Hey,me too. Now that I have time to actually tear into it and build it. My 97 dx was hit head on 2 weeks ago. Split the frame from the motor and saved it thank god! I've already put ALOT of time into it. Cant say alot of money but do have name brand parts i.e. Skunk2,AEM,HKS,BBK,INJEN,etc. I work at a yard where cars die. We actually just got a turbo wrx that cartwheeled this morning! Taking the Nrg hub out as I watch the video.
Also, I just got done turbocharging my JDM J32A six speed manual swapped CG1 Accord with a GT3582 turbo running on an AEM Series II 30-6051 standalone and it FLIES on 10 psi! It's making close if not over 500 whp. It has a LSD and it'll spin both front tires clear through 3rd and half way through 4th. It's so much fun.
That front end brings back memories of when I first installed the eBay turbo kit on my single cam. I just did it because I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on it, and I had already installed a DSM T25 turbo, an Evo III B16g turbo, and the eBay 50 trim was perfect for it because it hit right at VTEC crossover. I used a cheap set of DSM 440cc injectors, an EF resistor box, an eBay Kemso 255 LPH fuel pump, the OEM D16Y8 harness with a step-down harness to OBD1, a socketed and chipped P28, and a basemap from Xenocron. I didn't like that small cheap bar to plate intercooler, so I went with a bigger fin intercooler, but it ran great. I used a -4 feed with a 1mm restrictor and a -10 drain and that turbo lasted for 22k on the single cam, then another 26k on the B18B1 that I swapped in after I got sick of having no torque, and then I sold it to my boy who still uses it today...6 years after I bought it and it's still going skrong.
Hey, i really like what your doing to your car, i some need advice i got d16y8 with eagle rods and high comp nippon pistons and i got t3 rebuilt garret turbo, 880cc injectors and i was just wondering how much psi should i have it so i still be able to daily drive it and still be reliable and how much power will you think it be? This is 3rd engine now and i don’t want to blow another one, I’m only 17 so i don’t know a lot of you could help with any advice it will would help me out a lot, thanks
