Nice to see a kettle in the room as in my experience not many hotels in Spain supply them which is why I usually take a travel kettle. It looks like a great location.

We stayed just down the street but had a meal there and watched some footie. People were very friendly and helpful

Nice hotel Stu. I hope you enjoyed Santander as much as I do. Was there yesterday, it's 29 km from where we live in Ajo, Cantabria. We watched the ferry leave the port and a yatch regatta. It was great.

Hi Stu, enjouy your stay. My family and I stayed only 1 night on 4/26/24 since we were traveling thru northern Spain. Our 3 rooms were different prices but in the same range, between 100 - 110 euros. My room had a king bed, ocean front, bathroom had a bathtub, very clean. My bill: Descuentos: Nivel Silver: 113.00 x -5.00 % = -5.65 EUR Precio Total: 107.35 EUR 10% IVA incluido I plan on returning and staying longer. God bless.

Definitely a bargain, we were in Santander in July last year as part of our Northern Spain trip. Rented an apartment in Santander but stayed in Hotel Silken Indautxu in Bilbao, a fantastic hotel & also Silken Reino de Aragón in Zaragoza. Wonderful part of the country. I wish more hotels offered tea/coffee making facilities as standard, but I do bring my own kettle if not 😂😂. Enjoy your trip.

Not a bad price Stew .nice to get the upgrade if you walk to the left of the sea for a long time, you get to some really nice properties and a huge lovely public park, with a big old mansion in it .last day here in Peschiera del Garda .very impressive architecture a old fortress surrounded by turquoise water. Back to Bewdley tomorrow hasta pronto amigo

I've stayed in the Hotel Chiqui at the far end of the beach, very nice with sea view from all rooms. Maybe cheaper.

The" hotel carlos" almost next to your hotel is great ,I always stay there when I use the ferry,modest price and cheerful

Hi Stuart, just watched your latest vlog and the hotel review👍this could be useful as I'm thinking of driving to Spain next year around the June time and the boat will come into Santander Port, I'm not sure how far that Hotel is from the port maybe you could give me an idea? but thanks for the review. Very nice. Only about an hour from Bilbao (where we visited last year). Great deal (low cost) on the hotel room.

So I have to ask. Why is it so common in Spain and Italy to get two twin beds in hotels rather than a queen or king bed? It impact to comfort of having bedroom gymnastics!

Because 2 single beds are usually cheaper than one king/queen size bed, especially when bought in bulk. Also, you can split 2 single beds easily over 2 rooms. A king/queen size bed would require a chainsaw which most non-BDSM hotels don't have.

Try the anchovies and the famous groped for the blinds (sobaos pasiegos)! The migratory route of British and Irish ornithologists made a stop in Santander. They took the binoculars out just on the ferry because the journy worth it for a birder. Some surfers also used to came to Santander. I don't know if still stands.
