So, I FINALLY bought EZ Drummer 2 today but before making the purchase I stumbled upon your video again and just wanted to tell you how much I dig your song in this video. It's got such a great groove and your drumming takes it over the top!
As a genuine “gadget freak,” I really appreciate your videos! I’m a gigging singer/guitarist with a drum obsession.... I have built many ‘micro e-kits’ for my drummer that we use in live performances. Some of the kits have used ez drummer or Addicted Drums but taking my MacBook to gigs always made me nervous so typically my recent kits have revolved around midi with second hand modules. I have obtained a few modules: Alesis Strike Pro, DM10, Nitro, Pearl RedBox, Roland TD-9, and TD-3. Primarily I’m only depending on the modules for tom, kick and percussion voices. We use real, low volume cymbals and a Korg Wavedrum for snare (a lot of my material is very retro and played with steel brushes, which the Korg Wavedrum works very well with) I’m mostly happy with the setup (using TD-9 module mostly) but I miss the velocity resolution depth of the software drum programs. I’d like to design a “road worthy” Mac mini with a touchscreen (eliminating the need for a keyboard and separate screen) for live gigs. Anyway, I appreciate your various experiments with e-drums and view your channel as a great resource. I do wonder if through Patreon if you’re available for some consulting, as my obsession with this continues.... lol Cheers !
Very timely video! Just starting to learn drums on Nitro Mesh kit. Went ahead and picked up EZDrummer 2 to add some extra zest. Thanks 4 info and your guides!
@@chadschehin7193 I use a long USB 2.0 Type A Male to B (amzn.to/2VgbGoz). Connects drum kit to computer. I also use a long 3.5mm cable for headphones so they can reach the kit.
That sounds really good! Very natural. It's a charm to see you flowing on the kit. What kit are you playing on? Seems like a DIY mesh/trigger with dual (triple?) zone cymbals. I'm also curious of the module the pads go through.
As a Bassist who longs to be a drummer, I purchased this kit and I am in love with it. I have a pretty crapy laptop, are there any free light programs to mess around with. I'm pretty new to electric drums but, am I wrong in assuming you need a DAW to run this or can I just plug it in and go? Thanks for the great review!
I really want to purchase this when I get the money it’s just a shame it’s a lot of money but it’s totally worth it😂 probably going to get the pop punk pack along with it
This was very informative! I just bought the crimson 2 SE today. Would this program work well with the kit, and can it be loaded into the mod or do you need to run it through the laptop? Thanks so much!
i bought a Alesis nitro mesh kit . the one that was about 400$ two or three years ago . before i purchased the kit i searched for reviews on it . they mostly said for the low cost it was a decent e drum kit but the manual to set the different sounds on module was confusing and it is , for this old analog man . absolutely horrible . you , demonic sweaters should do a very slow tutorial on how to use it . and slow down and don't move along to fast . please & thankyou 😊
On PC, CPU is what really makes a difference. Having an i7 or Ryzen 5 or above will really help, also make sure you're using ASIO audio drivers. Either ones that come with your interface (if you have one) or ASIO4all. DO NOT use windows audio drivers, or it'll be awful. Set your buffers to 128 or below in your ASIO control panel. (lower is better). Or.... just about any Macbook Pro since 2012 is going to be able to get low latency. Superior drummer 3 running standalone or in Reaper should give you good results.
Does choking the cymbals work? I'm using drumgizmo with the Surge kit and when I choke, it just hits again. AVL kits work great, however they sound fake and need a second rack tom.
