Hey all. I'm here in USA. After months of pain and sensitivity, per my local dentist, I just had two split teeth extracted. Told him my intentions to have implants performed in Bangkok. This video and additional research convinced me to contact Edelweiss Dental House. Thank you, Chris! Over the past month, the folks at Edelweiss Dental House have been awesome answering my detailed questions from here in USA. Just booked my flights for Phase 1 of the implants. Then, a few months later, I have a great excuse to return to lovely Thailand for a second time for Phase 2. The cost of two implants, transportation, accommodations, food and even money for entertainment while in Thailand and I'll STILL be saving about $4,000 USD by having the work done in The Land of Smiles. Just hope my smile will be worthy. I'll report back about my experience. Great channel!
Had a check up in the UK in February this year, was told I needed 1 actual filling and 9 other teeth that needed filling between the gum and teeth at the back, quoted £1,200. Researched dentists in Bangkok and booked an appointment for early June with a practice in Sukhumvit Soi 5. I sent the x-ray and photos prior to the appointment. On the day they did a quick inspection and confirmed only 1 filling and 5 other teeth needed filling. They were so professional and the work was carried out in 2 visits for 8,600 THB approximately £220. I was so impressed with the ladies at reception, how they deal with patients and the dentist herself was amazing.
if go to thailand dentish, and new eyeglas buy, and go tailor make you all new suit, clothes, underwear silk etc, save lot money can go ewery year to thailand 1 month tourist visa live 1 month thailand FREE saved money.
@@rh7163 what have stupid, greedy not be, but little profit can take, but USA ALL have sick and greedy and this sick come to around world not good, not normal,
I’m back in Thailand for more dental work. Edelweiss is awesome. I was in chair yesterday for 4 hours. Cleaning, whitening and implant work. Prices compared to USA are 15 cents on dollar and it’s the best clinic I’ve ever been. I had 7 visits in February and got 4 scheduled this time over 2 weeks. I’m staying at Adelphi Grande hotel in Bangkok which is on sukhumvit and is great for tourism. I’m 10 miles from clinic and after using Bolt, I found a driver that charges me $10 per hour for driving and tourist visits and great dining experiences. Chris’ video plays in lobby of clinic and they are very grateful for his support.
Seriously thinking about visiting them. I'm 70 in Northern Ca. Weighing total cost of air travel and lodging. My teeth are super bad, total neglect for 15 years. Missing teeth and on and on, and probably extensive bone loss. I know it's going to cost. Shouls I trust this dentist? Will I save money?
One of the best things you can do while having a trip in Thailand is to get the dentists there fix up your oral issues. Not only that their standards are so high, but they're also unbelievably cheap. And it's not limited to dental, their hospital and medical treatments are in high standards and low prices as well.
@@kevinp8108Personally, I think it's cheap price from Thai people as well. I think it depends on the point of view. Because I went to scrape the limestone clinic around my house. at high standard but not expensive The more government hospitals, the cheaper it is, even if you have to wait in line, but not as long as in other countries. more procedural and have to make an appointment with the doctor again except for braces that the tools are imported from some foreign countries May be a bit more expensive But it makes sense.
@@ElliotScottDating massive improvement. More than happy with the outcome. Be prepared to always wear the retainer after the treatment to sleep every night or your teeth will slowly start to go back to the original state.
With your Invisalign treatment, how often did you need to go back to Edelweiss for checkup/adjustment? Did they give you the entire set of aligner trays or did you have to go back every few months to get new aligners? I'm just curious because I don't live in Thailand, but I could go there every few months if I needed to. I did the Smile Direct treatment in the US a few years ago, but it was not good. It was cheaper than Invisalign, but I got what I paid for, which wasn't much, and now I am back to my crooked overcrowded teeth. Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone!
I visited Edelweiss on a visit to Bangkok last year based on your video.and had 2 Implants + cleaning. Good care, wonderful staff. I give them 5 stars.
I'm ex military. I came to Thailand from Africa for medical and dental procedures. After watching this video, I decided to come here to Edelweiss for dental work. I'm sitting in the lobby right now, and this video is playing on the big screen on a continuous loop. Everyone is the lobby is watching it. 😊😊
My Wife and I both had extensive Bridge work done 21yrs ago at the Pattaya hospital, still no probs. My UK dentist was amazed at the quality and stated he wouldn't have attempted such a large piece work.
