The versions are not a lot different. I don’t think Triumph’s is much slower at all. But I gotta give the edge to Joe. Vocals and the bluesier feel are what set it apart for me.

Joe Walsh is the best. Love everything he has and will do. And he’s got his life in order now for many years! You got to respect Joe. Love his music❤️💞

Triumph's version of "Rocky Mountain Way" is way better than Joe Walsh's. Triumph's rendition doesn't have that gimmicky voice box solo. The voice box version slows downs the momentum of the song. Triumph's cover is a straight ahead rocker

As much as l enjoy the music of Triumph, you just can't compete with a rock icon like Joe Walsh and his original version. Walsh's guitar work is legendary and his voice just adds more to Rock Mountain Way.
