It felt like they had no idea the original Ghost was gonna become such an popular character which is why he's basically Gaz in a cool mask and dies in the same game hes introduced in. I'm personally not a fan of the new design but I do like what they've done personality wise with the character so far

Killing him off in the original was a mistake because the fans loved him lol, so I'm glad they gave him more character in this remake

Simply the military in rebbot is work in organize and branches and aint no away 1 General rank get away with mercenaries company killing off biggest and well known task force and also 1 task force saving the world with few peoples is just super unrealistic without any contact of official. In reboot Ghost is far more experienced and skilled than original compared fight scene and Shepherd is just desk sitiing just like how General suppose to be, that's why Shepherd in reboot fled when things goes red. Ghost will eat Shepherd easily in reboot. And most of people blinded by nostalgia just cause original ghost is badass in glimpse of their childhood or teenage memories, doesn't mean he's better than current ghost we have here, his stories in comic is quite interesting tho.

i like both but the new one fits better bc he’s used to being alone and working for himself which makes him cold-blooded. and his relationship with soap brings out the softer side in him

Given his backstory the remake ghost is more fitting imo, plus when we do have the few moments he shows care for soap or tries to crack jokes makes them more impactful
