It's so sad how they just fucked EVERYTHING George did, they've even made Luke seem like he's not even that good. Disney basically said "Leia was supposed to be the Hope, also she's a better swordfighter than him, and he's a hopeless hermit who abandoned all his friends to die so Luke just sucks he's a nobody."
I wish he didn't give it to Disney I don't gave a single fuck if it wouldn't be a new star wars films back then But at least the saga will end in the perfect way and no one will ever fucking dare to change it
Disney should work with George. Consulting everything and use his ideas to develop future new movies. Both would profit, even if Disney gonna get more % I believe box office and ratings would be way different with all fans knowing that George is full time involved.
@Matt S She owns Lucasfilms. She is not just a producer anymore. Both Disney and Kathleen need to approve the script before its turned into a real movie. So yeah, she is the one to blame.
And not just his work, but the work of HUNDREDS of game designers, comic book artists and writers, actors, authors, and numerous of people. All flushed down. Truly astounding
I think we forget that he originally started Lucas film so he create moves without corporate interference. It’s sad to see this man’s legacy become corporate husk of what it used to be. We can talk smack about the prequels all we want but it was still his vision.
@@Gallows182 The people who talk shit about the prequels are just absolute morons. The prequels were awesome, so much better then the pathetic, lifeless pos so called sequels
He used his position of power to get sexual with Cary Fisher. She wasnt a minor, but she was bipolar and very young. And he was the producer and director. He’s probably a genius. But pure? Nope
@@maishadigital8410 Let me guess your source is Reddit or Trustmebro. You folks seriously have a problem with unproblematic English white straight males being super successful (and its not only Lucas, Zack Snyder, Jared Leto etc..). So you stick these fabricated lies to them hoping they'll stick, to bring them down, but in reality its all fake news you twats propagate. Nice message you're sending out into the world..
FUCK THAT WOMAN She destroyed what 6 movies has created, a good universe, character, story, the law in the movie itself, she butchered them all in just three movies....
The foreshadowing of what happened with the sequels here is uncanny. It feels like George knew she was gonna betray him and do her own thing. But even more is the lies that come out of her mouth right in front of him. She knew what she was doing by gaining his trust and thus betraying him by basically throwing out all the scripts that George had written and turned Luke into a dejected, miserable old man who didn’t give a shit about anyone when he should have been a wise old master that always saw the good in someone and was willing to sacrifice himself to save that someone
Well, the idea was to keep the original legacy alive to give them "legend" status. And you do that by making junk after them to make the originals appear more important.
When I say me that we could have a Dark Maul return with his twi'lek red apprentice leading the underwolrd and Luke recreating the jedi (and not Rey) and Leia trying to do the Republic but this good story was flushed away like the thing were the first order and the rebellion were going to battle on Coruscant
Literally the first words out of Kathleen Kennedys mouth is bullshit lol she says "the main thing is protect these characters (luke, han, leia) and let them continue to live in the way you (george lucas) wrote them" like lmao wtf you did the complete exact opposite
Mark D. Nazaret Just hope so. Now I heard they’re going to SJW the hell out of Mara Jade from the Expanded Universe. Knowing Kennedy’s Bullshit story group.🙄🤦♂️
"everything she said there got flushed down the toilet" from a certain point of view maybe.. But not really. IN Order to keep things feeling new, and fresh, and to avoid millions of dollars in buy outs of old EU books, and comics which came out in under houses that didn't have a deal in place with Disney they retconned the old EU (which most casual fans don't know much about. Anyway..) in order to start with a new timeline and cannon which was more inline with the films, and they are drawing out the best elements from the old EU and putting them in the new cannon. I wouldn't doubt if we get characters like Mara Jade Skywalker along the way at some point. We don't know what Luke has been doing other then training Jedi's maybe he did meet a Mara Jade, and did have a kid or two also in the last 30 years before "The Force Awakens" how about we wait, and find out before we jump the gun? :D
It's painful how obvious she isn't there for anything George is saying. She's just letting him talk out of respect, but she's just there for the dollar signs.

to be honest they ruined Leia too. She went from a sassy, charismatic lass in the OT with great arc and big potential in EU, to a boring old woman who does nothing interesting or important.
"The main thing is protect these characters." Han abandons Leia and their Son, returning to a life of crime, and taking his best friend down with him... Luke does not revive the Jedi order, and becomes a hopeless, cynical old man. Leia completely fails as the leader of the New Republic, and allows an even more psychotic, neo-nazi group to almost immediately overthrow it. Anakin's sacrifice meant nothing. He did not restore balance to the Force. The Emperor did not die, so Anakin did not destroy the Sith, he only killed himself...Etc. etc.
