carefully and thoughtfully guided the player and now are becoming more like user levels that assume you've already learned many mechanics.

That's the stupidiest argument I've heard. "Bro why people yappin' about how hard the world's hardest jump is??? It's literally just 1 click (laugh out loud😂😂😂)". It's utterly confusing, unfair, looks ugly, makes no sense, basically changes main rules of the game in a couple of seconds for absolutely no reason, it's an extremely bad way of introducing a mechanic, but I guess the fact that this part has only 2 clicks brakes everything I've just said.

Top player community has also exploded because of the physics change. The player OneAlphaHelix was essentially forced out of the game because the way the new physics affected the level he was trying to verify made being a top GD player too stressful for him to handle.

2.2 is a great update, however with such huge things as climbing walls, going in reverse, and sticking to ceilings should have things such as portals to indicate them. You shouldn't have to learn a new visual for them with every level you beat. Also platformer mode.

Edit: to clarify, I did NOT miss what the commenter was saying, I just wanted to share some ideas :) I know this is a nitpick of your comment, but portals would NOT work for ANY of these - For climbing walls, it COULD work! Except that it would look really ugly if you wanted the player to change direction on the ground, like in the quiet part in Dash. I think that the best solution, by far, would be to integrate the little arrow particle thingies from Dash as an obligatory visual representation of this feature (except if you used an alpha trigger I guess lol) - For going in reverse, portals are made so that you enter them in one direction, and exit through the other one. Except in THIS case, you would enter in one direction... and exit through the same one?? A portal would make NO sense here. I think using big arrows, similar to speed changers, would be the best solution here, by far (maybe even adding this as a new feature of speed changers!). They could also work to change directions as an alternative to the flowing little Dash arrows, in case you don't want the player to change direction on the ground - For sticking to ceilings: honestly, we could already do that in previous updates pretty easily, so this feels really silly as a "new mechanic". Using portals for this wouldn't work for the same reason that I gave in my previous point. Honestly, I have no good ideas for this one... I'd love to hear some suggestions from the people reading this :)

one thing i was looking forward to in 2.2 was an expansion to the story. seems that will be a 2.3 thing though. although it seems like the map and explorers may be slightly connected to the story in some shape or form

imo If robtop was gonna add legacy physics he should have made it a setting in the level options menu with "ldm" and "disable shake," but if the level was verified using legacy physics then the setting would be on by default. The main issue I have is that I'm beginning to notice the difference more and more between upside down and normal gravity physics, especially in ship parts. I don't want to learn to straightfly two different ways depending on the level if it doesn't break anything.

The thing is, you kind of already learnt to straightfly in two different ways. Before 2.2, upside down gravity was slightly stronger so you instinctively clicked more when straight-flying upside down. Now the gravity is consistent no matter what, so you just need to click the same amount as you normally would in normal gravity. The pre-2.2 upside down physics are automatically enabled in levels before 2.2, so you only have to worry about this change in newer levels. Just thought this needed to be cleared up

I'll respond to this video solely using very specific timestamps because I'm weird :) 0:10 applier 🤯 0:50 although Dash has a lot of minor flaws, like you pointed out, I don't think they're as big of a deal as you're making them out to be. I still think it's a really great level, even with all its quirks 1:01 I really like the pixel aesthetic, it's a defining trait of 2.2 that helps make it feel even MORE unique compared to other updates. I'm completely fine with it, as long as it just stays as a 2.2 thing, and future updates use different visual styles 1:15 this joke is amazing lol this is (partially) why I love your content 1:19 I COMPLETELY disagree. I think that part is amazing, and not a bad introduction to the mechanic AT ALL. It's definitely my favorite spider part in the level (if you want me to post a whole essay explaining my reasoning you can tell me) 2:19 wait, really? I never struggled with that orb AT ALL lmao. Although I DO agree that RobTop completely abandoning the importance of indicators in 2.2 (after partially abandoning them in 2.0 and 2.1) is HORRIBLE (seriously why is he doing this) 10:44 wait, I don't get it. What's wrong with the song and sfx triggers and how do they harm creativity? The song one should have been in the game ever since 1.9 came out tbh 14:24 RobTop has already expressed his own reasons why he made practice mode play elevator music before, but idc about any of that lol I just think that the fact that this optional feature is gated behind a shop AND that it's expensive is very funny, so I'm fine with it I 100% agree with everything else! It's SO WEIRD how I'm not seeing ANYBODY ELSE complaining about the fact that moderators are going out of their way to """fix""" older levels, I'm glad I'm not alone in this 😌

