Trouble is if you make the next game sand box based that means no option to go wandering across the map causing havoc after the missions are finished. I don't relish the thought of continually replaying the same missions over and over. That means the game will be relegated to an afterthought within a few months whereas I've currently got something in the region of 1500 hours on both Wildlands and Breakpoint.

@Dirty_Dumb_NAFO_Scum
@Dirty_Dumb_NAFO_Scum 5 месяцев назад
@@Ziiyke The problem with that is that the entire series is served so much better as a tactical-lite arcade shooter rather than being a rehash of Rainbow 6 1998, or SWAT 4. Frankly the only reason why Rainbow 6 1998 was any good is because there was literally nothing else like it, it was all sci-fi shooters back then. But the limited range "do-the-right-singular-strategy-or-die" gameplay of Rainbow 6 1998 is really really boring. Then again I've played a decade of the arma series amounting to around 4k hours, and it all starts feeling the same after a while. The problem with tactical-lite arcade shooting is there's less requirement to do precisely the right thing, and while it would be nice to have more squad controls, I don't want something on par with GR1.

The fact that a game such as "gray zone warfare" is being made guarantees that Ubisoft won't make a game like that because that sort of market is already very niche and very saturated.
@chancerichards7484
@chancerichards7484 6 месяцев назад
You can make it all 3, but that takes more effort than I think they are willing to give. You can make it like conquest where you are restricted from going to other zones until conquering the first zone. Giving you a large sandbox to play in. Then making each mission truly mean something and allowing you to plan how you attack that area. Then as you progress through each area more side missions and the world will open up to allow that open world aspect. You can seriously have all 3 pretty easily but like I said that’s if they want to put the effort in to make it happen.

I would rather an open world. You would just explore however you want but as soon as you get near a base, Bowman (some contract) would get on the line. They would inform you of a mission at that base and it would be contained in that base. You could roam arounds however you like. The missions should sort of be like the faction missions in breakpoint. A different objective every times you get to that base. This would expand replay ability.

@cameronnovy3718
@cameronnovy3718 6 месяцев назад
I personally, I don’t want linear mission design as it restricts the player too much and significantly reduces replay value, maybe they could have a few missions that are linear but hopefully not too many. As for the other two options, provided they are designed well, I’d take either. I believe that the ‘tactical sandbox’ would likely be the easiest way to implement realistic, well thought out tactical mechanics. You could have dense urban structures, caves, sprawling complexes or just simple FOBs strewn across a large village. It would be possible to have all that work in an open world game, but it would take a significant amount of work to seamlessly implement it alongside the much more spread out loosely connected open world style gameplay. Open world gameplay definitely has its charm when you can go anywhere and do anything in whatever order you want, but it needs proper depth. Everything you do SHOULD have an impact on the world/region you are in; take out SAM sites, now you can utilize air assets more freely, take out CC center, less organized and slower response from reinforcements, etc. This system blended with a well fleshed out open ended mission design, with deep tactical mechanics would be a dream game.
@fus149hammer5

Agree completely. Finish all the missions in Breakpoint but the world stays the same. Taking down bosses, commanders, transmitters, convoys and operating bases has absolutely no effect on enemy abilities at all not even for a short while. Fly/drive away a couple of km and it all resets.

I honestly just want a sequel to Wildlands with an alive open world filled with civilians and urban areas, with an engaging story but with the graphics, physics, animations, customization and mechanics of Breakpoint! I feel like an open environment works with Ghost Recon, but it doesn't have to be a huge map the size of an Assassins Creed game. It can be the size of MGSV where it's an huge open space with numerous areas to explore and do missions in, but have multiple regions reachable only via AI controlled Helo drop off and extraction. No more of this driving and flying across the entire map like a GTA game. Some areas should be too heavily fortified with SAM launchers etc that we can't land so we have to do halo drops and take over the region before a helicopter can safely extract us. We should have full control over our squad with commands. The player should be able to direct his team to sit in one place and they stay, instead of running all around from cover to cover. There should be two fire options. A. Fire (teammate shoot from their position behind cover) B. Clear it hot (teammates advance up killing all enemies in sight). We should also be able to have an overwatch system similar to MGSV did with Quiet. Where we can direct our sniper to take an elevated position and pick off enemies while we are sneaking through enemy camps.