Maybe he should include himself in that category. As the saying goes, what a nifty gifty is given us if we see ourselves as we see others, or vice versa. Lucas sees Disney as white slavers, he himself is known for not having a lot of black actors or stronger women in his SW films. His fears of diversity clashes with his humble sounding wish for all fans to enjoy SW in future. But some of us, while fans, remain traumatized by certain key scenes of violence and torture in his films. TESB: Luke gets his hand dismembered by the evil Lord who just said he's the boy's dad. ROTJ: Luke is electro-shocked by evil sorcery from the Emperor, right after his emotional battle against his father. The scene with Leia in the slave costume, where little kids could bear witness to her sexuality, is an all time low. IE: not everyone enjoys SW. Even a fan like me acknowledges this. Luke himself was right after all: it's time for the Jedi to end. End it now so we can achieve peace in the galaxy!!!
@Ianoodin You haven't had enough education in Hollywood lore. You've never heard talk of Lucas being racist, sexist, etc. Not to mention Lucas is diabetic. Yep, it's true. Do the research. Dig deeper. The truth will out.
I dunno about that - I'd say the truly evil ones are the Star Wars fanboy cunts who drove Lucas away from directing and filmmaking. Those dweebs are the real ones to blame for this shit.

Kathleen Kennedy to Rian Johnson : "you ever hear the tragedy of George Lucas the wise?...I thought not. It's not a story that Disney would tell you...he became so powerful, the only thing he was afraid of was losing his franchise and eventually of course he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew and then his apprentice killed his franchise. Ironic, he could save himself from hate, but not his franchise!"
After the show: Kathreen Kennedy turns on a dark robe and opens a hologram of Rian Johnson. Kathreen Kennedy: Execute Order 66 Rian Johnson: It will be done, my Lady And then you see all our beloved original characters destroyed and finally killed.
She's clueless... She is conveniently giving politically correct answers. When Lucas goes on his rants, you see her sitting there in utter confusion about any of the deeper meanings.
After only seeing these 3,5 minutes you can clearly see how much effort, philosophy, social and history studies of one man´s life experiences went into this universe we call Star Wars... I grew up with the prequels and after diving in to this universe again and again I come to this conclusion: The prequels weren't movies the old fan-base wanted, but they are the movies we needed. So much depth to the whole universe were added to the originals. Pff I think George actually wanted mankind to learn a lesson from his Science Fantasy World. And then he sold his soul ... He got betrayed, I think he even saw it coming but just hoped someone in Lucasfilm would be worthy enough to continue his work. Rian Johnson almost killed his universe.... but thankfully Dave and Jon are strong with the Force and are rebuilding the balance.
This is fiction remember can be bend anyway George Lucas created this into a story he can change it to how he wants people have been killed off but written back in say they didn't really die ..lol I think people get lost in the fantasy of it all but really the theme of star wars the one George created is one of hope no matter how these people have changed it a new hope the empire strikes back return of the Jedi they will always be the heart of star wars like Carrie Fisher Harrison ford mark Hamil Chewbacca r2d2 the gold robot forgot his name and of course little wise old yoda ,the theme to me and what it was as a kid to me is basically there is good and evil in this world the force is the unseen power we all have within us I'm not talking about an ego kind of power but an energy that runs though as all anyway besides the light saber fights I think that's how we connect with Luke Skywalkers character because that is very real.
"The main thing is to protect these characters and make sure they continue to live in the way that you created them" *Proceeds to kill Han, Luke and Leia*
+Spek Blue Hell, no! The Force Awakens is MUCH worse! Rogue One is pretty terrible, too. That being said, TLJ doesn´t come close to any of Lucas` movies.
"The main thing is to protect these characters, make sure they continue to live in the way that you created them, and that the universe of Star Wars continues to grow." Smirking as she said this, with such specific detail in that pledge, while failing to uphold any of those details tells any person with an ounce of sense she very much intended to disgrace the property, the characters, and the universe. I will never - and I am not alone - support a single thing that JJ Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy or Rian Johnson touches ever. Ever.
B E How so? The 3 new Star Wars movies have grossed more than 4 billion dollars worldwide. Audience interest is greater than when the prequels came out. I don't know where this franchise is failing.