Here it is (I am the Dash spider part's strongest soldier ⚔) 🚨💀 WARNING: YAPPING AHEAD!! 💀🚨 Colon's problem with it stems from the fact that it kind of jumpscares you because it's already using direction changes in a more complex way, meaning that you'll likely die at first if you have never interacted with this mechanic beforehand. He even tries to "prove" this by showing short clips of random RU-vidrs dying to that part (this doesn't actually prove his point, but whatever). The thing is, is that I think that's perfectly fine, since it's LITERALLY at the VERY BEGINNING of the level. It leaves a long-lasting, memorable impact on the player (the cool factor only ADDS to this), and forces them to get their skill issues sorted out in a non-annoying way. Reminds me of the Deadlocked wave in a way, even though that one is clearly harder and doesn't introduce any new mechanic. I don't think that trying to cause the player to die to learn a mechanic, either intentionally or unintentionally, is inherently a bad thing. It just needs to be executed well. And personally, I think that's the case with Dash :) Although the OTHER instance of direction changing later on in the level seems like a better introduction of that mechanic at first glace (Colon points this out in MULTIPLE of his videos), I'd unironically argue that it might be too late into the level for it to ACTUALLY be better in this regard, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

I beat windy landscape a couple months before 2.2 came out and it was one of my hardest levels, when I revisited it in 2.2 I was like "wtf...? " I'm so glad I beat it before 2.2 holy shit

i want to believe the mod team fixing levels meant that they would fix levels impossible on 240 physics steps, and that robtop is working on readding propper legacy physics, he did add back the extra coyote frame for orbs after all, i just hope he can actually fix all of the issues, since i bet he will miss some anyways, like the one you mentioned being used in your level is very likely to be overlooked lol but we will see

I'll lay out my thoughts in dot points! - Dash is alright I guess, it introduced (most) 2.2 features well and is (mostly) quite fun. Apart from some gameplay quirks that are better covered in GDcolon's video, I'm also not a fan of the aesthetics, the pixel art doesn't work when only half the screen is piexel art and half is regular GD graphics, it feels like it's trying to be more like other games of its niche. - I love swingcopter, I see people complaining that it's hard to control but that looks like a skill issue to me, the community will learn. - Camera trigger is a good thing overall, currently I feel it's a bit overused or used poorly which is exactly what I predicted but there are some levels that use it really well that give me hope, and I think that like swingcopter and the move trigger, the community will learn to make it not terrible. - The pixel blocks in general are annoying because a) I don't think they look all that great and b) they seem very arbitrary, like premade assets that you can't do anything with. To me, it's editor bloat that gets in the way of the few useful assets in the last screen of the aesthetics tab. - There's way too much I have to say about platformer but my general thoughts is that easy levels up to medium/hard demon are all really fun and we will continue to get fun and creative levels that use the editor in cool and new ways. Unfortunately, GD platformer just doesn't have enough depth for people to want to do harder levels like extremes since there are just better games for ultra hard platformers, I also don't think there's enough complexity with it for there to be any extreme demon platformers that aren't miserable. - Way too much unneeded content outside of levels, I don't want to grind through countless 10 key demon chests for an icon I want, surely there's a better way that isn't microtransactions. I don't care about paths or shards or whatever and it's honestly silly how arbitrarily icons are given any worth. - Lists are incredible and they should be advertised more. I shouldn't have to explain myself. - The 2000 diamonds for practice music is annoying but it's honestly not that hard to get if you just open chests and do the daily level for a few weeks. I also think it's aimed at newer players who wouldn't know how to practice levels effectively and for there to be a bigger separation between practicing and playing. - The physics change needed to happen for the game to stay alive, but robtop really did it in the worst way possible for the reasons you said. - The 2.2 editor is so fucking good I can't stress this enough.

