Oh Pipes ! I finished Ghostwatch and gone to sleep and there was a knock at my door - I yelled out loud. Man that movie got me so good ! Definitely a must watch.

Great interview. I actually saw it 'live' on the night with my mother and sister. It really fooled and shocked them. But I just kept saying it wasn't real but they wouldn't believe me. I remember my sister shouting "it's got Sarah, it's got Sarah!'

Excellent interview. One thing that really strikes you about Ghostwatch when watching as an adult so many years later, is what an exceptionally well-directed piece of work it is. Ghostwatch is a classic, a very significant entry in the pantheon of British horror. It was a seminal viewing event for those of us who watched it 'live' as little kids. Glad to see that Lesley Manning is finally receiving more recognition for her brilliant work. Everyone involved in the production totally nailed it. The limited edition Blu-ray from 101 is excellent, I'm so glad I updated the BFI DVD.

I watched live Halloween night here in Ireland in 1992. I was 8 years old and it traumatised me. Recently bought it on Blu-ray.

I have it, but I was wondering if I should put it ahead of a huge "watch" pile. Or should I just hold my first viewing for next Halloween? Thoughts?

I'd say that watching it on Halloween night probably won't add a great deal to the spookiness. However, it would benefit from being watched in some isolation; put a night aside for it, and maybe avoid watching any drama beforehand. It probably works best if you get into the 'spirit' of things and pretend it's a live 90s TV show. Any way you can replicate the intended context will make it more effective.
