I totally agree! Now I'm obviously not perfect.. I definitely make impulsive Amazon purchases & overspend sometimes but for the most part, my budget is just very predictable 😂

Happy Sunday! To answer your home reno filming question, I enjoy the updates throughout vlogs but find most important a before/after once you’re done. It could be in a vlog alongside the final update, some before clips to remind us what it had been (it’s so satisfying to see the changes!!). If a standalone video will help more with views/channel growth, do what you’ve gotta do 🤑 because I’d absolutely watch that too

Thank you for the feedback! This is honestly my preferred way to do it. I give all the home reno channels out their immense kudos because its so hard to remember to set a camera up everytime you're doing something around the house and then organize all the footage for a video! Sharing updates in vlogs is easiest & putting together a reel!!

As someone whose only ever had cats, its wild to me just how much goes into dogs. Not just the size and having to walk them but all of the training. Yes you can teach cats some stuff but you dont have to. Dogs it seems almost mandatory so they dont tear up your home and run away after squirrels and things. So glad that despite the challenges you're putting the work in for Delilah and giving her a new chance at life (and preventing her from potentially being euthanized in the shelter).

It is so so important for all women to discuss birth control with a doctor especially with so much misinformation all around. I'm a dermatologist and I've seen so many people with really bad acne flares or dryness after experimenting with isotretinoin. I know healthcare in the US and Canada is more expensive than here in India but it makes a lot of difference! It's great that you're so respectful of your family and their comfort levels being in front of the camera. I have a friend who started posting fitness content on RU-vid and she had to stop because of the number of people constantly commenting on her diet and lifestyle. It does get really taxing after a point to be bombarded with advice. I love reno content as shortform or longform but I feel it will perform better as shortform content. Have a great week!

35:34 It's so easy to feel alone in having a parent who's just "not there" as an adult. There's the guilt of thinking "I'm so lucky I have two parents who love me but this also hurts" a lot of people don't get it 😭

I'm totally up for what's easier for you but LOVE vlogs of reno / updates/budget redos - even if you rolled a bunch of reels into a longer form "diary of the reno" or something :) Also, thank you for sharing the parent stuff - i dont think you need to share anything more than "actually, i have both sides of this" and thats enough for most people to go "oh, i got you" and thats great you feel able to share some parts in DMs :)

I would like separate reno vlogs. I think it's helpful for inspiration to be able to go back and find those videos. I am working on projects on my house too so if you do something I really love it's nice to be able to go back to that video and see it again. It'd be harder to find if you have little bits in regular daily vlogs.

I probably should have clarified this some more- it's not my budget sharing that I feel is a privacy/safety thing, I feel as though I have a pretty average budget. it's all those other trending personal finance videos talking about "how much I have saved & invested" and sharing in depth money & savings numbers. That is the content I've really taken a step back on because no one needs to be putting their exact investment portfolios & savings balances online IMO. That's why I felt the need to take a step back from creating all this personal finance content because it felt like everything (besides my monthly budgets) that I was filming was a abit of a safety concern. Hope that makes sense! But I do see others do percentages for their monthly budgets which is great, I just have no issue sharing my monthly budget (it's mainly all the other videos).

Just wanted to point out that you said you did not want to share what year your elopement is going to be but then that you would share the elopement budget “next year when the time comes.” In case that was an accident and you want to edit it out.

I did share when we got engaged that we would elope within 2 years, we're just not sharing exactly when it's happening date wise next year but I've said before that it would be before the end of 2025! But I appreciate the comment 🥰