I had a fantastic experience at the Bangkok International Dental Clinic back in 2007. I had teeth pulled (required from an old accident when I was a child), new gum tissue sewn into my mouth from a deceased donor, and a new bridge. Total cost was WAY less than in the USA. And I still have the bridge 16 years later.
my visit was in 2015 no problem with the large amount of work I had done it was also cheaper than in NZ even with the flights and hotel included Would recommend Chiang Mai as a better place to hang out as its cheaper and easier to get round plus usually 3 or 4 days between appointments so you need something to do dont be afraid al lot of the dentists are US trained
Exactly a year ago I had a dental emergency and had to have two teeth pulled here in NYC. The dentist missed with novacane shot but she pulled them anyway at full excruciating pain. Then after that insult, they charged me $1800.!! That was it for me and the despicable NY dentists and prices. One month later, in August of last year, I was in Thailand and getting a full restoration that included 3-root canals & crowns, 7-lower & 8-upper restorations, and 5 (YES FIVE) implants. Oh yeah, I had to have two more teeth pulled and guess what that cost me? …$26. EACH! Now I had to return last February to get the implants installed, but I couldn’t be happier. What could have easily been $60K to $70k in the U.S., cost me a little more than $9K total. The dentist in Thailand was Western trained spoke English and very professional, I was surrounded by 3-assistants at all times, and the technology was state-of-the-art. Coincidentally, the NYC dental office recently reached out to me to try and get me to return. I wrote them of my Thailand experience compared to NY - especially their outrageous NY prices - and added that I NEVER wanted to hear from them again. Now I can’t wait to get out of this insult of a country all together. If you disagree, you’re the frog in the boiling water.
I just had five different appointments with Edelweiss Dental House and it was an amazing and completely professional experience. I highly recommend them.
It's amazing, I have been failing to find an NHS Dentist here in Britain so thinking maybe when I come to Thailand in September it might be a good idea to see a Dentist over there....I think you have just convinced me and given a place to go that I know will look after me and I an trust, thanks again Chris
The cheap price is not because of the low quality. but it's about foreign currency exchange rate don't forget that Medicine in Thailand is ranked among the top in the world.
Hi Chris! I have LAB COAT SYNDROME where you get so anxious about taking your blood pressure that it causes it to rise. Whenever I take my blood at home, it's normal. To prevent you from getting anxious, I recommend that you close your eyes and take very deep breaths through your mouth, and exhale through your nose. You will see that by doing this your blood pressure would be normal. Hope this helps!
I got into a motorbike accident and my left ankle swelled up. The next morning, I requested a Tuk Tuk ride to Phuket international Hospital, but before the trip I took two credit cards in case the bill went through the roof. The Dr Consult/X-Rays/Meds was a total price of the equivalent of $12.00 USD. In California, it would cost about $800.00 USD.
Thanks, Chris, for this video. I'll be retiring for good on the 18 Aug after 54 years living in the UK and can't wait to be back in the big mango. It's people like you who I admire and educating us the viewers with your video clips and information. I like the clip where you are trying to do a podcast while Adam is getting work on his K nines😊😜. Thank you again, and I wish you all the best and hope to see you again soon.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Super useful video. Medical services are a vital consideration for older folks considering a move to Thailand. The dental clinic seems to be professional and reliable.
We have great dentists in Chiang Mai and even lower prices than the great ones you mentioned, although your place is quite a bit fancier. But a good English speaking dentist in CM is about 700 baht for cleaning and a filling about 500 baht. As an American, I just find it amazing. My health insurance never covered the dentist and the price for a filling is about 20 times or more. Just crazy. Thanks for the video, Chris. I feel like I know you so much better now that I've seen the inside of your mouth, 555.
@RetiredGlobalLife - medical care in the US has always been overpriced because there isn't a price cap like in other countries for each medical procedure! The hospitals in the US can charge whatever they want, and it's usually high because the hospitals are counting on the insurance companies to pay for the ridiculously high prices! Then the insurance companies passes on the high costs to the insured through costly month premiums!
Thanks very much for this dental update, it was very helpful. My Korean wife and I are coming back to Thailand to settle and retire in March 2024. This information is very important and helpful to our our decision-making. Keep up the great work 👍
Wow…I am blown away by the prices. I need to visit Thailand and have dental work done at this clinic. The place is so awesome. Great video and job well done.
I will be going to the Dentist in Thailand when we are there cause we pay a fortune here in Canada especially as seniors who are retired. Our government does not cover us so we are looking forward to it.
Made my appointment already after seeing your 2nd preview moments ago. I am also trying to get my Wife to go. First class establishment and will be my annual Dentist as I come every summer. Thanks again Chris P!
Smaller jobs like cleaning,, fillings, x-Ray etc. is certainly cheaper in Thailand. However …..I got 6 implants (US Biohorizon) done in Costa Rica and I paid 15% less than what it would have cost me in Thailand; according to the fee list on their website. My dentist in CR did even one extraction free of charge for me and in-clinic whitening was 20% cheaper in Costa Rica as well. What I am trying to say here is - do your homework before you decide which country to go for dental work…..last but not least…..flights to CR are dirt cheap.
