The penance stare didn't work the first time because Lobo headbutted him amd being physically stronger than ghost rider but when the angel took over he was strong enough to hold him down and make him look.

DC isn't really that OP. Thor vs Superman would end with Thor beating Superman easily. Hulk vs Superman would end in a stalemate. Thor vs Wonder Woman would end with Thor destroying her. Marvel have more OP heroes than DC, tho mostly are space-related heroes compared to DC's Earth based ones. Unless you count the most powerful Earth based heroes in Marvel (mostly X-Men and Molecule Man and Sentry). Avengers have some of the most powerful heroes such as Thor, Hulk, Dr Strange, Scarlet Witch, but that is about it.

Strange is spanked by Fate, I called this even before DB, and Hulk takes too long to ramp up and has too many weaknesses, he's human. Darkseid would beat all of them alone with Anti-life and they would be all slaves/apart of Darkseid. Even if we take a lesser villain like Braniac they won't win...Thor is known to lose because he's too reckless and expects and contest of strength. Don't even get me started with Almazo, Flash, Shazam, or Martian Manhunter. Everyone of them have something in their abilities or feats to stop the Hulk or just pop Scarlet Witch. This is clear to anyone who reads both. DC isn't about relativity so their characters are stronger. It focuses on ideals more than inspiration. Hence why a ton of the characters does some insane shit that makes zero sense, far more than Marvel.....unless you want Marvel to go that route.
