The 3d one is, off putting, but the story quality hasn't really dropped like other series that have.

The best part is the second part, and we had to wait ages, such as everyone forget, blame Netflix

I didn't really like SAC_2045, tbh. The story (mainly during the second season) felt like a bad copy of 2ng Gig on steroids for basically no reason. The main villain, Takashi, felt like a badly mixed ripoff of both Aoi and Kuze. And he was just a 14 year old boy! I don't think that such a young character are "mature" enough to be a villain in a GitS media. The new character designs were bad. Togusa still looked like in his late 20's - early 30's, when he's supossed to be over 40 now. The Major and the new girl, Purin (Pudding) looked like 14 year olds. The new characters (Purin and Clown/Standard) were mostly annoying and I didn't feel like they should belong in a special unit like Section 9. Throwing out already established characters (Asuma and Proto) to make way for them was just a bad idea. The post-humans were an interesting idea. And I wouldn't have minded, if they could dodge single handgun bullets or something similar on that speed level. But dodging rapid Tachikoma machine gun bullets like it's nothing, just ruined them for me. There was almost not a single reference to the original SAC series (other than the Marco Amoretti case from the 1st Gig, I admit that was cool...). No mention of Aoi/The Laughing Man, Kuze or Takashi/The Puppeteer. Motoko haven't fold a single origami crane during 2045. It would've been a cool Easter Egg... And finally, I didn't mind the CGI approach, but imo, this was ugly (although I admit, the second season looked much better)! A series like GitS would've much deserved something on the same level like the Resident Evil CGI Movies we've received in the last 6 years! Even the first RE CGI Movie from 2008 (Degeneration) looks light years better than this crap!
