Ghostbusters 2016 absolutely destroyed everything about the originals. Not only is it not funny, but it's also cringe with a crap plot.
You know what, doesn't matter because there will never sequel, thank God.

The writers of 'She Hulk' are big fans of this movie.

McKinnon's constant smirking as if she's subtly indicating to us that she and the rest of the SNL cast got millions for this - that's what annoyed me most.

Haha I don't blame you! As a side note, I've been trying to find that Christmas Carol Guy Pearce version you suggested but sadly can't find it, only the muppets christmas carol, which is the best film ever made. I'll keep looking!

1/ This might be your funniest review yet! I actually have two comments, so this is the funny one, and the other is the serious one. Funny Highlights: -Right after you show us how smart lady got the job and creepy guy shows up, and says, "Since you wrote a book about ghosts, would you like to come to my haunted house and pet my ghoul?" I very nearly fell off my chair laughing! I even replayed it three times, and laughed so much, there were tears running down my cheeks! -"There's a ghost, so they try to kill it, although it's already technically dead." -I guess there is not actually a law about not releasing ghosts. (Nor zombies, vampires, werewolves and basiliskses. Releasing dementors and ringwraiths is an indictable offense, but for some reason, it's perfectly legal to release barrow-wights.) "Oh no, there's a ghost so let's hide in the bathroom although ghosts can go through walls. And look, there's a ghost in the sink!" -I hadn't thought about it, but you're completely correct that ghosts are supposed to be the spirits of dead humans. Although it's possible that these ones came from another dimension or vortex or something, so maybe there are live creatures who look like that in that dimension, and these are the ghosts of those. 🤔 -Slimer is the ghost of Jabba the Hutt after he finished his reducing diet... or a "sentient turd," as you suggested. -"So the ghost goes outside and he's even biglier now." Have you seen the "pitch meeting" for this movie? It's probably a good idea to watch it as it will help detox your brain after watching this movie! I'm glad you're feeling better, and I hope you and your family have a merry Christmas! 🎄
@letsreviewcrapwriting
@letsreviewcrapwriting Год назад
Haha, yeah slimer could be from another dimension because seriously, what is that thing! I have watched the pitch meeting, I tend to watch a few reviews like pitch meeting and honest trailers just so when i write up the script it doesn't sound like im copying anyone in terms of the points raised. And merry Christmas to you too!

2/ Serious comment: 1. I can't understand how these women think they can treat a male interviewee, then employee like that. Then I realized that #me too didn't start until 2017, probably approximately one year after the movie was released. (I know that everyone knows) that it was about men in power making women do things if they wanted a certain job. So in this movie, the women have just demonstrated that when they are in a position of power, they will do the exact same thing to attractive men. And when they do it, it's not only acceptable, it's also fun and enjoyable. 🤬 2. Next is the extremely realistic technical and science jargon conversation the ladies have about how the equipment works. (Critical Drinker's channel has a video on this called "Ghostbusters scene comparison" between 1984 and 2016.) It's not so much the wording, as it is the would-be nonchalant, dry-yet-smug delivery, the body language, and the facial expressions in which the actresses are trying really hard to pretend like this is a normal conversation women might have. It's as false as the She-Hulk bathroom scene. It's like the people who wrote these scenes have never met actual women. It's not that women might not have a conversation about technology and science; it's that they play the scene is as if they are male impersonators, pretending to be how guys would play that scene. What actually is more realistic is when they go to the alley so one of them can try out the protein gun (?), and they ask her if it's comfortable and things like that. That is definitely something women would say in that situation. But when the poor lady can't handle the recoil, and is careening around wildly, smashing into walls, that was not remotely funny. I actually felt concerned for her safety. The reaction of the three ladies cracking jokes while watching their friend sustain what looks like life-threatening if not outright fatal injuries is also not how women would behave (unless they are sociopaths, and the out-of-control lady had just stolen all of their boyfriends). I've probably only scratched the surface of problematic material in this movie, but this is probably a long enough comment for now. 😂 Thanks for the video and have a merry Christmas! 🎁🎅

The biggest problem with this movie is that it was constructed and "written" like Feig's Bridesmaids. That movie worked because it was just ladies and a few guys getting into relationship shenanigans and things surrounding it. You can improv a silly movie out of that. Ghostbusters had a story structure to it and you can't just completely improv your way through it.

Honestly, I really wanted to like this movie. The special effects, including the ghosts, are reasonably impressive. However, the "script" (mostly ad-libs), characters and everything else *SUCKED!* If it was good, there could've been a movie where the original Ghostbusters and the female Ghostbusters bust ghosts together, multi-verse style.
@letsreviewcrapwriting
@letsreviewcrapwriting Год назад
100% agree. I ended up watching the originals again because why not, and the differences were huge. Most importantly, they weren't trying to make every bit of dialogue a joke

This dumm Movie becomes much worse when actual watching the Actors playing their roles. Every Golden Raspberry in 2016/17 should have gong to one of these Actors.
