Johnny Blaze has been having it really rough lately. After a short stint as the king of the underworld, he finds himself in a small town with a beautiful house and a beautiful wife. However, the Spirit of Vengeance once again comes knocking, and Johnny is tormented with horrific visions, visions that the wonderful life he's been shown may actually be a lie. That this is not his beautiful house, this is not his beautiful wife, and he must return as The Ghost Rider!
▸ Ghost Rider is the name of multiple antiheroes and superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Marvel had previously used the name for a Western character whose name was later changed to Phantom Rider. As for his powers, he is considered one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe.

Randell Flag, is the bad guy from, "The Stand". I really liked the topic of this episode. My mom, hated Ghost Rider, and The Punisher. Wouldn't let me keep them. First world problems.

@@AceTheSkylord I mean they do have some promise towards the tone I'd personally like. just think of what they did with Werewolf by Night, and that was just a holiday short type of thing. but honestly it would be hard for them to pull it off, even with the more "dark" tones they've been going for with something like Secret Invasion or FatWS. I mean just think of Blade for instance. I personally believe there is no way that this new Blade film is going to feel like one. definitely hyped they're bringing the character back, but have absolutely no hope because of what Disney has been doing with their...... everything

I love this direction of story telling. This is the sort of story telling I've wanted a Ghost Rider movie to be like, where everything is quite horrifying and dangerous and Johnny's heroism is more about dealing with the Rider *and* all of the supernatural threats. The tone is literally perfect, down to the idea that maybe Johnny housing the Rider makes him the most dangerous of all. I have got to see more of that kind of story telling.

This is one of the best series Marvel has at the moment. This is the definitive version of Ghost Rider. Is mature. Is grotesque. Is supernatural. Is everything you can ask for in a Ghost Rider comic book. In fact, because of this series, I started reading past Ghost Rider stories. Apparently one of Ghost Rider weaknesses back in the day was he was a coward 😂 But this series is why Ghost Rider is one of my faves at Marvel. This reads like a tv series. A mature tv series. Is a must-read for all Ghost Rider fans.

It is, but in the Dark Tower/Gunslinger books Roland knows him as Walter O’Dim. It’s the same entity in a ton of different Stephen King books.

I forgot how cool Johnney Blaze is as the Ghost Rider, I have the DK Encoylopeida of the charachter and the stories in it are bad ass. Hope you cover him more in the future. Also if we are seeing him in comics now, do you think this is a sign he will appear in the upcoming films or shows?

that's the beauty of ghost rider. Whether he is depicted as insanely powerful or closer to "normal" power like he originally was, he is a great character. It just so happens that for 90% of his existence, he has been insanely powerful

What a cool character/design (and artwork). I’m guessing Johnny Blaze has the “windshield” thing from Danny Ketch because it comes with the spirit of vengeance? Obviously also because it looks badass. But what’s the in-universe reason? And what happened to Danny?

Danny is the Death Rider aka he has different powerset from a traditional spirit of vengeance he gain this power to knock some sense into Johnny when he the King of Hell

Given how much of this content you consume Rob, if you're excited about this Ghost Rider then I'm definitely on board. As part of your generational zeitgeist, I remember how awesome Ghost Rider can be when he's written well. With all the focus on certain characters in comics it's always great when a less supported one gets a good angle, especially with the character that feels so different like Johnny Blaze.

Til date Ghostrider is one of the best supernatural characters put to paper, from back story to design, he's just so freaking cool, I don't think anyone would look at him and go that dudes lame, Thats how cool he is.
