Giannis Antetokounmpo's biggest contribution in last night’s win came at the defensive end. With the Milwaukee Bucks clinging to a 2-point lead with just over a minute to play, the Greek Freak blocked a Deandre Ayton's alley-oop attempt that would’ve tied the game. Afterwards, his teammate Pat Connaughton didn’t mince words, saying quote 'it’s the best block of all time. Obviously, we're a little biased and you can talk about the LeBron block as well. But as far as a block where he was covering the pick-and-roll… it's about as impressive as you can get.' With LeBron, skip literally just segments the 4th quarter. If any of his teammates get hot a few mins, they saved him. If he goes cold for a few mins, he choked. That’s exactly what Shannon’s argument was. If he doesn’t show himself to booker. We all know he going to the lane or taking that mid range fadeaway he likes to do. But since he showed himself booker threw the lob and I really didn’t think Giannis was going to have enough time to turn around and get back to it but he did it all in the same motion as the ball was floating in the air to ayton. My question is why did Skip compare a Finals block to Kawhi's block in the 2nd round of the bubble. That series was tied 1-1 there's like no stakes at that moment. He's looking at the plays in a vacuum instead of circumstance.

Even taking away the circumstances, lets just say both occurred in the Finals Game 4. Kawhi's block is still not as impressive as Giannis's block. Blocking someone smaller than you by like 4 inches, who literally runs right at you is not impressive. Adebayo's block on Tatum was far more impressive imo but even that doesn't reach the level of what Giannis did here.

Definitely the second best block besides LeBron just because the stakes of LeBron’s were a lot higher since it was game 7 and tie game instead of game 4 and up 2. The athleticism, coordination, and BBIQ required to move in to keep Booker from getting a lane, then turning 180 degrees, take 3 steps, then jump over a foot in the air to meet Ayton at the rim from the time Booker throws the lob is absolutely insane.

Assuming you're talking about the LeBron Game 7 block, I don't think the moment makes it the best of all time. LeBron had help on that play to get in the way of Iggy and Iggy went for a weak layup. It's a big moment, but it's still a chasedown block on a layup, which is about as easy as it gets. The moment elevated the block status but the play itself is not that great. And this isn't me trying to hate on Bron. He came up clutch by getting that block and that's why he's one of the best players of all time, but in terms of degree of difficulty, it's not close to what Giannis did. Giannis's block is great no matter when you do it, but for him to do it while guarding Booker and Ayton at the same time is crazy impressive.

I know Skip is always trying to be controversial, that's how he keeps his name out there and gets people talking about him. We get it! But there is a balance he needs to maintain on objectivity or people will start questioning his basketball credibility. You don't lose "cool points" by giving recognition to a player that you are not a fan of, if they did something noteworthy.
