I just bought the 50mm saturn. What aperture should i shoot at for the best cinema look/ bokeh? (Kind of a newbie) what number should i line it up to ?
Nice dude! Depends on the scene and the shot. Always go for what you want in focus first, then add creativity. You might find F4 has what you want in focus, so if you went below that you have to make a decision whether to pull focus between 2 things, or just deal with some stuff being out of focus :) Hope this makes sense
So 50mm FF on the C70 is more like 75mm (or something like that,) correct? And would you still recommend this lens today? 35 mm too wide> Thanks for the video. Subscribed.
Super 35 is roughly 1.5x Full frame. So you are correct. I think this is a killer lens! But really need to get a kit if you are wanting to shoot anamorphic. Just having 1 lens is hard to work in with other lenses
Imho 1.6x is a bit too much on the c70. You´re ending with a 2,84:1 (in UHD) an then you need to cut too much of the edges. Iam using a 1.5x on the C300 mk iii and thats really the limit imho.
@@theliving_grant hey, 9 month later i don't thick it's wrong but your giving away pretty much resolution. And you're losing the nice edges from the anamorph
@@chakk0 thank you for the response. I've been going slightly crazy trying to understand the ins and outs of aspect ratios anamorphic lenses. I filmed 4k dci in conjunction with this lens and the edges don't seem to be cropped off. Editing it in a 4096 x 1716 sequence, which I believe is cinemascope 2:39. The matting on the top and bottom is a lot though. So yes, no cropped edges but the picture takes up a very narrow field of view on the screen.
