I had a "silent heart attack" when I was 61 and never fully realized it until my primary care doc sent me to a cardiologist who ran tests and determined there was some damage to the heart. I can remember when it happened because I felt terrible and was curled up in a ball in bed for 3 days. It never occurred to me that it was an MI.

This totally make sense as my atrial firbulation becomes worse when I didn't sleep for a longer period of time and I finally get a good 8 hours sleep my heart palpitations are less. As well as when I stopped dating my ex I can sleep better and have less palpitations :) Thank you again doctor we miss all these information which make a big difference in our lives xx
Doctor Sanjay you’re the best, keep on keeping us well informed on how to take better care of our bodies. We only get one life and one body and our health is so precious, sometimes we don’t realise just how precious until something goes wrong. From a young age, teens and twenties are not too soon to learn how to take care of our health, especially not starting to smoke and to eat healthy food like nuts, fruit and vegetables.

My dad had 5 heart attacks first one at age 45 .....had 3 defibs changed, he finally died of kidney failure at 72 from taking 23 pills a day all those years . Damage was done. RiP dad. Miss u so much.

Thanks... I don't smoke, don't eat junk, but l learned how really bad for your health stress is. I learned to manage that and learned more about listening to my heart when I went through testing and proding for my genetic arrythmia. I did my own research take magnesium and potassium daily and have learned that genetics aside I can manage my lifestyle. Thanks for another great video.
Be careful abt taking potassium and even magnesium in pill form. Eat a completely plant based diet with a lot of dark leafy greens. Makes a big difference... I mean to say that what's important with potassium is to balance it with sodium. Check it out, and if you dont have an imbalance, best to get what you get from your eating whole foods.

Right. However I believe the way he words it isn’t the greatest. Heart attacks are not common at all with the proper lifestyle. Genetics and age I feel like play a small part but I feel like 99% are preventable.
Little summary : - Two types of Heart Attacks, you either die instantly with no chance or get to the hospital ASAP to get treated. - Too much research is focusing on "treating" heart attacks vs prevention. Factors : - Age (the older the worst), older people tend to understand it could happen anytime soon and accept it. - Genetics - Luck : you can do everything right to avoid a heart attack through your life but you could have one anyway - Your Lifestyle such as : 1. Avoid Smoking 2. Avoid Drugs (especially cokaine) 3. Be careful about your overall diet (raw products/fresh veggies/local food = best) less processed food. Fat Waist > hips is bad. 4. Avoid carbonated drinks... What's wrong about water? 5. Avoid Alcohol (no excess) 6. Do exercise (moderate exercise reduce inflammation levels) 7. SLEEP, have enough, do not compromise it. Try to recognize if you have sleep apnea and prevent it's very bad effects on your body and treat it. 8. Stress : Health > Money, relax, 9. Anger/Depression 10. Check your cholesterol on a regular basis
@@fishtherapy100 In that person's defense there are some videos out by a couple of RU-vid Docs that encourage the use of Vit K2 to remove arterial plague! BUT, one well known Doc says NOT to supplement with it, as it can cause a piece of the plague to break-away and cause a heart attack, just as Dr. Gupta is describing here!!

For instance ,,, I cured my arthritis 5 years ago by taking liquid colloidal fulvic ( plant derived ) sourced minerals for a month twice a day. I take it once a day now.

Excellent video--Since I was diagnosis with Afib last year I have taken all these these things that you have mentioned and turned my life style around--to date I have lost 115 pounds and feel great. I have changed my diet completely to the plant based diet with no dairy, oil, eggs, or meat. I have stopped using salt and limited sweets to fruits. I walk and excerise every day. I sleep so much better these days and I feel great. Thank you for this great video!
05.22.2022 Thank you so much for posting this Doctor. I recently had an unnerving episode of signs of a heart attack. I took it seriously. Have an appt with my own doc. I'm an older (senior) person & although I've never smoked, drank alcohol or used illegal drugs; I am Class 3 on the Obese Range. I'm addicted to sweets, etc. I rarely exercise. I'm now trying to change my eating & exercise habits for the long haul. Thank you again for all the info. 👊
My wife suffered from Migraine about 25 years. Finally Neurologist recommended her to take Magnesium 400 mg and COQ10 300mg. No migraine for almost 10 years. I totally agree with Dr. Guptha that Magnesium does a lot for us. Thank you for wonderful video!