1:48 I'm gonna be honest, despite the gravity change, it felt very intuitive to me. Only after I beat the level and someone else pointes it out I was like: "oh, this changes your gravity, yeah". To Be fair, I think deadlocked did this invisible gravity change that is rotated vertically, so you should already have the expectations that vertically rotated teleport portals switch your gravity.

I don't necessarily agree with the direction of the game and it's changes/implementations, but it's interesting to see the new ways it expands upon itself and the new tools creators can use to make novel ideas and concepts that weren't possible before. For me, it's hard to know whether to love or hate this update since it changes the fundamentals of the game, especially when said changes could have been done better.

What pissed me off most is that there were people who had access to the beta branch and likely did not, you know, beta test the damn game and focused on their own levels. Beta testing the editor, sure, but it takes some real stupidity for nobody to notice how Windy Landscape, one of the most popular insane demons, is only possible via frame perfect. Like COME ON. Oh and being told that "high skill players" were part of the beta testers being a flat out lie from VipRin was also NOT APPRECIATED

i think a lot of the controversy only exists due to the wait time. if this update took about as long as any other one, people probably wouldnt be as pissed about the shortcomings but since it took 7 years, the fact that there is still a lot of stuff wrong with it is pretty unjustifiable.

The biggest problem is that this update has too much and it came too late, robtop should've sprinkled all the 2.2 features little by little instead of it taking forever and then when it drops it breaks 20 million different things, but that's not something that's fixable now, all we can do is hope he listens to the complaints and fixes most of the major problems

2.2 is a good update however it has it's flaws 1 of my big problems with the update is the icons certain ones have certain things you have to do to unlock them GREAT! (not sarcasm) but then there is the icons that are unfair to get like the icon I would like which requires 160 secret coins I cannot tell you how much I despise the map packs and I can't get that icon unless rob either makes more map packs, changes the levels in the map packs, adds new ways to get secret coins, or adds several new main levels I see none of these happening which makes me sad I really really want ship 88 also there are icons that require 350 demons to get I could not do that unless I played the game every day 12 hours a day for a year also the chests are pretty stupid the amount of keys required to open a singe chest is insane some times (make demon keys easier to get is my solution). I love the paths there pretty fun to do I have nearly doubled my star count since the update has came out.

I've always seen icons more as trophies/badges rather than things you _need_ to collect, which is why I personally like the fact that there are super hard achievements like 500 demons and 25k stars because I've always felt there should be icons exclusive to the most dedicated players. The 160 ship for example is a sort of status symbol, showing others that you grinded through the map packs and made it out the other side; it's a reward for doing something most people haven't done. It's not forcing players to play the map packs, rather it's a bonus for going above and beyond. This might be extreme, but I'd honestly love to see icons for being in the top 100, 50, 10, and 1 spot on the player and creator leaderboards, not because I would ever unlock them but because I think it would be so cool if the top players and creators had icons that no other player in the game had; something that proves that they've acomplished something incredible, that they've clawed to the top and won. Viewing unlocks like this might ease the pain of not having everything... now whenever I see someone with a cool icon I don't have, instead of feeling jealousy I view it with a sort of admiration. In 2.2 I've also stopped using a dedicated icon set, instead switching my icons around pretty frequently; there are SO MANY new icons and colors that you're bound to find something amazing with what you already have. From an achievement hunting pov though 2.2 is an absolute nightmare lmao

I completely agree with the new ratings being pointless, all they’re doing is creating more argument around what levels deserve x rate in my opinion In terms of the physics changes, I personally like how the new physics feel but also really dislike the fact that rob didn’t just implement legacy physics properly. There was clearly some effort put into making legacy physics options, as they partially exist, but it just doesn’t make sense that he would seemingly start to implement proper legacy physics then just stop halfway with a very incomplete implementation and go “yeah this is good for release” Overall while I think 2.2 has a lot of great stuff in it, it also has just as many design decisions that leave me confused. The only conclusion I can reasonably come to is that 2.2 was simply out of robtop’s comfortable scope as a game developer and it pushed him to make some decisions he wouldn’t normally make, especially after he announced the release date too early twice and started to have to rush the last few things out the door in order to release the update in a semi timely manner.