Then maybe he shouldn’t have sold the franchise for $4 billion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Dude honestly, he didn’t have to do anything with the franchise. If he REALLY didn’t want anyone else to make changes to his material, then he shouldn’t have sold the rights. No one strong-armed him into it, he was quite willing to request a hefty, multi-billion dollar payment for his stake. The fact that people feel sorry for him for wanting to be a part of the creative process and being butthurt that they didn’t use his ideas after charging them $4 billion? Give me a break. Give me a FUCKING break.
Michael Benedict No one cares about how much money the new movies make. Hype and name brand alone can sell a lot. People are mad cause Disney is driving the universe and story of Star Wars to the ground.
Mr Niz Do you have amnesia? The prequels were bashed by critics and fans enough to where Lucas did not want to make anymore. The box office performance did well but nothing compared to how these new ones are performing. And money absolutely is the driving force of every movie franchise. Why would a franchise stop what they are doing if the formula is bringing in billions of dollars?
George's whole "think you're doing when you're actually not" speech is so clearly directed at Kathleen and other Disney execs. He's dealt with these people his whole career, he saved Star Wars from them for decades. He's fearless because he's retired. Look at him gesture to Kathleen when he says "how do people with the power and the freedom turn it over to somebody whose going to take it all away from him." HAHA. Going onto say "watch out because there are people out there who don't play by the rules (looks at Kathleen aka President of Lucasfilms)." Something fucked up happened with his deal with Disney. He got bought out but they got more than he planned somehow, I'm sure their lawyers did something really fucked up in the deal.
+jedijones I understand where you are coming from, but let's face it Harrison Ford isn't getting any younger (or cheaper) he probably only agreed to return for TFA on the condition he was killed off (he's by far the most popular of the OT actors, killing him off early gives the new cast members more room to breath and develop), frankly I thought Han should have died back in ROTJ anyway, his arc was complete i.m.o, it's rather telling that he goes back to being a smuggler in TFA, obviously even Lawrence Kasdan couldn't think of anywhere else to take him.
Paul Ashwell Well fuck Kasdan and I hate to say this, fuck Ford. George Lucas is an asshole, but he clearly understands his own universe. Han is to cool to die. Could have died of old age. I'm fine with Harrison hating Star Wars.. Pretty much all of the cast hates it. The only people who give a shit about the fans are Mark, Anthony, Kenny, Peter and Jones.
+MALayhee700 I totally get why you are p*ssed, but it's not Lucas's universe anymore, he sold the rights willingly to one of the most commercially driven companies in Hollywood with no concrete guarantee he ideas and treatments would be used, he's been in the business long enough to know how hollywood works. I really liked TFA personally, though I understand why others don't, Star Wars has inspired so many filmmakers and actors over the years I'm glad that Lucas has now given them the freedom and possibility of exploring the universe in the way they want to, at the end of the day it's all just sci-fi family friendly escapism, if the new films all turn out to be crap, just ignore them. Honestly I think Han had to die either brutally or heroically (TFA managed both i.m.o) to give the new film some weight, really there wasn't much further they could have taken the character, you are right Han's cool and a legend, but that makes his death all the more tragic...
Paul Ashwell Han Solo. The man who made the Kessel run. The man who survived and escaped the death star. Was able to flee from Jabba. Escaped a heavy imperial fleet on Hoth. Flew through the asteroid field. Destroyed the shield generator on Endor... He dies on a bridge killed by a punk who worships a grandfather he doesn't even really know. It's like Optimus being killed by Starscream, just really not dignifying.
if Luke was a perfect Jedi master there would be NO story. This isn't the life and times of Luke Skywalker. Did you really expect hime to say "cool. you found me my lightsaber?" Obi Wan died in A New Hope and he still had a part in the story. George Lucas said that the prequels dealt with young energetic men while the OT was about boys and old old men. the sequels it's back to old men. Obi Wan told him "Your eyes can decieve you," don't you want to see what that means? Don't you know the pressure one would face bringing back a religion and raising your nephew? It's not all puppies and rainbows. Don't you know how taking care of your sibling's kids feels like? I know and it scares the crap out of me.