Yeah definitely agree I feel like we need a mix of all the past games when we talk campaign. Open world free roam but also on the rails type tactical shooter that’s also able to give many linear, immersive, cinematic experiences throughout exploration being able to tackle a tactical campaign from any direction but also encounter important pieces of cinematic moments throughout open world whether in game or cutscene. We also need a fun multiplayer pvp with different modes like plant the bomb, ground war conquests, invasions, like enlisted sort of but obviously not ww2. Ghosts should have their own force composition too like breakpoint’s operation could have been so big but they all die in the beginning because the devs wanted that lol. Ghost recon would get a lot more peeps especially if the game is fun, engaging w authentic detail in guns/sounds/ballistics, cover/foliage, camo buffs and other cloaking systems, combat outfit, atmosphere, weather, destruction, gore, anatomy, and more hair styles, natural hair color shades pls for the love of God no blue hair in real life military experience that’ll make you a huge target, squad insignia tattoos, better selection of manly faces and feminine faces. As for squad limit they need to ditch the 4 man only route and go big and add in a whole selection of ghosts that are tied in different troops, teams and squadrons like assault, reconnaissance, Team F, Team A, Avaiation Squadron, Combat Support, Signal, Troop A and Troop B consist of A B C D E F G H which could be Assault squads like I’m just spitballing composition but Ik I want campaign squads to feel more authentic which will really keep players engaged especially if they allow us to micromanage our squads and utilize their weapons properly. Squad formations and go commands also need to be there on day one for next ghost recon. Conquering the campaign should be a territorial dispute and fight so what we fight for we gain and the enemy can fight back and conquer like saints row 2 but GR. Also stealth in this next game needs to be better and introduce different ammo types if we want to get technical and stealthy or maybe players want to take different approaches and switch it up and go guns blazing. I really hope Ubisoft can add what I tried to explain. Later g and fellow ghosts

I would love if they add better outfit customization, like adding pouches and magazines for your weapons to your vest and battle belt and grenades, etc. And have people that actually know weapons help make the game better like call of duty did when they got help from all the gun RU-vidrs to make better weapon designs and more attachments. No Robots, gear levels, and no island that had no life to it. They should also add first person for the next game so I can clear interiors of buildings.
@twentytwo138
@twentytwo138 5 месяцев назад
The problem is when you add both 1st and 3rd person on toggle button, the animations and the character are janky. They have to find a balance on building the game to work both ways, and neither is perfect. Skyrim and Arma are good examples of this, it looks normal in 1st person but in 3rd person it looks janky. I think Ghost Recon system is great as it is, a 3rd person game with the option to shoot from 1st person. The animations in 3rd person are decent, and shooting in 1st person is decent too.
@pepepoopoocheck8306
@pepepoopoocheck8306 5 месяцев назад

@@pepepoopoocheck8306Yes, but that is a game built on 3rd person with a 1st mod. So it's the 1st person mod that looks a bit janky. Something has to suffer, it can't be perfect in both views. And most developers would take a shortcut, make the 1st person good and 3rd person janky.

They literally had multiple actual military consultants for the making of Ghost Recon Breakpoint, there's whole video on youtube talking about it. "no robots", there is a war being waged across the ocean that is being fought with "robots" and both the Russians and the Ukrainians are looking to invest in ground based combat drones. And how can you say the island had "no life" it literally had some of the most atmospheric terrain, lighting, fog and foliage effects of any tactical game ever made. There's literally nothing to compare Auroa to in any other tactical game. If the game had complete and utter weapon realism, we'd have a functional choice of less than 10 guns that actually did anything different from one another, especially when it comes to assault rifles as far as a tactical game goes.

Really appreciate you carrying the conversation over G. Despite our preferences, coming to a place of understanding and respect is the goal. I think the franchise should look more like a Arma/GR1, but it's really interesting to see the reason why folks prefered the other options. My overall argument is this though: if you give us a sandbox, you empower us the player to play the game however we want. Those who selected open world actually don't get that. Sandbox doesn't mean you don't have open world. But it means you can play the game however you want in an open world, because the games settings allows you to. By selecting merely an open world, you're stating that you want to have a restrictive experience playing the game. We play Arma because the game allows you to play your missions however you want, with whatever equipment, map, characters, settings, etc.

