I want people to realize, Ky and Sol have been respected rivals for YEARS now, and regarded him as such. So imagine suddenly, through a technicality your rival is now your father-in-law.
@@garytaylor8193 well gear ages are a lot more different compared to humans, and most gears that were produced had knowledge implanted into them which explains sins lack of knowledge compared to Dizzy which has the mind of an adult.
Then came Ariels who turned everything into a cluster fuck. Now we need a Kiske related family member to have an interest in Aria, bear a child and truly make it the world's most messed up family tree line ever seen after Adam and Eve
"Hell of a lot cheaper than food." Sol would probably say as he uses the money that Ky gave him _specifically to take care of his son_ for Frig knows what...!
Ky: "And while Sol is Sol, he was still acting like a *proper* parent" Sol: "Uhh...what do kids like as a treat.....they like things with sugar....and....think.....they drink water.....SUGAR WATER"
this is actually an interesting part of sci-fi i've wondered about for a while. the idea of being so old that eventually your great x10 descendants are walking around. at that point family will have to take on a different concept. your descendants and you will have to have a very unique relationship, especially since you'd have so many by that point. point being: sol should start looking into space travel.
@@malum9478 I wish to be immortal, I just wanna see how far mankind will go. Or how the apocalypse is gonna happen, both ways, I kinda don't wish to die someday since I'd be lost in time and seen as irrelevant regardless of the timeline
0:52 I like that even Dizzy gave an apalled look at the fact that Sin drank sugar water. Like she had it rough growing up but sugar water is pretty low.
@@elcomemierda2624 They were giving Sol money to take care of their son. The fact that Sol and Sin were apparently living like they were flat broke is damning evidence that the "take care of my son" money was going somewhere else...
@@elcomemierda2624 I mean Sols bike, weapon, booze and old rock records have to come from somewhere... considering that his hobby is building a gun with infinite energy output that uses ammunition which isn't produced anymore and pretty much only available via the black market... yeah that cash definitely did not go towards Sins upbringing ^^"
@@blackheartzerotheundergrou3225 But in all seriousness, if we take Sol's scientist background into consideration, he may have been trying to be deliberately careful of Sin's diet. He probably has the best understanding of Gear's aside from the Gear Maker himself, and seeing how Sin has such a high metabolic rate, he might've had to buy stuff not commonly found in the local market to keep Sin fit and healthy. Sugar water was, as Sin put it, a delicacy because it was one of those things he could consume without extensive repercussions like being unable to satiate his hunger, or being his equivalent of junk food.
All this become a lot worse for Ky when we consider that Dizzy's mom,Justice, has turn into Aria again and without a doubt will visit her daughter and grandson often and most likely she will also bring Sol to accompany her

Gear growth patterns make a lot more sense considering the implication that there’s non-human animal DNA mixed in there. Most animals have a very short juvenile period (most are sexually mature in a year or two), then seem to stop aging until they collapse and old age hits like a brick. Humans are actually the exception due to having very long juvenile stage compared to our lifespan. If Gears have a multi-century lifespan (Sol’s over 200), then they won’t look old until they’re getting close to dying.
@@PLATINUMBROLY That would be awkward, the person you hated that turned into your rival becomes your friend is now your dad in law because young Dizzy rode the lighting
@This is Dumb my memory on the story is basically nonexistent but isn't Aria (which I assume is Sol's wife based on context here) was the originator of the gears or at least where they're being made from? If I'm wrong I'll be happy to be told that and look it up myself when I get home but yea, that's what my memory is telling me
As valentines technically they are “aunts” of dizzy. There is also Testament who was like a big sibling to dizzy and former knight like Sol and Ky. I think Testament is over 80 by now and we already know what he looks like in strive. Judgement was a former knight colleague of sol and ky and was nuts to turn themselves into a gear. Leopardon could be a demented pet for sin assuming it’s still alive. Think of all other gears as potential relatives to some degree. And there was a few non human ones but their gear cells are not as pure as the ones I listed above and prefer to live in isolation in Ganymede