Kennedy: “We don’t have source material, no books, no comics, no shit to build on...” Lucas: “I made a shit load of money off the mentioned books, comics, spin-off series, etc. over the years..it’s gift-wrapped to you”
Ludra1 they admitted the new Disney SW is not canon at all. It's the SW canon u should then support. They threw out the canon and trashed it royally. GL kinda got shafted here as did Luke. He looks sad here. Disney wanted the SW franchise for eons. Space movies aren't their thing. They're very good at what they do but this isn't it. Fans saw this Disney SW thang as not a good idea and were right. But I'm an old school SW fan who still thinks the canon and jedi texts shoulda been better protected. lol. GL, I fangirl that guy. He creates amazing works. He refused to sell and insisted on doing it his way. Eventually he caved so he could pursue new things and gave a lot of the money to charity... a class act right there for those things! True royalty imo.
You can tell George never really wanted to sell the franchise. He did it because he knew he was getting older and wouldnt be able to give the fans what they wanted. He should have stuck with his gut and went to the grave with his legacy. Would have been much better for the franchise. Disney told him what he wanted to hear and then stabbed him right in the back as soon as his signature was on the contract.
@@brandonevans3267 Have you seen "the people vs george lucas"? People were saying he raped their childhood, other where saying he was worst than a holocaust denier, other saying that he was a disgrace and a horrible human being. They made a movie about how "the real george" was kidnapped and replaced by a "soulless, talentless hack" and that the real george was devastated about what they did to star wars. So many people were assholes that is a miracle the dude stayed with the franchise as long as he did. And he was doing great! The Clone Wars, Underworld (he had 50 scripts ready) and 1313 all sounded awesome! But it seems none of his childrens wanted to run Lucasfilm so he had no "heir" and he wanted to raise his daughter (just like he did all his other children) and knew he had to choose between raising his kid or making the ST himself. I honestly respect the guy, I love the original 6 episodes, but the way "fans" treated him was disgusting.
"The main thing is protect these characters." - Killed Solo on the first sequel. - Turned a guy that confronted face to face his own father and the Emperor into a grumpy whiny old man that gave up on everything. - Turned Leia into a character that spent most of her time hugging people. - Substituted these with: - A stormtrooper that made jokes and shout "REEEEEY!!" a lot. - A character that learned the ways of the force in a couple of days, with minimal training, defeating the villain that trained most of his life, by not only Luke, but by Snoke, which was the Emperor in disguise. - The best fighter pilot in the resistance that had the amazing arc of becoming... The same character he was on the first movie, basically And the villains? Oh, yeah, one was a puppet to the same villain of the original trilogy and the other was a Darth Vader wannabe that got defeat by a character that learned the force in a couple of days, like... Every time they faced the Darth Vader wannabe was defeated by her. Yep, great job. The arcs, the character growth, the way the main character had to suffer huge personal losses... ...that were reverted 5 minutes later when she learned that friend that died 5 minutes ago was alive after all. And the struggles to learn the force? Oh my god, she suffered so much. The way she had to grow stronger after being defeated by Kylo Ren... Oh wait, never mind, she won every fight, even the ones where she barely knew how to control the Force. lmao
The biggest betrayal of George's mythological legacy is the new Trilogy taking what was essentially the story of a father sacrificing himself to protect his children and turning it into some matriarchal wet dream where the grandson sacrifices himself towards a woman, in memory of his mother, in order for her to hold the ultimate authority on what is right even though she strikes to kill him when he hesitates. She doesn't see any value in Kylo Ren's sacrifice or redemption, only seeing it as a whisper of his inherent good that justifies her perfection. It's almost disgusting how Kennedy took the mythos of a universal dark and light and tried to re-engineer it to represent the divinity of women, hence why she says the force is female. It's why all major moral decisions in the new trilogy made and judged by women in authority. This is the world she thinks we should live in, not the one George Lucas was working towards.
Man, hearing George talk about how he wants more fans to be able to enjoy the films makes me feel sad for him. What he says in the second half of the video sounds eerily like a description of Kathleen Kennedy and the future of Star Wars.
I never thought I'd say this but I kind of want George back. Not as director but as producer who oversees things. He shouldn't approve everything and still give them some freedom, but without him, I feel like Disney is going to take SW in a weaker direction. George, for one, would've never allowed this stupid TFA rehash shit. When he left the TFA premiere he just politely said "I liked it" when he said beforehand he was excited to finally see a SW movie without the pressures of being involved. His short, after-premiere response says it all. He privately thought it was a fucking joke and couldn't believe how much they took from ANH.
Are you referring to the terrible Charlie Rose interview, where he attempted to eviscerate George with redirections in the conversation and cold, hard questions, never letting up? You can search for that interview on RU-vid; that's how I found it.
Oh, you want him back now! All because this woman ruined SW for you, now you want him back. The same guy you and the rest of the fans berated, degraded, and hailed on!
