Great bit on hiring a contractor by George Lopez on his DVD "Why You Crying" by Showtime. He also appeared on the Latin Kings of Comedy by Paul Rodriguez.
Damn that happen to me too. Had my roof replace had about 10 Mexicans and they did it in one day. Got here at 7 and we’re done by 5. Those people work!!!
Jason Santoro Dat is SO TRUE THEY DONT PLAY LIKE DA FRANKENSTIEN WORKERS IN CIVIL SERVICE JOBS JOKING SHAKING AN POPING HANDS LAFFING AT PEOPLE WHO DO WORK. VIVA MEJICO.
My dad does landscaping and it's a hard job I work with him during the summers but he goes to work at 5:30am and get there like at 7 and comes home like around 5 or 6 pm.
People saying it is stereotypes. But, the truth is Mexican people are hard working. However, they like to party and drink. The preferred liquor is tequila. They have barbecues and if they can fix it on their own they will do it. However, when it comes to timing they run on Hispanic time, meaning we start whenever we are ready. I went to a party for 7 and I was late. I arrived at 7:30 PM, they had nothing done. The party did not start until 9:30pm. Plus, if you talk back to your mom, she will magically pull an object out of nowhere to throw at you or beat you with it.
All cultures have funny little idiosyncrasies.. Hispanics.. Germans.. Italians.. Jews.. and they all good naturedly rib each other about it. It's beautiful.. it's celebrating life!
Went to visit my tio in matamoros he’s just turned 70 years old and he still works. He maintains water fixtures for peoples pools. He has been working since he was 3 years old. Talking to him last night he said that he remembers when his dad woke him up at 4 am to pick up eggs from the chickens and geese.
Everything he said is spot on. I especially like 'the the last guy on the rope, swinging and taking lemons.' We always help ourselves to our neighbors' fruit tree goodies. While I don't miss living in E.L.A., I miss being a kid there...
I agree. My grandpa and uncle built my moms home. I was a teenager helping out. Of course its in the barrio, so some of us had to sleep in. If youre mexican from south, you know the house is built of cinder blocks. Anyways, i remember my uncle and grandpa measuring by closing one eye and counting steps. Oh and Fridays, olvidate, theyd work till 12 y pescar la peda. Lol, i had that one cousin who would go use the restroom every 30 minutes too. Coming back, all quiet and energized
Mexicans are just Irish dudes with sweet ass tans and black hair lol. We both love alcohol, we work our asses off and we both say cheeky shit all the time.
I did roofing as a summer job and you'd be surprised how often the workers jumped on the pool lol. I never did it because I don't like to swim, but almost every time we did a house with a pool, they would just wait for the people who lived in the house to leave so they could swim in their pool lol
Fuck it they deserved it. I've roofed too in my lifetime. The way I see it there are men who have worked on roofs in the summer and there are boys who have not, lol.
Black belizian from Central America, grew up in Brooklyn NY we do things the same way Homie.matter of fact we are Mexico’s Neibhor so you know there’s lots of Latino & black similarities that are universal to any culture
Omar is Right. Central Americans too. South American also. Latinos do shit more ghetto or less technical in other words. Ask other Mexicans and they will agree.
By the comments, even tho George is talking about Mexicans, he can make all and any race relate to his comedy and the situations he talks about...what he's talking about is so true no matter what nationality you are.. it's so spot on...anytime RU-vid gives me a George Lopez recommendation, I click...ya have to see or find an old 1991 tribute to Michael Jordan...George Lopez was hilarious...salute to a living legend
Lopez is so RIGHT I am german decent but I swear we have Mexican in us when we build things we just walk it out heal toe then dig the ground hahahahahahaha
My family once had about 20 Mexicans working on our roof and I remember going outside to ask if they wanted anything to drink and they were finished and gone without saying they were done or anything
I've seen Italians over in Italy work exactly like this they're about the same way they don't have time for b******* skip the clipboards and the the Foo Foo and all that pretentious s*** let's get down to business and make it happen!!!!!! 💯😎👍
My mom is Mexican and she grew up in Chihuahua Mexico. I've been to the house she grew up in. My Grandfather added a bathroom to the house before I was born. And that moment brought me to this video.