@@YorkCardiology sir you know what I have done numerous ecg till now,but I did controlled myself for 2 months and some days back I did ecg and it showed sinus tachycardia because I was anxious that time,now my mind played tricks on me and was constantly thinking I have problem went to again do ecg that time he printed 3 times because I was not satisfied one ecg sai normal and two showed sinus arrthymia but normal ecg,then was in that loop again and went again did 3 ecg and they were normal apart from fast heart rate and next day went again and 2 ecg normal and today I did 3 ecg they were normal still my brain thinks I have problem,I did 10 ecgs In 4 days.😭😭😭

Sorry I liked one of your other videos better but could not watch it. It would hang in the middle. Its name is "Life is that only the absence of death" This video is okay but have really liked your others more. I smoke.. what can I say . I don't use drugs, I eat right but was hoping I would get more out of this video. I am disabled and its very hard to exercise., so there is very little other than quitting smoking I can do...sorry but being honest here. I'm 24. I've taken part in acid twice (I was fine but sometimes I wonder if that did anything to my heart.) I've smoked weed for 3 years. I've taken Adderall My mom has had a heart attack. These are the biggest reasons for my fear. I think about it every day. And I KNOW that just having the anxiety alone could cause a heart attack yet I can't seem to stop being terrified. Even after quitting I have a horrible fear of a heart attack. And stroke, and seizure, the list goes on. My fear of dying is going to take my life.
If you’ve stopped doing drugs, then they shouldn’t cause heart disease. If you’re considering continuing taking drugs, you should consider that they can make you more resistant to anesthesia. So for example you need a surgery, the anesthesiologist may need to keep giving you more and more amounts of anesthesia to keep you to under. This can be dangerous. My opinion is you should worry about this more. But in any case, it’s only a concern if you continue, not if you quit.

Just a little worried about heart rate at idle its about 67, and i've seen it go to say 59, but not recently. During exercise gets up to about 110 max. Just don't want it to go so slow it stops.
Hello Dr Gupta I'm 17 and I have health anxiety and cardiophobia for the past 2 months I've been fearing of having a heart attack I done my first ECG today and now I fear of having a sudden cardiac arrest my family has no history of having any formal heart disease I don't eat sweets, fast foods nor sugary drink so I just want help with knowing my chances of me having one
I come from a family of natural athletes (so no anabolics etc.) and have exercised all my life as well. Unfortunately, my mother has an anxiety and panic disorder for which she has to take medication. I'm only 19 years old but have recently started to feel a lot of anxiety and palpitations as well. My echocardiogram, stress test and urine test were fine, so my cardiologist send me on my way. My question now is if these intense periods of anxiety and panic can cause damage to my arteries and organs? I live an extremely healthy lifestyle for a college student but I'm still worried that one of these panic attacks will be the end of me
I know it’s been 3 years bro, but with panic attacks, I have learnt that whilst it is extremely frightening, it is not dangerous and should not cause permanent damage to your body
I have the same problem, panic attacks drove me to constantly watch for my heart. The symptoms are really strong and they are difficult to be accepted as inoffensives, so be brave man, I'm on the same boat 💪🏻
@@munch_muzak hang in there. I suffered the most unbearable panic attacks daily for well over a year, then developed severe health anxiety as a result. I have no idea how but they resolved on their own and other than when my heart beats faster from walking etc my health anxiety is much better. I wouldn’t wish these fears on anyone, it’s a horrible affliction that controls and takes over one’s entire life.