Why would you never think you'd say that? Star Wars IS George Lucas. It's all his imagination brought to life by incredible artists and engineers. TFA feels so empty because it was created by a board of directors
@@aakashsaini2184 He said turn themselves into evil people by not caring about people. I think that may be a better description of Kathleen than 'pure evil', like George says, she thinks she is doing good by forcing post-modern ideas onto people through Star Wars. At 2:17 when George says ' the idea that some of us think we are really great people but we're not...run your life in a selfish way, think you're doing good when you're not.' and Kathleen really doesn't get it (not self-aware enough) by replying 'maybe you're just making bad decisions'. This interview is actually fascinating in hindsight.
Everyone saying the prequels were not good, then you didnt understand the movies, the politics, the crisis, evolution of a villain , a mastermind the ethics everything . Lucas you are a genius!!!!! You made the best film saga ever!!
Jeremy W There is a big difference between creating an interesting world and an enjoyable, coherent movie. I think the prequel scripts are amazing. As films, they're blazing piles of shit. (sorry, of course I'm using my opinion to make a point. I know that's not worth much)
rocketcon you're right, of course. I couldn't excuse the written dialogue. That was terrible. The story arc of episode 1-3 was okay, though, wasn't it? Just needed some improvement in character motivations and relationships.
Haha I just noticed something too. George is clearly talking about Kathleen and Disney just before he gives Kathleen that look, then claps his hands abrasively. Just classic.
only way to save starwars, is for them to reverse her decision on banning the extended universe and instead, start making movies out of it. its the only way fans will come back. but if they truly wanted to fix it, they would instead, throw out the 7,8,9 entirely and do it over, putting all the blame on kathleen. if she tries to take it to court, just demand a jury, and she will lose.
Damn. I really feel the regret in George's words, he is trying to hard to say the issues in the nicest way possible. George knows how to uphold the franchise, the brand and the overall idea of the starwars universe and what role it has for the fans. Kathleen doesn't respect this at all and puts political correctness and her own taste above everything. George may have picked Kathleen as the new president for Lucasfilm, but he clearly sees she's not doing it right.
The blame rests completely with Disney, they told George anything he wanted to hear just to get him to sign. George Lucas and Mark Hamill were deceived and the fans ultimately betrayed.
This woman is the incarnation of Palpatine. She talks about protecting the characters created by George and now she's slaying one by one. I hope these people pay dearly for their lack of vision and excess of greed someday.
"The main thing is to protect these characters, make sure that they still continue to live in the way you created them..." - Kathleen Kennedy TLJ Spoiler: Then Luke tries to kill his padawan because he feels the dark side in him altough he tried absolutely everything to bring the most evil person in the entire galaxy back to the light side (darth vader in episode 6) and then he wants the jedi to end just because he made a mistake himself? Thats not the Luke Skywalker that was created by Lucas, not one bit
You are wrong. He didn’t try “absolutely everything” to bring Vader back to the light side. After discovering Vader was his father, Luke had exactly ONE confrontation with Vader and a very brief conversation where he told Vader he felt there was still good in him, and Vader tells him it’s too late for him (Vader). Luke gives up on Vader at that point and says “Then my father is truly dead.” BOOM. End of fucking conversation. Vader brought Luke before the Emperor, and neither Luke or Vader had any more conversation, other than Vader taunting Luke. Vader only turns when he see’s the Emperor killing Luke and Luke writhing in pain and calling out to Vader. That is Vader’s turning point. Luke didn’t do jack-shit to try to bring Vader back to the light. In fact, Luke gave up on it when Vader told him it was too late. Luke wanting the Jedi to end had only partly to die with Luke’s actual failure with Ben/Kylo. When Luke went seeking the first Jedi temple, he was searching for deeper answers, deeper truths to help him in his path. Luke realized he had a moment of weakness and went searching for deeper meaning and to understand how he failed. What he ends up discovering was that the Jedi veered far off course from what they started out as, and that their arrogance prevented them from seeing what was right in front of them, thus allowing Palpatine to seize control of the galaxy and wipe the Jedi out of existence (almost). Luke also saw that the dogmatic approach to the Force by the Jedi nor the quest for ultimate power of The Sith was the correct path. Luke discovered that the Force is more than the Jedi or Sith understood - that it’s the very fabric of existence. There is no light or dark, there is only The Force. It’s how you use it that matters. That was why Luke felt the Jedi, like the Sith needed to end. However, Luke then comes to the realization that only the Jedi path as it was when they fell needed to end. The Jedi Order needed to go back to its roots, back to being true practitioners of The Force We as fans, cannot expect a character who was 23 when we last saw him on the big screen to be the exact same 30 years later. Nobody is. I like that Rian Johnson showed us that Luke was not perfect and that he was susceptible to failure (just like everyone else). Luke ends his journey and comes full circle and embraces who he is, who he isn’t, and his place within the Force. He does the most noble and heroic thing someone can do and that was sacrificing himself so others could live. He is at peace with himself, and his greater understanding of his place within the Force. This is what allows him to become one with the Force. It was a great arc for Luke, and the perfect sendoff for a legend
