My bf, who considered joining the Marines, avid Call of Duty fan, soccer/baseball star and outspoken dog person...melts like butter every time he's around my cat. He dotes upon her, spoils her, brushes her fur, plays with her...she warmed up to him before me. One day I asked him, "are you sure you're a dog person?" He always responds "I am, but she's got a place in my heart."

When my husband first moved in with me, he was allergic to cats and I had two persian kittens. He is this 6'2" hairy brawny dude who does yoga every day. The kittens adored him and would play around him and with him during all his asanas. He is no longer allergic to cats, and loves cats as much as I do.

I want to see this same energy matched for grown cats. There are so many cats w/o a home and they're all so sweet.

I also used to think that being a cat dad was kinda gay. Then some furry thing showed up at my house and I felt I just coudn't leave it living on the street. Said furry thing is sitting in my lap right now. And I don't feel gay at all. Well, maybe a little, but she's here to stay.

This is pretty much what happen to me, when I met my first kitten. He is a big boy now, but I'll always remember he could fit in my shirt pocket.