You must have read my mind. I was going to ask about Dental Tourism in Thailand. I will definitely be reaching out to these folks to set it up. Thanks 👍
Thailand is good for dental if your have the money, but if you're like me and on a budget, go to the Philippines. You'll pay a fraction of those prices. Yesterday i had TWO fillings done for $30 USD, Root canals and porcelain crowns are UNDER $100 USD each.
@@joycem7688 My dentist is in Cagayan de Oro city, Mindanao, but you can get the same prices at most dentists across the country. The main thing is not to go to a dentist that caters to lots of foreigners. rather than locals - unless you're happy to pay more.
@@metalguru5226oh wow. Thanks for mentioning that. We have a trip to the Philippines and Thailand and Malaysia. Was deciding between Thailand and Malaysia for some fillings. Not sure why I discounted the Philippines. Actually I have used that dentist in the mall in cdo but it was just cleaning. I think they are ok for filling too. I will be in Iligan for a week, might take a day and drive to cdo for the job.
@@bigbrother4ever Glad to help. Mall dentists are fine, but they're not the cheapest. Dentists on the city streets who work with local customers are the cheapest. You can find these in Illigan too. for years have been going to a good one called Dental Art Care in CDO, but there are dozens of others here.
Just had two fillings repaired in Brisbane Australia. Nearly $1k AUD. For repairs, not a filling. And when I told the dentist I had thought about visiting Thailand, primarily to visit my uncles war grave, but to get dental work done whilst there, well the negative comments about thai dentists was out there. After seeing the prices you paid I am now convinced Ned Kelly is alive and well and went to dental school in Brisbane.
I've been using BIDC ( Bangkok international dental centre) for years now. They're based in Ratchada. 7 floors and specialist dentists for different treatments. Each one specializing on something in particular.. you might see 4 different ďentists in one visit. Prices are great.
My mother and stepfather have been using BIDC for years and really like them. I haven't used them yet, but when I looked them up I saw that they have several other locations, including EmQuartier, Siam Paragon, Phuket and Chiang Mai
Thank you for the info!!thinking to go see Them(was in bad car accident broke 4 teeths and i whill need implant for Shure!!!!big$$$$investisement in m'y country!!! Dont know yet the average Price for that in Bangkok for each teet
@sebastiendrapeau8899 You have 3 different implant choices at BIDC. 3 different qualities and costs depending on your financial situation. They are very fair and won't give you a hard sell. They advised me.... Dont got for cheap and don't choose expensive unless you want that. The middle priced option was perfect. You'll be fine, don't worry you're on very good hands .
We, from Belgium also have good experiences with dentists in Thailand. It is better to have your high blood pressure checked by a heart specialist. Maybe it's a small problem, but just taking medication is not a good idea. Like your channel😉
Great to see an informative video that has a really good outcome for the business being filmed. I can imagine that they may have been sceptical of allowing an outsider filming their business at first, but then seeing how much extra business your videos are creating for them is the priceless. They're getting free targeted advertising. I also love how transparent they are. They hide nothing. I have certainly wondered about costing a quality tooth alignment in Thailand against what I would pay in the Uk. If my maths are correct, I'd save about £1200-£1500 on treatment by having it done there. To me, that equates to a return flight ticket + £500-£800 towards my accommodation. The cost saving would pay for 3/4 of my flight and accommodation for a month.
Chris You are the juice. I just had my teeth cleaned, exam, and X-ray back home for us Los Angeles. The price $500. I do think the dental hygienists in our home nation do great work! I had my teeth cleaned in Taiwan, China and S. Korea at different times in the past and just not really pleased.
Another great video- I have had extensive dental work done in both Bangkok and Penang over the last 15 years. I recently had to have one implant done in Orlando Florida- Dentist did a nice job, as did the Asian dentists. Biggest difference was price and speed. Asian dentists about 20-25% of cost and substantially faster- lab work done in house. My one implant done in Orlando Florida cost $USD 6000.00!! and took almost 4 months start to finish. Had two veneers replaced (originally done in Bangkok 15 years ago-for a few hundred dollars and completed in 2 days. Orlando cost $USD 15000.00 EACH and took several weeks to complete-lab work is subbed out.
Thank you for such comprehensive coverage. I'm [now] seriously considering a trip to Thailand from Charleston, SC to take dental availabilities. You are very much appreciated!