In order to follow a heart healthy lifestyle you have to live like an old person. Everything in super moderation, you have to sleep regularly, you can't drink you can't smoke, you can't eat burgers and drink coca-cola, you have to be calm and content, you can't play a good game of basketball (it's not a moderate exercise), you can maybe find a few grandmas from your neighborhood to form a brisk walk gang, that's uninflammatory. And if you are unlucky you can still die in your sleep. I think that heart science needs more researches and discoveries that could lead to a more stable life. It's rational to expect a heart attack at the age of 59 if you smoked, drank and ate a lot of poison in your life, but to expect a relative possibility that you may die at 31 because you are slightly obese is unacceptable. C'mon guys it's not a space travel people expect/deserve better.
Agreed. I’ve heard that just about every heart attack is preventable (aside from genetics/born disorders) and people don’t seem to like to mention that you can pretty much keep your arteries clean if you choose to do so.
I had heart attack age 55 woman. I exercised, I tried to eat right. I had high ldl. My parents had heart disease in 70s years old. I had no other risk factors. I had good blood sugar and pressures. I did have overload of stress for 10 years. I think sugar exposure is terrible. I could go back, I would eat zero sugar. I would not snack. I think too much food and too much eating. Imo heart disease is insulin resistance.
@Hew Jarsol I believe refined sugar is not food. In nature carbohydrates are packaged with fiber to slow down absorption. It might not matter but I stopped eating bread, no candy, cakes, or refined flour for me.

I gift and I will send it no chg as a gift out of my gratitude for you doing this video. Thank you. Just this year my best friend died of sudden heart attack. He bicycled every day, he ate an omnivores diet, he was a wonderfully positive person, and he never suspected it. I just wish I had gifted him my research and I appreciate you cover reducing risk for the people at risk for sudden heart attack and you reduce anxiety for people with ischemic symptoms. I reduce total inflammatory markers via dietary modifications and you know how important that can be ❤️
Really good video-and I just wanted to mention something I saw recently about what to do if you are alone and have a Heart Attack. To buy time : Evidently take very deep breath and cough really deeply [ as if clearing the chest] the cough compresses on the heart and acts like a DIY massage, keep doing this until help arrives. This assumes you can dial 999 and gasp a location !! Also people who are really stresses can take a 6 week course on the NHS to learn Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and learn how to manage stress, worry, depression really effectively. I bet there is a U-Tube video about this too. Last comment-just to say most important to cut out refined sugar - but organic honey is a good thing!!

I'd already followed your page sir thank you yes you are right I do have mild obstructive pulmonary disease and maybe the ectopic heart beats came because of it but still I can't help but to worry feeling every minute hour day week I might be able to get a heart attack and died I live in fear almost a year now sir I am financially unstable to undergo heart test I am relying on your advice and to the people who was similar in my case thank you sir

