For anyone looking for free alternatives to the software here, I've been using SoundBridge as my DAW and SSD5.5 Free as my drum VST. MT Power Drum Kit 2 is another free VST option with a few less features.
Very good video.I have alesis nitro mesh and have ezdrummer 2 but sometimes i like sound from alesis modul sometimes ezdrummer sound 😊 what you will prefer alesis nitro or ezdrummer to play on practice time?
When I had my nitro I would often just use the module, since all you have to do it turn it on and play. But EZ Drummer definitely sounds more realistic. If you want to get creative though, it's fun to play with sounds in the module. It has a lot of sounds.
@@demonicsweaters Thank you to answer me.May be prefer to play from module because i have made my kits .Ezdrummer hi hat not reacting very good, I don't know why.
Hey man, love the video I’m just curious. What do you actually usually use that tiny little multi pad for usually? I imagine you don’t tend to play your recordings on that when you have a full e kit? Or is it your kids? Lol
I love multipads actually. I gave this particular one away, but I gigged with it here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ynvM67w88aQ.html. Now I use an Avatar PD705 here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZNPkV1aowjA.html
Very helpful, thanks! 👍 Does the Hihat (closed, open...) and the cymbal choking work when using MIDI (with EZDrummer or Addictive Drums) on the Alesis Nitro Mesh Kit, too? Thanks in advance and keep it up! 🥁
Hey buddy great channel, I can't seem to find the answer to a question, I've got an Alesis Surge kit and really want to use something like Ezdrummer or something (potentially standalone or with a DAW). I'm not really looking to record drums, just want to practice on my kit with better sounds (I find the hi hat sounds on the Surge quite grating) but I can't work out how to play along with music from my phone/RU-vid etc alongside using Ezdrummer. Is there a way to do this on this kit? Thanks and hope that makes sense? Simon
hi, for the pted06, is there a way to directly record beats using audacity or other recording programs without using DAW? and is there a way to mute the built-in speakers while doing so but the sound would still output on the record? thankyou in advance, this is the crucial info i need before buying
Do they make a program for windows just to add more sound to your module? Like change the sound of a pad on the computer and when you play on your set you can hear the change through your headset while playing. I have no interest in recording I just want more choices than just what is on the module. I like to get like your symbols sounded like pasty paint or white Zildjian cymbals
I hope this question makes sense, but can you use a plug in to play live? Like if my buddy came over and I wanted to use a plug-in and play my drumset so that my drums come through the speakers while my friend is playing some soft guitar through an amp, would that work? I have the Alesis nitro mesh and did sort of want to play more modern sounds but in a live jam sesh
I have standard now, but I used 'Intro' for years and it was still really good. If you're looking for something to host EZdrummer though, I'd suggest Reaper since cymbal chokes work without issue.
Very nice video!! Do you know if is possible to customize a kit in EZDrummer 2 in such a way that you could map your custom kit in the Alesis into EZDrummer? I am using a Tom as a cymbal (similar as you did in one of your videos) and I would like to have it in the same way in EZDrummer. Thanks!
@@SefaDrums Hi! Yes! I did it changing the MIDI notes on particular pads in my Alesis, in such a way that the mapping to EZDrummer worked perfectly! So I had my own samples in EZDrummer too.
I would like to connect my Alesis Nitro drumkit to my laptop and then have the audio output to an external amplifier. I'd also like to use EZ Drummer for the drum sounds and use my Alesis Nitro kit as a set of triggers. I believe what I might need is called an Audio Interface, but I'm really not sure. I am not looking to record, just to play live through a laptop to an amplifier while using the laptop's custom drum sounds. I'd like to know what components/cables I need to purchase to do what I've described here. Thank you so much for any guidance you can give.
If you record a drum cover in this way, do you add a track for the music and then record drum MIDI on top of it while listening to everything through the PC? I tried that, but my timing seems to suffer despite ~6ms latency. The MIDI also doesn't line up exactly with the music and needs micro adjustments, but even then I can't get the timing perfect. I've resorted to listening to the drum module while recording the MIDI, and lining it up with the track later.
Yeah this is the way you should be doing it. If it’s still off time then you either have greater latency than you think or your playing is out of time. Also make sure you not auto-quantizing or something
I am unable to load my ezdrummer vst into ableton. Tried pointing ableton to all possible vst locations on my laptop, still nothing shows up in ableton
can you help me out,? so what im tryna do is have it play live out of a speaker and use ezdrummer and change my kits as i play live , im not trying to record just hear it live . is there a way to change kits during a live set?
Though I've never personally done, but you should be able to achieve this with program changes www.toontrack.com/forums/topic/ezdrummer-2-midi-program-change-messages/
So useful! Thanks a bunch for this 😁, I do have a question and I'm hoping you can help me out with this one. So I will be playing live with a band soon, and I do have a nice PA system for my Alesis Nitro. Do you have any suggestion on how I can set it up to sound good? Is EZ Drummer 2 a good tool for that? And can I use Valhalla Reverb to make it sound better? And do I need a DAW or a VST alone like EZ drummer enough? Sorry for the questions, I'm totally new to this whole e-drumming world!
Playing live your life will be much easier just by using the drum module. You can use EZ Drummer for sure, but it will take more configuration and you'll need a fast computer with low latency. Reverb doesn't make things sound better, it just makes them have reverb, haha.
I actually got what I have to do inside of ableton to do what ever I want to. BUT for some reason ableton isn't receiving any midi. I use a roland KT-10 pedal and an roland pd-8 pad. These connect to the roland tm-2 trigger module via ¼". The module connects via a midi cable my audio interface and eventually that connects to my computer via usb 2.0. The connections are all correct, right? In the references in ableton I selected my audio interface as in and out and at midi ports I selected everything so I really couldn't miss amything there. Does amybody has any idea what I'm missing? Like I said ableton is not even receiving midi.
im trying to use Mario duplantiers mixwave kit and im plugging my nitro mesh in via usb but when i play my kit isn't being picked up by the software? When I plug it into my pc i here the notification so my pc knows the usb is in but then when i try to assign sounds in the software nothing happens. I also have melodics installed and when I get on meldoics it shows my kit but then when i hit the pads to try and get it to detect the pads nothing happens. am i missing something? help would be much appreciated
I don't see why it wouldn't. Does 2box use weird midi data for some reason? I've never played with a 2box module, so I'm not sure. But if you have a 2box drummit 3 or 5 I'm not sure why you'd wanna fuss with EZdrummer, haha.
Would you recommend the Pyle 6/7 as a decent MIDI drum controller? I dont want an entire drum kit for space and noise reasons, and the Pyle seems like a nice compact drum controller for the price. Not looking for a real drum replacement just want something I can hit like drums, record midi to ableton, and use my own samples with :)
Since your video title doesn't exactly match your video, can you tell me if it's possible to run the Pyle pted06 into ezdrummer. I have made multiple attempts but getting nowhere. Ezdrummer recognizes my Alesis Strike Pro SE just fine. No issues. I want to run the Pyle thru ezdrummer on the road
i have no idea why but with my alesis nitro, the open high hat is a tom, and the snare doesn’t even work, the rimshot is what triggers the snare, i have no idea how to fix this