The genre is already saturated with games such as that now, and ARMA has that whole thing on lock. Making a military "ready or not clone" will bomb the ghost recon series badly, and then ubisoft will stop making the series entirely. I hate to say it but Breakpoint really did a great balance between making a game accessible and including enough involved mechanics to find enjoyment for experienced players. Trying to make the ghost recon series like the original rainbow 6 will kill the series completely.
@Dirty_Dumb_NAFO_Scum
@Dirty_Dumb_NAFO_Scum 5 месяцев назад
@@Go_Coup There's immersion and realism. And Breakpoint was never meant to be completely realistic and I don't understand why people are obsessed with that now that ARMA has been an established franchise for more than a decade now. Back in 2001, there were virtually zero realism based military games, now there are too many. The available audience for turning the GR series into "military version of ready or not" is much smaller than the audience for Breakpoint style gameplay. And frankly I'm tired of hardcore realism, I've played the arma series since 2001 and now Konami doesn't make the metal gear series, and Breakpoint is basically like MGSV plus tactical-lite gameplay. It fills an underserved niche of gameplay, and that is far better than making the ghost recon series something that will sell far worse than any of it's recent incarnations.

Ghost Recon is incredibly good, even with its bad launch, the game played in a tactical and realistic way, without hud with spartan mod, and an experience that no other game has, I wish it was more realistic and tactical, many mechanics that could take advantage from rainbow vegas 1 and 2, rappelling on buildings and windows, infiltrating doors using flash, camera under the door, c4 on the door, and many other mechanics that if placed in the open world ghost recon would be perfect, having a 3 person and 1 person mode , have multiplatform, and at least up to 6 players can play in the open world together, doing the campaign, if possible 8, sound of the most realistic weapons, without futuristic things like drones please, (Enemy drones) observation drone is part of the ghost recon a long time ago, and some other mechanics from the old ghost recon themselves, from metal gear solid that you should study and apply in your own way in ghost recon, such as the camouflage system according to the terrain, interrogation, points system with helicopters fixed on the maps, this is extremely realistic, many of Splinter Cell's mechanics are very good, a real base where you plan each mission, where you are going to go, where you are going to extract, maps of the base plan or the building of the mission, if they managed to research and study these mechanics and apply them in ghost recon, which is a perfect world for this, it would be very successful, a well-made story, a well-made map, without looking like an artificial map, more weapons and customizable equipment, they can make a harcade mode to capture different types of audiences, but they also create a more realistic choice of modes, such as spartan mod, instead of turrets and electronic automatic mortars, place enemies there controlling, instead of the behemooth, place enemies inside a tank, missions more elaborate, I recommend researching and taking a look at series in this style such as seal team, swat and applying it in your own way, what the entire community has as an opinion, is that if the breakpoint mechanic combined with the wildlands campaign and map would already be perfect, literally a ctrl c, ctrl v, that's what the faithful ghost recon community would like in a next game, like codename over, I'm Brazilian and I can say that this is definitely what the Brazilian community wants in a next ghost recon, Trust your faithful community.

Hey G! The argument between a Sandbox and an Open World approach has always been, at least in my mind, a question of whether or not Ubisoft has it in them to do justice to the later, not how much more "tactical" one's over the other, 'cause you know they both can be approached in that way. The day this studio has anything to offer with an Open World outing that I couldn't find in an older, large Sandbox experience, besides seamless traversal of the game world, I'll be the first one to champion that, until then they should stick to smaller scales. I know you know this well but, people should remember: there's no amount of content, map size or DLC that can replace gameplay depth, refined mechanics and technical accuracy; if there was anything I've learned from going back over and over again to Terrorist Hunt in the earlier R6 and GR games is that, military tactical shooters have more in common with fighting games, rather than Ubisoft's brand of "murder tourism".

Future Soldier is linear and it's the best Ghost Recon game, the one that put the franchise on the map. I prefer open world because i love Wildlands, but there has to be some linearity in missions like in Future Soldier. I'm kinda tired of all the simple basic missions in Wildlands and Breakpoint. There's base, you can attack from any side, in the center of the base there's a thing you need to destroy/take/hack and you find your own way because it's open world. It became boring and stale, basically you either clear the whole base and hit the objective, or you sneak in and hit the objective quickly and easy. I want some interesting scripts and linear ways, sometimes i want to be forced to play a certain way, i want special events. Spec Ops: The Line game was linear and it was really good, Splinter Cell are linear and also great, Metal Gear Solider all the other before 5 were linear.
