Ghost of Tsushima - First Impressions 

The Guiding Wind is super cool. There's a lot of leaves and flowers in the air, and trees will bend in the direction you need to go. It's like the world is helping you with your journey.

This is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played.

I platinumed this game on PS5 when it came out and its really awesome to see how many ppl get to enjoy it now. I wasnt even aiming for 100% completion, the game is just that immersive

Been playing Ghost of Tsushima on Steam Deck and its running surprisingly well

Sucker Punch are such a great and underrated studio. Between the Sly Cooper trilogy, the Infamous trilogy and now Ghost Of Tsushima they haven't made a single bad game in their entire 25 year run.

I started playing this morning and man its feels like it will be hard to put down for some time never felt this way since rdr 2

*I* platinumed this game on release in ~50hrs. And I was neither rushing nor really trying to, until I saw how close I was. Now, that was pre-DLC and Legends, so the additional 20hrs sounds about right. And yes, the combat for this game is superb. And the art is utterly beautiful. Which is amazing given how light a presence this is on my Playstation HD. Very efficiently designed. In every aspect.

One of the beat opening scenes is the scale of the Mongols invasion, and the scene of you riding from the forest to the open fields with the opening credits with the instrumentals is amazing. Games don't give me goosebumps really but it givrs me chills.

Both the english and japanese voice acting are top notch. The characters are relatable and the story is touching. Towards the end especially it gets emotional. Hope you had as much of a blast as I did.

This game on PS5 is an experience. The haptic feedback adds so much to the combat. I also recommend playing the game on Lethal mode. Combat just feels so much more realistic.

No spoilers but the final fight of this game..... just heart wrenchingly good. One of the most memorable scenes in gaming history for me.

Glad to hear this pc port is optimized right out of the box. No shenanigans, except the online service stuff. Got it on my wish list, but prolly will wait for a sale. Thx for the vid Mort! Can't wait for the full review.

One of my favorite games of recent years easily. It’s just beautifully made all around and takes mechanics that are seen everywhere, but implements them in creative and enjoyable ways.

It’s crazy to think our personal data collected through PSN is more valuable than selling the single player game everywhere.

So great to have this impression. Looking forward to the full review--gameplay mechanics especially. I've been quite interested in this game and some repliers to prior comments encouraged me more. Does anyone have feedback on: how block-timing/twitchy-tweaker is this game? I cannot time a block for crap. In any game. Generally it's not a problem if there's also a dodge-roll (distance dodge, not tweaker short-dodge-actually-block-mechanic-with-different-animation). So most things every learns to block, I can enjoy on "normal" just fine. But if it's heavy on the timing...I don't have a Tier 1 sandistivan so that's going to be unfortunate. Oh in a similar vein: is there a lock-on mechanic and can it be disabled/avoided? Pretty sure Mort will cover this mechanics stuff some in full review. Like the K&M binding options and other important stuff. Perhaps I'll try GoT with the MoveMaster.

Other than collectables, needing a bit of searching, the only trophy I missed doing my first playthrough on PS5 was to kick an enemy off a cliff (a skill you can pick up). Great game, I hope it stays enjoyable all through your playthrough.

Ghost is fantanstic. One of my favorite games that has come out the in past 5 years. Mort, you're going to love it. The only very small criticism I have of the game is that some of the open world tasks can get repetitive. But if you aren't trying to 100% the game, it doesn't matter.

I really wish I could experience this game for the first time again like you are now. My first Platinum.

Nice preview, glad to hear you're enjoying it so far. I know you favour KB&M but I think anyone playing this is doing a disservice to themselves if they don't try it with the dual sense controller - the haptics add another massive dimension to everything about the game. You have to go wired to use it on PC too, which I would normally baulk at, but it's absolutely worth it IMO.

I kinda think the conception of the guiding wind is also a metaphor of Jin’s father. In Jin’s memory, Yuriko told him before the funeral that even if Jin’s father passed away he would continue to guide him like wind, (while his mother would be watching over him as birds in the woods.) Can’t remember the exact words though, was playing the Japanese version.

You are in for 1 hell of a time. My favorite game of PS4 generation by a hair, enjoy!

Love this game. I’m on my fourth play through as this time I got it for my Asus Rog Ally via steam as it’s running a lot smoother then I thought it would. The devs seemed to have done a great job in porting this over to pc.

The Repeatable Boss Fight are one of the best parts for me. Especially for testing builds. Also, the DLC can be quite tough!

Ghost was such a joy to play. The story of Jin Sakai is really great and the gameplay amazing. I buy it day 1 on the PS4. I am on my 3rd play throught right now.

The graphics in this game as a last gen title is simply amazing. It's hard to describe without seeing it first hand. I just started playing it and it's blowing my mind.

Have fun. It is an amazing game played it on PS five and loved every second of it.

“Not available in your country” is the most sony thing to do.

The DLC "Iki Island" is a great 10 hour follow-up to the main storyline. I hope you experience it.

It's sad for us here in the Philippines, that both PC versions of "Ghost of Tsushima - Director's Cut Edition", and "Helldivers 2", are no longer available for purchase at Steam or Epic Game Store. And I was REALLY HOPING to FINALLY PLAY GOT on the PC.