Do you get a lot of patients that don't believe your diagnosis? Like people with Heart phobias? I've been told my heart is fine that I just suffer from PVCs mostly do to my high anxiety. And that's how I found you on RU-vid was looking up videos on the subject. Besides bad luck as you say, if all my testing comes back and their not worried, I should just trust Them and do the best I can to better my lifestyle, in which I have. But having a heart phobia do to my grandfather dying at 62 of cardiomyopathy and my mother still alive 67 has atrial fabulation, cardiomyopathy, and copd. On my fathers side I don't recall heart attacks, everyone dies of cancer. On both sides everyone are or were heavy smokers. Yet my grandmother smoked like 3 packs a day most of her life and she lived to be 78 she started smoking at 13 years old.. I guess it's just luck of the draw. Any advise? Trust my physicians? Or get a second opinion? Again thanks for caring more about the people and less about lining your pockets with money ( seems like you're a Genuinely very nice person ) and care about people's well being.
InkedinRI you nailed it on the head. Grand mother on my father's side smoked and lived to be 90. My grand mother on my moms side smoked worked my ass off and died at 48 years old. Father side Irish moms side Italian/French.
+Samurai Storm I want to say one thing which I believe everybody is born with different organs. some people have strong organs or some have weak. we all know how our body reacts. A human should understand nature of his or her body and then take a diet and do activities according to this. If some people die at young age due to smoking but some don't die even at 90 due to smoking that doesn't mean that smoking doesn't affect your health. in short I just want to say stay away from smoking, bad nutrition.
InkedinRI how relatable are you! I have an extreme heart phobia. My mom had died of hypertrophy cardiomyopathy at 27. She had sudden death. My aunt, her sister died at 41 suddenly as well. I was 2 years old when my mom died but I habe this extreme phobia and I am a nurse. It has become a blessing and a curse. I almost wish I was ignorant to it all. I have major severe panic attacks. I am currently 36 and been suffering from them since I was 16. During a panic attack I am always frightened I am going to give myself a lethal arrhythmia or a heart attack. I see a cardilogist twice a year and get schos, stress test, heart holters. I do get pvcs but have been considered benign. I was in urgent care this week getting troponin drawn etc. Everything was fine but it reassures me and calms me for awhile but I still fear the panic attacks coming back and possible heart problems. I love these episodes because I have serious family genetics regarding heart disease. My father and grandfather both passed from heart disease. My Grandfather smoked several cigars per day and my father was a heavy smoker and moderate drinker. Ive always had a low grade high LDL cholesterol and inflamation. So I take statins and reasonably eat well and do not smoke. Although I seldom exercise and generally dont sleep well.
When I was 50, I was diagnosed with Angina and as time went on, it got quite bad to the extent I used my spray before I went out. 15 years later, I found a couple of documentaries on a whole food plant based way of eating. Within 2-3 weeks of eating this way, no angina, haven’t used my spray in 3 years and can walk uphills no problem. Diet is the main key!
I wish to God that I had watched and taken seriously this kind of advice before I had my heart attack, which was the most AWFUL thing to happen to me in my whole life! Please, Please if you are at risk, do WHATEVER you can to avoid a heart attack, it is absolutely F...ing Sh.t! A heart attack will change your life forever.

Does having SVT increase chances of heart attack? I have a really bad case of it that lands me in the ER multiple times a month. I Had a cardiac ablation after three years of trying different medications. I felt great for about three weeks after my ablation but now my symptoms are creeping back and with chest pains on a daily basis. My dr is having a 30 day holter monitor sent to me but I still worry. My anxiety only makes it all worse
Thats why i have anxiety of heart attack.. because I have M.E and cant excersise at all without getting sicker and more inflammation, i need to use wheelchair to limit overusing energy. Because of this its hard to eat right because I have to have very little kcal which is making it hard to live a ok life without limiting too much Foods.. i eat lowfodmap so many healthy things i Cant eat. My M.E makes sleep a problem same with the POTs part(im on betablockers). My cm around my stomach is like 20 cm too much From what is recommended. But doctors etc only looks wierd at me when I say im scared of heart attack bc "oh ur young(35) , they call me slim and nobody thinks im overweight but I am!.. And i stress about the fact that I cant exercise anything and everyone is saying thats the most important thing for good health. 😭 I do not smoke or drink though or drink sodas 😅 maybe that will save me.
I wish I got enlightened about alcohol and heart disease 2yrs ago, since I was 11yrs old, I never got sick enough to visit a hospital until I was 38yrs. I used to take only wine, moderately until my friends introduced me to Jameson mixed with some coke, for 2 years, I took a lot of this mix, I remember buying 8ltrs of Jameson on a black Friday in Nov 2019. On March 31st, 2020, after taking a lot of this stuff, I started having left side headache, jaw pain, neck pain, left arm numbness and could feel something running with high pressure in my body, just like you would hear water running with a lot of pressure in taps. I stayed awake fearing the worst, ready to call an ambulance just in case and when I got to the hospital, my blood pressure was 180/110. This was something that I never witnessed in my health check-ups, I freaked out! I got a head scan, ECG, ECHO, MRI but nothing was wrong. Today, unfortunately, I can't do without high blood pressure meds for more than 30hrs 😞, I start getting a heavy chest, headache, backache, neckache, jaw ache, and little breath.....
I had a massive heart attack due to Hyperthyroidism...why don't Drs discuss this.....I never knew I had a hyperthyroidism...my levels was 49 when I had my heart attack...pls do a video on it
