What you see is what you get honey , Flip was the funniest comedy act on tv in the early 1970s. My dad had a flip wilson doll with Geraldine on one side and flip on the other. Pull the string and it said ... what you see is what you get honey , whooo!!!
My mother and I love Flip Wilson he was a brilliant actor and the most funniest comedian ever in those day miss him RIP Geraldine Flip Wilson you are truly missed 🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️
When I'm feeling down I watch flip/Geraldine and I laugh and realize things aren't as bad as I make them. He is truly missed. Good, clean laughs. R.I.P Mr . Jones.
CLASSIC comedy sketch........from one of the most underrated, truly hilarious individuals to ever walk the Earth. Flip Wilson; 1 of the TRUE original "KINGS OF COMEDY".
@@torilakes3238 I wonder about that too? I never did and I have watched Flip Wilson when he's show first started ⭐🕊️❤️🕊️ Missing Ya FliP Wilson And Miss Geraldine Jones 💕
@@torilakes3238 - (smile) No; we were never able to see Killer as far as I remember. It’s funny though, we all have our own thoughts about how Killer looks!😃
I always did like the flip Wilson show been watching it ever since I was a kid back in the early days and now I'm still watching it and I'm in my sixties what a treat flip Wilson was the best the impression of Geraldine I had a sister who act just like those impressions flip Wilson may you rest in heavenly peace
I love Flip Wilson! He does a great comedian! He does a great Geraldine!! So sad he died so young! I have his biography. It is so good! I really enjoyed it! I will definitely read it again!!
He was truly a trip. "I don't think I like your Attitude!" His jokes, facial expressions, attitude, dancing, his looks and movements were priceless. I watched this show growing up and it is still funny today as it was in the past. Your are greatly missed Mr Flip Wilson. RIP 💝💝💝 2019
I also watched this as a kid, I didn't really appreciate Geraldine then I do now. Thank you for the memories of a time when things were simpler and fun. Loved her attitude, style. What a treasure to pass on to my grandbabies.
Even though flip Wilson is gone thank god for technology that allows his memory to live on Geraldine is soooo funny Rest In Peace flip your memory will live on
@@Omega1st I just looked it up. Didn't think to before. I grew up watching Flip, but never knew what drag queen was at the time. Hearing the terminology of course since then, I couldn't reconcile it in my mind. By definition looks like that's exactly what he was doing, but not what I picture "drag queens" to be today. noun A man, especially a performer, who dresses as a woman.A male who dresses up in women's clothing, typically for public performance. The man's clothing and makeup are typically greatly exaggerated, so the end result is typically a parody of women in general." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_queen
I just love this show when I keep watch over 48 hours from former decades / current catchy Channel weekends every year wow I love all her characters on every his shows made laugh My favorite performance was Flip Wilson played cook and owner of small town restaurant and Ruth Gordon played actress who was stuck from nowhere and need tire wrench by herself That’s great small drama
Y'all also know that if if miss geraldine didn't exist there most definitely wouldn't have been sheneneh jenkins from the great black 90's sitcom MARTIN. martin lawrence , eddie murphy and jamie foxx and others owe him a great debt to this man. RIP Mr. Wilson.
I know this response is to a 2 year old comment, but I think that Mr Wilson would have killed this female persona Geraldine if he knew that some 50 plus years later black men in particular would still dress like women in front of a camera. At this point its an old, tired joke that makes black men look weak. They don't owe anything for a legacy of demonstrative behavior.
I Don't Like That Shit, not really. That’s like saying Richard Pryor jokes (who was also around back then) aren’t funny anymore. 🙄. But I can see if your reaching, n looking for something more, how a man in a dress could not be funny. To me a man in a dress is a funny bit, n will always be, nothing more. Same for a women who does a mans role it’s funny.
Carlton Medina sandy Kay Ballard jiust have a good night and I will see you saandrakayballardlpvehegod soon 😍 sandy is going to the Benny Hill party have you saandrakayballardlpvehegod
Wow - how exciting! I’m sure you had a million questions about the taping of the show, if they saw him close up, etc…. Wonderful memory, thanks for sharing…☺️
I'm diggin' Geraldine's outfit (-hat), and boots. Wishin' there was a shop that specializes in her wardrobes... There's always a 70's Partay somewhere!
The humor was hilarious 😂 and dying art now. Comedians aren't allowed to exist without being sarcastic or accused of being racist now. Everyone is so politically correct there's no humor any more.
Thanks for this upload! Miss those days. I have this skit on vinyl audio only. Buried somewhere. I used to watch this show and I couldn't wait for Geraldine to show up!
Hot pants, hot damn. He didn’t have to wear that dress to be funny. Coming from where he came from and becoming the mega star he was, he didn’t need a gimmick. I know what was guiding his footsteps, the lord above smiled on him. He was a role model, an activist and not afraid to show his many personalities. I luv you Flip
The funny thing is, with his frame he pulls it off and boggles my mind! If he was alive today in that same build and it was still popular, fashion designers would probably throw clothes on him just so he can wear their brand! Like the Devil Wears Prada!:)
Flip Wilson's outrageous creation "Geraldine Jones" is the ultimate ghetto fabulous woman. RuPaul was clearly influenced by this. I doubt you would find a mainstream African American male comedian who would dare to perform this type of skit in the 21st Century.Different times, but brilliant stuff.
+Rob Jones Come on Man...All the black actors and comedians dress up in DRAG. way too many for me to tell you about. Look it up, must be at least 100 of em.
"You know you look just like yourself. . . ?" LOL!! Has anyone else noticed that every time Flip Wilson is doing a scene as Geraldine, whoever's playing opposite him cant resist the urge to laugh. . .? X-P
Thanks for posting this blast from the past! Flip is AWESOME as Geraldine! Best line?....as he/she is passing out....."don't hold that bucket to close, I think it's the fumes from the Chicken Delicious", LOL!