10:48 I seriously disagree with what you said here, allowing for song changes and adding in SFX will not harm creativity at all. Infact doing this will allow for more creative levels because you're not stuck to the song you choose. You can spice up your levels more with using more songs and sound effects, why would any of this harm creativity? That song limitation did make you shape the level around the song but at this stage of the game ireally don't think that's necessary anymore. I agree with the whole music sync thing, but still using SFX and more music doesn't mean the level will not sync. You can still make it sync and creators will make their levels do so (i hope) You're right with platformer levels not having the GD feel, they're almost completely different, but I still really like concept of having platformer in GD, but i do understand people not liking this, after all the game has been a side scroller since the beggining. Oh and the lack of more input in platformers is pretty sad, huge missed opportunity there. I wish robtop added at least 1 custom button for interaction etc. Would allow for a lot more possibilies.

don't really agree with the part about normal practice mode music. the base game already gives players a lot of leeway when it comes to learning levels efficiently with practice mode and start positions and the like, and i think megahack has made a lot of people take a lot of features for granted even though they're not really necessary for learning levels. it subtracts from the experience for me too - like, i think it's a lot more rewarding to wait until actually beating the whole level to hear the song in its entirety. it's a useful hack for level request streams and stuff like that but i don't think it's anywhere near as important to beating hard levels as people make it out to be - top players had to beat levels without using megahack for pretty much the game's entire existence, after all

[10:21] Just accept synced platformers as a real thing, make them, and use normal platformers as a showcase of new mechanics. Simple solution. You do need problem solving, like how force player to play the platformer if he can just stop and listen to the music, or how to make it look less like classic, so it would actually be a platformer level with introduced sync, and actually play like one. It is insanely hard to make tho, and I am working on problem solving with that. Like, you can play it like a normal platformer, and not being ALWAYS forced by enemies to move faster, or speedrun to match the music perfectly, you can look at the level and learn it before actual attempt, and it would be satisfying to pull off. And to not complete level with that thing, add a closing gate at the end of the level for it to be finished with sync. Everything else just song triggers and it's looping + abusing mechanics that is only possible in platformer, like customizable dash orbs or an ice blocks. Sync is fundamentals of the game, make a platformer synced.

Yeah so while i do agree with some of the points you made,i also disagree with some. In my opinion,dash is a top 3 robtop level. It looks good and the gp is fun ans satisfying. The only thing i dont like is the waiting times at the end but its not that big of a deal for me. Also what did geometrical dominator do to you? Why do you hate it so much when time machine and cant let go exist? Ok about platformer mode now. I honestly really like it. I think it has a lot of potential and the fact that it doesnt have that complex movement fits gd pretty well. The thing i like the most about platformer is how overall complex it can be. First there are a lot of mechanics. Levels like chromaside and speed tek show that it has a lot of potential to be really fun. Second ,youve seen what ppl can do with it. I mean we got a fnaf recreation in it. Also i think selling it separatly is kinda stupid bc its still the same game and im pretty sure rob can just disable some mechanics in platformer if they dont work well (like he did with wave and swing) Now honestly i think the song trigger is awesome for a lot of reasons. For the music unlocker costing 2k diamonds i think its fair. As rob said,having the music play in practice takes away from the normal mode experience and locking it behind a few hours of playtime makes sense since by the time you get it,you would most likely be done with the main game and playing harder levels,where you actually need it. For the physics change,ikd how i feel about it. The slopes change is understandable since they were really inconsistent before (there was even a popular meme about this ,from what i remember it was something like "my cube deciding how high will jump when i jump on slopes" with a slot machine photo atached) What im more concerned about is the other small changes (ufo now jumping when clicking on toggle orbs,made 2/3 of the levels i was going for completly impossible or the one you mentioned),and also inconsistencies between old and new levels. For now i think the update was very good but had some small anoying things that made it a bit frustrating (like half the new gauntlet levels being really unfun to play or the crash bug that thankfully got fixed) But more important,why do you hate geometrical dominator so much???

