Miniaturist Journal 104. Come along with me on a little tour of the German fair 1 zu 12, Die Messe. On the weekend of May 25th and 26th, I visited the German miniatures fair in Rheda-Wiedenbrück.
I saw some wonderful new miniaturists and of course bought one or two miniatures myself. OK, more than two. 😉

Englhart’s work is truly amazing! And how wonderful that he donates all profits to the charity. Thank you for showing us a few of the incredibly talented artisans. And the water contraption was indeed an eye opener!

Engelhardt’s paper cutting is a work of art and dedication to the children he helps support. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. A friend is considering going to the Edmonton Show from Vancouver. I only mention it as it is an 11 hour drive! The Vancouver Show was last Sunday - a great atmosphere and vendors. So lucky we now have an annual Show here. Regards J

The papercutter's work was simply Incredible! The variety of his subject matter and the precision of each of his miniscule cuts is beyond comprehension. The dance around the Maypole you've chosen, looks Lovely on the wall and yet I am eager to see where you'll put the big one which I am totally In Love With! The intensity of the blue sky background and the magnificence of the nesting cranes on the rooftop is an Absolute Showstopper! No wonder your eyes were constantly drawn to it, Josje; an EXCELLENT choice! 💝

Thank you so much for sharing this video of the Miniatures Fair in Germany with us. Isn't Engelhardt an incredibly talented Miniaturist. I'm in love with his tiny paper pictures that he cuts out by hand! They're so detailed and beautiful. It's rare to see skill like this these days because machines like Cricut and all the die cut machines are used now to cut out detailed images. I can't even imagine how he made these beautiful pictures with only a pair of embroidery scissors. BTW, there's a big Miniatures Fair coming up in Melbourne, Australia - where I live - in July - and I sincerely hope that some of you can come and see it. The Australian dollar is not doing well at the moment, which makes it very cheap for Americans and Europeans to come over here. Love from Amanda in Melbourne

You always find the most interesting things! Thank you so much for taking us with you! And I am absolutely in love with those tiny scissor cut pieces of art! I love them in full size and to see them in miniature is amazing! He seems like an absolutely lovely man! The tiny food made me hungry also😂 Thank you for including that you thought you smelled bread! That’s adorable!

Thank you for the video. I would have loved to go but could not this time. Four of my Swedish friends were there. Maybe you met Christina? She said she would look for you. As you now she will be in Tune too. I also love the small paper Cuts and have a couple from earlier years. I will look for the miniature Proxxon items on the web. All the best, Monica
