Yeah, Ray and Egon are backing away fast in fear and Peter’s running forward and looks at the others like he’s saying,”Come on! Come on! Let’s get out of here!”
I’m only piecing this now but I wonder if Peter’s “Go get ‘er, Ray!” line when facing Gozer was payback for Ray throwing him under the bus in this scene lmao
I saw this scene when I was a kid, the moment the ghost turned and screamed I just over the sofa and hid. Years later I’m watching IT and completely fine
The fact that the movie treats the ghosts as something otherworldly while also still being a funny movie is really impressive. Just a little bit in either direction and it just doesn't work tonally.
The serious side was totally lost on the 2016 crapfest. It's meant to be subtle humour that could also be watched almost as a horror movie, not an SNL live sketch.
@@alexojideagu I totally agree. The style of humor of the 2016 version (the 'everyone just fucking talk endlessly' type thing) just *did not* work for me.
@@razzledazzle1462 Not to be sexist, but that's basically "Female" humour. Men don't act like that together and find it irritating after 5 minutes. When a group of women chatter or figure a situation out, it's like a scatter brain chicken coup. "You speak, I speak, oh sorry, what's going on, now I'm confused, oh wait, is that it? I'm not confident but we can do this, Let's all scream, something funny happened. You said something funny. Don't do that! This might work"
Always thought "LISTEN! You smell something?" was kinda odd. Seen this movie dozens of times and I never noticed Peter shoots Ray a "seriously?" look and tries to smell something @ 0:52 lol
Egon: pulls out calculator Peter: 2:55 Stop that! 😂 Edit: What was he even going to calculate? Also he didn’t look surprised when Peter hit is out of his hands 😂
If they were gonna make a Ghostbusters 4, the main villain should be the library lady. Technically they never caught her in the trap and they weren’t really Ghostbusters yet unless you want to count the Ghostbusters game where they trapped her.
Ghostbusters game is ghostbus.... its canon-fry.... its canon! Trust me! Bozo.. wait we didnt... Ohh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay nows our chance get set ready!!!!!!!/>..........
But in the film, she was actually peaceful and wanted to be left alone. Yea she scared the librarian lady, and she screamed at The Ghostbusters because they were going to grab her, but I think she would leave people alone mostly.
The best part of the whole situation is how they really have no plan of action. They’re just excited to see an actual ghost, but beyond that, they haven’t a clue what to do about it. 😂
I once bought a candy bar as a birthday present for a friend. When I saw him that day, I asked him if he was serious about assembling an Avengers cosplay group. He said of course he was serious. "I'm gonna take back some of the things I've said about you," I said, handing him the candy bar, "You've earned it!"
4:07 I’ll be honest that is when I laughed hard at the “get her” part. Just not seeing the characters and hearing Venkman laughing at Ray’s “plan” and saying “get her” in a creepy/hysterical tone 😂
Remember, a ghost puts of a lot of energy. You can feel it...thats how you know its a ghost. They look as real and any person, but its all that energy that clues you in.
@elijahvincent985 Yes it was funny how Egon and Ray were screaming and running backwards while Peter was running forward turning back like he's saying "hurry, lets get out of here."
Really do feel like if we ignored the 2016 movie if we did like a proper remake of this movie they could go into the sci-fi gritty horror paranormal supernatural route and I say remake because I'm not counting the 2021 requel movie.
@thepalatrpro I agree, it was funny how Egon and Ray were walking backwards in fear while Peter is running forward and turning back like he's saying to them "hurry, lets get out here."
@@brandonallen3289 The bookcase that falls over was simply an accident caused by moving-crew members. The scene was kept because it added to the paranormal mystery and Ivan Reitman enjoyed Bill Murray's ad-libbing about the incident.
Yeah and it works because it immediately cuts the tension in the best way possible, because children who watch the film are going to be terrified when watching the part where the ghost librarian transforms but laugh when they run out of the library.
I just love bill murray portray venkman. ray and egon been caution and interest of ghost trail while he just walking lazy from behind and thinking like "why the hell i am doing this shit with them" XDXDXD
When those ghostbusters get their proton packs prepared they will come back to the new york public library to catch the ghost of Eleanor twitty after they catch slimer