We are in Bangkok and just realized that when we get home there is no time to make an appointment with our dentist so thought we'd go while here. Then we remembered this video. My husband went today and came out very happy. Interesting though that they charged us more when we explained that it was on your recommendation that we were there ... 🤣
Bro, this video is a major score for me. Super awesome fantastic. I can't that you enough. I will go to Edelweiss and tell them I learn of them from your channel. Found this video on accident. Now I will subscribe. Again, thanks🎉
In addition to dental annual check up, visitors should consider an all inclusive medical examination at most private hoapitals. Their prices vary during the year and the procedues vary. Prevention is the best cure.
Great video Chris, I’ll be certain to visit on my next trip for a check up and clean. Principally as like you I am likely to need an implant soon and the cost is significantly lower than the U.K. and the equipment for x rays is next level.
Thank you for a very informative video sir, much appriciated. Will be contemplating a visit in the future, both for me an my son. Wishing you, and yours all the best! Greetings from Sweden!
Every day I watch these videos of Thailand and I am just counting down the months till I can sell all my stuff here in the states and go on a 6 month long vacation in S.E.A. When I go to thailand? I plan to get the cheapest hole in the wall to sleep at for a month till I look around and see what's out there. The Medical care you can get in thailand as far as massages, chiropractic, and stuff that's geared to keep you healthy & fit as a fiddle is truly amazing for the price it costs. I think this gave me the motivation to get my affairs in order and sell off my stuff and Vacation before life gets to hard. And then I will never be able to go or it would make it much harder. The weird thing is? I would actually be able to save money just staying there on Vacation. In fact, I spend more on my storage space then I would spend just staying there for a month. And I don't even need all the stuff I got anymore. I swear, my doc's at the VA, have just been trying to lengthen out my stay here with my appointments to take care of stuff I really need to have done over the year on purpose! 😂 (Na, it just takes forever) Let's hope 2024 is the year I am out of here. I am really getting tired that all my work I do here really is just for other people. Its time I live for myself. I worked damn hard and got injured harder. Time to relax. Life is way to short to not go out an see the sights of life before the lights go out.
Great show Chris! Prices are awesome. I usually go to the dentist in Korat. I'll definitely check it out next time in Bangkok. As alway's stay cool, kind and generous!
Chris you must have been reading my mind when you made this video. I had my teeth CT scanned in the states a couple of weeks ago. I need some dental work but couldn't get in to have it done before my trip. I'm sitting in the airport in Abu Dabi right now waiting to connect to The Maldives for 10 days then on to Thailand. I knew I would have to have some dental work when I get to Thailand. Perfect timing on the video!
Those prices are amazing vs what it costs here in the US. I am about to get a full upper and lower denture and trying to get the cost down. Almost worth flying there for getting the work done.
I had dental work done in Pattaya, but that was 15 years ago. Great dentist there, also. This clinic is close to Chatuchak, I see. So it's easy to get there from BTS. I'll check it out when I'm there at the end of July.
I love how they played along with the previous video on the TV 12:28 My dentist in NZ that is the same - he's not a salesman looking for a margin like most seem to be. It took me 35 years to find one like that and he's moved practice twice and I've followed him.
Co-incidentally, I just came back from my dental visit. A replacement of white composite filling costs me almost £300 here in the UK. Oh dear! Wish I were in Thailand. 😉😉
lot peoples and work insurance pay all workers and private peoples go to thailand many different doctor hospital and dentish because have same quality than USA but lot lot cheapen all operations. india have too popular country but not good quality, thailand have lto better, cambodia all doctors cost same than america, wery expensive.
I have been going to Dental Home Clinic Karon for 15 years now from Australia. Top quality work, at much lower cost than Australia. During Covid I visited an Australian dentist. I went back to my Karon dentist in May 2024. They fixed some of the Australian work, and found 3 abceses, leaking through the gums. This required 2 molar root canals and removal of a tooth that was no longer attached to the jaw. I have a temporary tooth and return in September to finalise the work when the infections are gone and the gums healed. The tooth removal and tempory tooth cost $40 AUD the root canals were $300 each. I was quoted $1800 to $2400 for one molar root canal in Australia. I still have to pay more but was told the hard work was done. Each root canal took 2 hours. I will be getting a bridge as there is not enough bone for a screw in tooth. I already have a bridge fitted by them 5 years ago in another part of my mouth which has given me no issues
Yes Chris, great recommend, Thailand is my fav. land to do dental cleaning and check up, but, they never did take my blood pressure 😂thats to much caring i don`t need. Great video Lol ! 👍😁
I went to SMILE Clinic on Sukhamvit last time was in thailand. I will probably check this place out next time for sure. thanks for the video again. I saved their location in my google maps.
Cool video. I just sent him a message to set an appointment in February 2024. Looks like I'm about 7 Mi away at the hotel I'll be at so not too bad. I've been to dentists in the United States as well as Mexico. Looking forward to Thailand.
