The original paint was alteady gone decades ago from other repaints. This time they tried to duplicate the camo of the V1 hull and the camo of the V2 turret, like the example they assembled during 1945/46 to be shipped in Russia for evaluation.

Love the Mouse as a technological achievement. Military asset value remains unknown. Allied bombing stopped production cold. Otherwise Maus units would have seen combat!

Only one entered battle and there is no known record of it ever firing in battle but amazing machine for its time there is a whole episode about it on war factory the series

They made 2 prototypes. 1 was destroyed so the Soviets wouldn't get their hands on it. But the Red Army was alr bombing the factory where the Maus was made so that how the Red Army got 1 of them. So long story this never saw battle.

Just a curious fact - the hammer and sickle were originally painted by the german engineers. They can be seen on some of the development photos.

It was not a waste of resources because Germany had a lot of materials but no gas or oil and Hitler was obsessed with a tank so resistant it could withstand everything if the Soviets came and I think a mouse bunker hehe

this is the "Patriot" park in Russia, there are collected different models of tanks, from small Japanese tanks to Soviet Object 279 and various guns, I was there, I really liked it there

Too bad they scrapped the interiors of both Mauses, the hull of the blown up one and the weight turret of the other. But they at least preserved this assembled example not like british and americans that totally scrapped alot of interesting and unique german veihcles, showing their ignorance.

Especially since hiding it would be next to impossible. So no, I wouldn’t be speaking German if the mouse when into mass production, as I said, the war would have been over sooner with an allied victory.
