Thank you doctor from Ohio USA for taking the time to better educate me and others. I am 49 and have had palpitations for about 13-14 years. Mostly annoying really but otherwise I'm healthy. I just had a cardioversion and the palpitations came back after three days. I wish I wouldn't have but I drank a can of caffeinated soda and the next day they came back. I've decided to eat clean and take your advice in these videos. I have faith they will stop by incorporating your advice. Thanks again!

@@Wrath_Starz they did until I went back to a poor diet. Got lazy I guess. I have been slowly eating better as well as adding turmeric and magnesium. For me, a regular sleep schedule and drinking more water, as well as the better diet and supplements, are helping after a couple of months.

Well said dear. Each and every word you said is the truth . I hope other doctors think the same way as you think . The doctors only rely on the technology not on the life style and diet etc. As you said finding the cause should be the priority . I don’t believe in modern treatment and taking lots of medicines and suffering with the side affects. It doesn’t cure but only suppress the problem.After listening to your videos I have the courage to handle the situations with the doctors. I will slowly taper the medicines and will stop if necessary. I have no major problems just a minor hypertension . I am not diabetic. My cholesterol is little bit high. I don’t drink alcohol neither cola’s , juices or soft drinks . I am not overweight. Still my doctor is insisting me to take medicines for cholesterol and blood pressure. I am very thankful and grateful that you have the courage to talk openly without fear of criticism. Keep up the good work dear.

Sometimes the skin gets slightly tight on my chest and on my neck. It isn't too intense but I still notice it. During those times I sometimes have a slight increase in heart rate (being between 94-100) and my normal heart rate is between 76-84. This normally occurs after I eat. One day my heart rate went up to around 121 and I felt tightness in a small area in my chest muscles. Whenever I feel this tightness I never have shortness of breath or any other symptom, just a fast heart rate and that slight pressure.

I am 16 years old and I have had these palpatations for a while now I am young so this brings a lot of concern to myself and I am trying my hardest as of now to beat these. The last one that happend was about a month ago and it lasted about 2hours and that's the longest Its ever been and longer than anyone elses I've heard of. So my father took me to a heart specialist and he brought up a lot of the same stuff you did. My EKG came out fine, but they did tell me to get this thing that attaches to my phone and it can record what's going on when put up to you're chest. Hopefully I won't have to use it because I'm really going to work on this diet because I am in fact over weight. I also wanted to ask if smoking marijuana will cause this because I have been smoking cannabis for two years because it helps me sleep, but lately I havnt been smoking it because I've felt a slight weakness and shortness of breathe, that alone should awnser my question but either way I'd like to know because I haven't felt like that before

Thank you for all this advice, I had heart palpitations, which came on suddenly, and caused me a great deal of panic, thinking I was going to die. I did a quick trip to the local hospital. Anyway after seeing a heart specialist, who said my heart was quite ok, but he recommended blood thinners and something to slow the heart down. The one you did on Magnesium and how important it is, was most interesting, so I bought some tablets and after about 5 days the palpitations started to settle down and disappeared, and now 3 months later there has been no sign of them. I haven't taken the blood thinners or any other medication, I am back to normal as before all this started. My problem started after drinking White wine and coffee during the evening for several nights with a friend, anyway no more wine or coffee. Thank you so much for your videos, they are so good. Cheers, Howard B

I have been researching palpitations and health disorders for over ten years. I'm very happy to have come across your videos. I think you are awesome. Just a quick question, based on what I believe is a primary cause of so many health problems. What is your take on the influence of glyphosate and MSG ? You mentioned that you think wine is worse than beer, but my understanding at this point is that both can be bad because of these two ingredients. Most doctors and even naturopathic doctors dance around this basic and major problem. You are so right about magnesium and heart palps. Works for me. But also I know that if I have anything in it with hidden msg, I will get heart palps. Keep up the great work. I'm going to follow you.

Well, my regular doctor just fired me a wk ago! He had ordered me Lisinopril for high blood pressure which i had been taking for 6 months, plus the water pill. The water pill depleted my potassium. My heart was flipping a lot for hours mainly after i ate a meal. I ended up in the ER two times in two days! Did all the tests. Ekg only showed some pac's even tho i could feel them constantly. But the blood test showed i was low on potassium. The number was 3.4 where it should have been 3.6 or at 4 best. They gave me two huge potassium pills on each nite. Second nite potassium still the same number. I went to my doctor and he at least prescribed me 7 days of potassium and another drug Losartan for the high blood pressure. I am female 68. He was very mad tho that i did not want to take the Lisinopril as i read it can cause angeodema a swelling of the tongue and throat which is an emergency.....even if you took it for ten yrs with no side effects suddenly you could have an allergic reaction. Harms the kidneys, liver and causes diabetes. I also was on a 24 hr Holter monitor, but the hospital never sent him the report so i don't know what it showed. He told me he would see me a couple more times to check and see if the Losartan worked, but then i had to find another doctor. I was supposed to see him Thurs. but i was terrified and i canceled. I am now looking for another doctor. I do have a holistic MD i am seeing next wk too., but i need a regular doctor. One should not be terrified to see their doctor. Oh, Lisinopril is made from the Brazillian Pit Viper snake who kills it's prey by lowering the blood pressure. The losartan is helping me, but i am also taking Hawthorn and hope to wean off the drug.
@marie1700
@marie1700 7 лет назад
I forgot to say that i am still getting the flips after i eat a meal and i am now afraid to eat. I lost 3 lbs in ten days. This just started ten days ago. I would get pvc's and pac's now and then but never like this. I find sometimes i can eat a small meal like one avacado or one banana and heart won't flip, but if i eat a regular full meal my heart still flips even tho i am taking the potassium. I need another blood test to see where the potassium is, but need a doctor for that. I am looking now. After i eat my heart will flip for hours like 7-9 hours! I also stopped the Lisinopril as i read it can cause heart palpatations too.