I feel like platformer mode isn’t good because of the core mechanics. It’s good because of the amount of tools you can use to make different kinds of levels. The worst part about the changing physics is the hypocritical moderators who say that physics works perfectly fine and it ain't buggy at all (considering the fact that 2.2 was playtested apparently), like viprin for example he literally said that, and I genuinely don't understand why the community isn't that upset about it because a lot of them literally lied, how the hell people fucking playtested the 2.2 and haven't seen that windy landscape wasn't possible, and the fact that they want to fix everything manually is absolutely ridiculous, apparently they'll fix ONLY rated levels which is an absolute shame, if a creator who built a very good unrated level that I wanna beat and it's impossible cause of the new physics for example, then I won't be able to beat it on its original copy like fuck c'mon, I hope (lol) that they will realize that fixing everything manually is just too much work and a very stupid decision. Another baffling change, which is also lazy imo, is that now every level uploaded, starting from 2.201 are copyable without having a option to disable copies or adding a password. There's a reason people want their levels not copyable and such, but making copy hacks an excuse to that change is just dumb. I literally had an idea for my first solo to have a copy password hidden and then showed up after the song actually ends, but now I have to download the first 2.2 release from steamcmd just so I could upload with a copy password. Even worse if I don't get to finish the solo before 2.3 I will be forced to leave my level copyable

@@WHErwin I always interpreted the "limitations inspire creativity" quote as a shorter way to say "limitations force people to go out of their way to find (often) unnecessarily complicated or awkward solutions to problems that wouldn't exist if not for those limitations", and not... whatever you mean by it. I don't see them as a good thing in the long run, at all. I think that more freedom, overall, brings better results that will age better over time, and actually allows for MORE creativity. A different type, for sure, but a MUCH better one IMO This is why I specifically said "exactly" in my comment. It felt like you just said the quote in the video without elaborating on it at all, and assumed everyone would immediately understand your point. 2.2 broke a lot about how I played the game and what levels I played and how I played them. Right off the bat, it broke ignore damage yet got fixed in a bug fix, but a lot of the levels I want to play and even beat... well, I can't anymore. I wanted to beat WL on mobile but now I may as well not even bother because most of my attempts will just go into the first 3%, yet feel lucky I beat it on my computer before 2.2. Spacial Rend is also one of my favorite levels, now borked and possibly will never be fixed officially. I never cared much about the demonlist, especially as I think it's harmful for the community in general, but it's in shambles right now and they only accept opinions based on 2.11 gameplay. I love the update but it has broke the way I played the game.

platformer mode doesn't have to sync but music sync is like one of the main draws of geometry dash. It was part of its core identity and now it's muddied. His whole point was that platformer mode should be separated because it just worsens both platformer and normal mode by making the editor less specialized to what gd was originally all about. And with a more generalized editor, it becomes a jack of all trades, master of none. that's his problem from what i understand 9:58

personally i'm fine with geo dom, but i can see why some people hate it. the colours are weird, the moving objects in it are hard to read (even years later), mechanics aren't introduced consistently, and so on. that being said, the hate for the """memory""" part is something i will never understand, it is literally my favourite part in any robtop level lmao

A lot of this video is extremely nitpicky and sometimes just wrong, removing limitations harms creativity? Platformer should be sold separately? I’m sorry what? Sounds like you are just afraid of change. There are some good points being made but most of the video is being overly negative on a massively positive update.