“Then my father is truly dead.” - No, snozzlehead92 is NOT wrong. Luke said that in retort, said that to try to wind up and provoke Anakin. And it had the desired effect, according to the long lingering shot as Luke has gone up in the lift and Anakin / Vader looks out of the window. Luke knew what he was doing. When he got to the Emperor, the Emperor says "by now you must know that your father cannot be turned." - Again that's in the script for 3 reasons - 1 it's what the character would say to wind the other character up 2 it's to remind us of Luke's goal and 3 it's to raise that issue of the doubt that must be in Luke's mind. Otherwise, if there were no doubt, it would serve no purpose. It would ruin the scene for anyone who thinks it's not still a goal for Luke to turn his father. Finally, no he didn't just have a conversation with Ben, he's obviously been stewing on this for "about six months" (Lucas c.1983) or whatever period you deem in between 5 and 6, and he is totally peroccupied it through the whole film, telling all and sundry about it. And he goes against the two jedi, he puts himself at risk, he risks involving Leia, for this one goal. ...I think your wider point is that look wasn't such a great hero because his wanting to save Anakin, and the way he did it, wasn't all that impressive, and I can see how somebody could have that view, and therefore we should not hold Luke up. I can see that. And i can even see your explanation of what he became. But all of that could have been shown in episode 7 and 8 if they wanted to do him justice, rather than the poor writing that seem to be these prequels.
FYI . . . Luke DID risk everything to save his father when he dropped his lightsaber - leaving himself defenseless before Emperor Palpatine - after bringing Vader to his knees. You could clearly see the anger rising in Luke as he whaled on Vader, you could clearly see the Emperor getting off on seeing it . . . and then Luke turned away from the dark side, refusing to cut Vader down in anger. Which left him completely at the mercy of these two evil dudes, with his only hope left being that he had gotten through to his father.
Did you guys see? George literally starts talking about his story treatment and KK interrupts to talk about how they don't have a source to keep the story going.
0:47 to quote kathy "the main thing is to protect these characters, make sure they lived in the way you created them" well that'd be well and good if you didn't kill off fan favs like solo and bring in trash... ruined the whole legacy Disney did.
Can't really blame Disney on this. Disney just greenlights the projects and write the checks. Evil bitch actually runs the show with how the movies are developed.
Danny Dea so I should have directed the end at Kathy? Just double checking, because if what you say is true, I don't know how on earth they could leave someone so out of touch with what the fans wanted and the overall legacy of Star Wars in general in charge. It is mind boggling... Doesn't seem like she really ever cared for Star Wars with some of the decisions that have been made.
I don't get how creators could be so clueless. Go ahead and bring in new characters without decimating the old one's, especially legendary ones. Unfortunately this is quite common with Hollywood writers. No common sense!
"As we work our way through these scripts if we're sitting here and saying - I wonder if this character can do that? Or does this make sense within the rules of Star Wars? George is the keeper of the flame when it comes to that." Ahh but you didn't give a crap about any of that did you Kathleen. Flying invincible Leia from TLJ kinda proves that.
Ha!! " The main thing is to protect these characters and continue to grow them as you originally created them". 2 films later, Han and Luke r dead, leia is sadly out of ep9 and for some reason Lando is nowhere to be found. She's such a joke.
It's amazing she lied this much ON CAMERA. When we look back at this first era of Disney Star Wars, she will be entirely responsible for its failing, as she went against everything she has said here.
He literally said how they would betray Starwars before they did it. But they call him narcissistic for being the brains of the characters and script ideas.
One of the saddest discussions I've seen on camera... Poor George, she literally is a Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious type character... snuck in there through lies and manipulation, pretending to be on the side of good, yet as soon as everything got signed, she took control and scrapped everything she promised to uphold.