Is it possible to skip cutscenes/dialogue in this PC version? I couldn't finish the ps4 version due to this issue

I was blown away by this game. It's one of the most well written and designed games I've ever played.

The login situation is really unfortunate. But I personally couldn't put the game down when it came out on PS4. Hope you enjoy it, though I think you're right about the multiplayer. I imagine it'll become tedious to finish everything in that part of the game. To that end, I am most interested in your assessment of that part of the experience because I've found it difficult to grind out the multiplayer trophies on my console version with randoms. I got the platinum for the singleplayer experience in like a month, but many of the multiplayer trophies I still have yet to earn because I didn't feel like grinding it all out when none of my real life friends own the game for one reason or another.

Great port, flawless even (for me at least). Meant to mess around with it a bit yesterday, get my kb/m controls dialed in, get a feel for the game for a proper sit down. Somehow put over 6 hours in and it honestly felt like maybe 2.

its very rare that im excited about a game these days and i really want to play this one.. but im still balls deep into BG3 since i started that really late lol.

my favorite game in last few years! Story is amazing, fighting is fun n intuitive, plus assassinations remind me of Tenchu.

Played this on ps4, ps5 and saving the PC version as a treat in month or two. One of the most immersive and beautiful games along with RDR2 your ever play

One of the games I finally took the plunge and bought a PS5 for, my first PS since the 1 I inherited from a housemate. Despite being released for the 4 and the 5 being out for several years now,, I still haven't seen a game that was as visually stunning while at the same time offering an engaging story and excellent gameplay (either on PS or PC) and I'm happy they seem to have managed to port it properly. The duels/boss fights especially have some of the most beautiful arenas in any game. The only thing that could have made this better would have been a proper decision tree, at least a choice between staying on the Samurai path vs. going ninja but those decisions are taken from you by the game.

Seems to be a Vram/Memory issue where after a certain amount of time played the game starts severely hitching (dropping from 100-110 fps to literally 2 fps 'pauses') if you're running max settings. I've seen a few people mention it and I personally had it happen during the "bear cutscene" and it persisted into gameplay.

The game is artistically a masterpiece, and the gameplay is really satisfying - the combat specifically reminds me of earlier AC games, and it's an absolute blast.

Thanks for the video. My biggest concern with this one was that it went the Ubisoft route, and created an open, but boring world. I look forward to you 100%. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.

Love this game so much, fantastic gameplay, beautiful world, much better story than it had any right to have

Its quite good and runs buttery smooth on my 4080. One of the best looking games out there and the acting and swordplay are fantastic.

My biggest complaint is the standoff bug which stops you from being able to raise your sword when the enemy approaches you and you basically have no option but to be hit. After happening multiple times I just don't use standoff anymore and tend to open up fight with a chain stealth kill. Hopefully they fix this soon.

My biggest peeve is the lack of subtitles for the japanese VO ambiental dialogue. I had to switch to english because of that and I was really enjoying the japanese VO. A big turn off for me.

I've been looking forward to this for years, and refused to buy a ps4/5 for it. Im so glad i waited. This game is an absolute masterpiece. I'm 34, and throughout my entire life, I have ever only paid attention to the story in a total of 3 games. I have never been one for story telling in video games; and this is one of the ones where I haven't even tried to skip the story. 10/10 game for me.

One of the best games i have ever played, as i love the setting, the combat, the story and even its last gen, a very pretty game.

My only complaint is the lack of rebinding of gamepad controls. I'm struggling with lb for block due to how I hold controllers for comfort. Also i find archery on the gamepad awful, I've never done well with shooting on gamepads. The sad part is that otherwise, the gameplay feels so much better on a gamepad than Keyboard/mouse.

I am once again recommending Game of Thrones, a niche cRPG in the vein of Dragon Age: Origins but only sword and board. There are a lot of problems but a lot to love, as well.

I love the single-player, but I might love the multiplayer more. It's a fully fleshed out mode, and a ton of fun. I'm glad I have jumped on right at the beginning so there are plenty of people to play with.

quick tip the game dos hard modes really well , dmg get increased for enemies and for you so the combat becomes more realistic. The online mode is also really good as an extra mode :)

can you copy saves from ps5 to pc?

As someone who plays primarily with a controller (outside of crpgs/trpgs) I find the fact that you only use a keyboard simply fascinating.

Enjoy yourself. This is such a wonderfully done game. Art direction is top tier.

I love GoT. I'm well aware it's not groundbreaking in any way gameplay wise. However the setting, time in history, Japanese culture, scenery etc just elevate the game to something I found quite special

I recommend you swap the Q and L-CTRL keybinds. Parrying without having your three wasd fingers on those keys sucks.

I feel like I’m playing this game for the first time even though I’ve played it once on PS4 and once on PS5. Also, while Xbox controller and mouse and keyboard work fine it’s definitely better to play with the PS5 controller for the haptic feedback. This game is the definition of art!

This game runs flawlessly on PS5 and it's a gorgeous game. I'll probably double dip again and get it for PC in a few months time.

PC port is amazing i got gtx1050 2gb Pc and gtx1050ti 4gb Laptop played tested both of them 1080 low Frs 3 Frame generate give smooth 40-50 fps. So low end pc friendly.

Dont miss the optional side quests. Theyre worth doing. And dont miss the optional boss fights. Theyre easily the best in the game. :)
