Alright, I agree with you that the theming, and the gameplay is generic at, but I will defend grief for its decoration. Its stellar compared to slaughterhouse and amplifies the intimidation. Also, that second point you made is pretty bad. Just because a level chooses a song that a better level already uses doesn’t mean that that level is overshadowed by the former. A good example of this would be PXTTXRN SXXKXR and Quazillion, which represents the song that they both share in many different ways, so that you don’t think of the other at all while playing one. Stalemate and Grief do this a bit too, an example being Stalemate using the short breaks in the song to pulse the entire level black, and Grief takes advantage of it by withering or altering the clubstep monsters as you pass by them.

You should mini review a good level instead. There's this cool level called Multiplicity. The guy who made it is a total loser but the level needs attention.