Ky : im worried my familly wont be accepted. Dizzy : the public treats me as a goddess and wishes I was Queen. Sin : Cool so where does Sol fall into this? ********** Ky's familly : an adorable group of seven people consisting of those who were responsible for the deaths of a sizable percentage of the Population. That familly consisting of Ramlathol who just recently killed a bunch of people, Elphelt who could have killed a bunch of people, Dizzy who was being hunted by hundreds of Bounty Hunters, accidently killed a bunch of people and was part of a Notorious Sky Pirate Crew, Sol Badguy one of the scientists responsible for the Gear disaster in the First place, Aria Aka Justice who was brainwashed and killed Even more people, Ky himself who was a great War Hero that killed a Bunch of enemies in war, and Sin who maybe did some stuff following his Grandpa around because the World Government does not want people to know his War Hero King Dad, plowed the Daughter of Justice. I also find it funny that the most innocent person in the familly is NAMED Sin and traveled around with his grandpa who named himself Badguy. I love this game series!!
Sol knew all along that he was raising his grandson using his son-in-law's salary from being a king and he used all those money to upgrade Junkyard and his bike and used the remaining money to buy water and sugar to feed a growing grandson who's technically still 5 no wonder Sin eats in the middle of battles, he must be hungry as fuck all this time Sin had it rough lmao, his father is busy being a king while his mother is frozen, and his grandpa pranked him big time; "Old man, give me a cool weapon" "Use a flagpole or something" could've made some kind of new overpowered weapon for his grandson but no, sarcastically told a 5 y/o to use a flagpole as weapon, SOL, HE IS FIVE, HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND SARCASM
I'm pretty sure Sol told Sin to hunt a lot for his meals and I quite frankly think Sol did an alright job in doing so. Sin never lived any sort of lavish lifestyle and is probably a better person for it. Also being told to just drink water isn't exactly a war crime. Sol definitely lives a different life than Ky does and Ky should have understood that having Sin travel with Sol would change him.

@@belrog4269 But goddamn, the way Sol's backstory ends with Aria. It's as if Ragna got his happy ending and Terumi was a good guy all along. No, instead we get the ending of Central Fiction, which is kind of bittersweet, but nowhere near as heartwarming as Sol's ending (for now).
I’ve always been focused on Ky’s face in this scene, I’ve only now realized Dizzy is just as if not even more pissed, and my enjoyment of this moment has increased immensely.
Not really. Aria was pregnant with Sol's child when she mutated into Justice, but it took her the better part of 200 years to birth Dizzy. No one expected that to happen so Sol didn't realize he had a kid and therefore we didn't know for sure who Dizzy's father was, even though the general consensus for the past decade was that Sol is Dizzy's father. The Valentines are all clones so they don't really count, but Dizzy is Sol's only biological child.
I saw this randomly a while ago when I didn't know anything about GG. I've learned a lot of the lore since then, and I now understand why this scene is absolutely hilarious xD
@@righteouself9928 Because Sol and his girlfriend Aria were two of the first Gears, they're sort of considered indirect "parents" of all other Gears. Since Dizzy is a Gear, she could be thought of as Sol's daughter, and since Dizzy and Ky married, that makes Sol be Ky's father-in-law. Considering Sol and Ky have been rivals for the entire 20+ years of the Guilty Gear franchise, Ky has trouble coping with that information whenever his family brings it up, like in this cutscene xD
@@arashishinkaku169 Ky realizes it in a different cutscene. This bit is just him freaking out more and more that all the Gears in his family are basically Sol's kids or grandkids, and are starting to view him as a father figure. Also Aria is Sol's girlfriend/wife. _Dizzy_ is his daughter.
@@arashishinkaku169 the sugar water thing is a different part of the same freakout because sugar water is considered a poor person treat in Japan & Ky, who's a king, was explicitly sending Sol babysitting money so that reaction was more "that fucker likely spent all that money on his bike".