I don't drink caffeine or carbonated drinks but I do socially drink alcohol and definitely have a lack of sleep. I kept telling them I think it's a magnesium issue and finally they listened. My mag, potassium and vitamin d levels are all low. They still hesitate to help me. Told me to do it naturally but I can't eat enough lettuce and bananas fast enough. I'll try the supplements and see how that works. I also stopped the drinking months ago (with the occasional drink here and there). Thank you for these videos. Someone mentioned about having pvc's as a child, and they are worried. So I want to tell them not to worry, because I am mid-50's and have had pvc's off and on since I was about ten years old. Doctors always mentioned how healthy my heart is, and not to worry about the pvc's. So, I didn't. When they flare up, (every few months, or every few years) I just try to ignore them. I exercise a lot, always have, and have worked outside all of my life, so I'm saying that I'm very fit, and there is nothing wrong with my heart. I just have a lot of pvc's, that's all. I don't use alcohol, or smoke, but I do drink coffee.

I appreciate the insight! I've def been drinking too much alcohol lately. Cut out coffee after first major palpitation and it helped a bit. Had a few crazies nights w friends and they came back. Saying goodbye to the booz for a bit!

Hey Dr. Gupta! Thanks for your helpful talks! Question about carbonated drinks - We have a soda stream and the only ingredient we use is the Co2, no flavourings. It's like Perrier or San pellegrino. Any downside to this, other than how bad C02 is for the environment :(

i was suffering from severe palpitation issue for more than a decade, but only came to know that caffeine plays this huge role in raising your irregular heartbeat recently . I wonder how come physicians emphasys more on medication rather to control it naturally , such as cut down the responsible ones. fortunately, i am doing as 90% better than before since i have quit to consume soda (regular or diet) tea ( even the Green tea) coffee and smoking ..... i am living a way comfortable and peaceful life . will ask people to follow this who ever are suffering with it. Thanks Dr Gupta .... you are awesome !

You are a Godsend. Thank you for all your help. Listening to you gives us excellent advice, and you deliver it in such an educated, commonsensical, calm way sometimes just listening to one of your videos helps them subside…….or your videos are really long :). But honestly, thank you and may God continue to bless you!

Hey Doc. Great videos. Very informative. I get a middle of the night heart racing or morning after racing heart when i drink more than 4 drinks very often for the last 6 or 7 years. When i have 1 -3 I usually do not get it. Is it the depletion of electrolytes thats causing this? When I wake up with racing heart my anxiety makes it twice as worse, ugh. I try to drink earlier now and not close to bed and hydrate for a few hours and I think it helps especially a smart water with electrolytes. Should I be worried about these episodes ?

This guys awesome, be nice if he had a better camera lol... but man thanks for your videos. I had svt and before I got it fixed by ablation I felt terrible even when not in svt I felt like crap, tired all the time irritation in my chest and it got predominantly worse leading to the months before the ablation. After the ablation I felt like a million bucks from the second I woke up, not short of breath anymore no chest discomfort etc... 2 years later I havnt had svt again but I’m starting to feel like major crap again, super tired all the time, chest discomfort etc what could be causing this? I am set for another ep study just to see what’s going on

I get ectopics up to a week after a big night out and always thought them related but couldn't find any good explinations. I often thought it was due to excercise, which I do a lot of. It was good to hear it here and have the reasons explained. I had a holter and ultrasound and it was all good. Time to change the lifestyle! Though infrequent, mine can take my breath away and really stop me in my tracks for a split second...theyre infrequent but strong. Simple solution though which is cut down alcohol. Well explained...thank you

Hello there and thank you for the video. I have had 4 years of torture with palpitations. Most of the time my stomach will flutter and then i know the palpitations will follow. I dont consume ahlcohol, or caffiene.and No chocolate. I have had at least 6 ekg,s in and out of the emergency room visits and cardiology visits. I had the big stress test done in the office. I have had an upper and lower GI done.Most of the time they come with no food in my stomach. All i drink is water for my liquids. My gastro doctors put me on a powder called Cholestymine , twice a day. It worked for a while and now back with a vengance. My doctor says that the Bile my body is producing is not binding in the lower intestines and therfore comming back up the stomach. I also take a pill for stomach spasm that work sometimes, but i think it is a fluke when it does. Its called Dicylomine. I do feel that my dijestive track is the reason for the palpitations,. When my stool is soft i have palpitations. But when my stool is hard i get no plapitations. Please help. Thank You!
