Steve Blake was one of my favorite Lakers. Kobe passed it to Steve in the corner in a crucial playoff game against OKC in 2012, and Steve missed it. Had he made it, that series could’ve been different. But to this day I’m living with that pass and shot. Steve was a damn dawg out there. Had all the trust in the world in him on both sides of the ball
I remember that game, poor Steve Blake had death threats on him and his family. As a Laker fan it’s sucked he missed it, but in no way is it ok to threaten him and his family. 🤦🏻♂️
People forget that Steve Blake was the starting PG with Juan Dixon at SG at the University of MD when they won the NCAA Championship. He was about that life in Maryland and he was a dog on the court when he needed to be.....
Gil was the 1st player I’ve seen shoot a 3 and turn around before it went in with both arms raised up in the air like he knew it was good. He was special offensively. Then Steph did it and Nick Young failed miserably 🤣🤣🤣
Man gil was cash money glad I grew up in that era to see it live on tv bruh was the definition of getting a bucket when the game on the line in last few sec🔥🔥🔥
If it wasn’t for injury Gil would’ve definitely had a HOF career! To think he was drafted at time when several of the top 75 players were hitting there prime. During that time he made 3 straight all star teams and made all NBA 3 straight years. Dude was the real deal
Mannn you just know Pat Bev absolutely LOVES people who talk shit to him. His face started shining when Gil talked about Chucky Atkins. No wonder he and Russell Westbrook became good friends on the Lakers. That type of personality is so dope.
I remember that series where they beat Chicago I think to get to the 2nd round. And then everyone knew Miami with Wade and Shaq would beat them but still was great to get that far.
Steve Blake Univ of maryland.....go terps....people underestimated steve cuz he was white....that man was tough/heart and soul....and he played on the best prep hs team in the nation! Very Underrated!
@@zojax1125 not talking about the duke/md rivalry .......of course he was underestimated in high school and the nba.....stop being naive like it's not a thing.... You probably think POC aren't discriminated against either....get your head out of the sand fool?!
Lol I laughed so hard. Gil career high for a season is 29 points a game. Mike topped that like 10 seasons lol and K 4:38 Kobe/James Harden put up 35 a game. Pat just talking crazy at this point.
@@elbowgang9715ahhh he’s talking about like a 2 month stretch where Gil was going crazy. He gave Kobe 61.. Y’all obviously never saw it live. Gil was the one of the orginal scoring PGs. Ahead of his time.
@@niqowyddefense is a skill lol its levels to this, Gil was that mf wit the rock im a basketball fan Gil was a killer lol but Kobe would guard up just as much as he would light up that takes tremendous effort and energy, most of Gil energy was on offense
@@47hundo86 Gil dropped a 50 bomb on Kobe’s head, averaging 30 > perimeter defense. That’s what Caron Butler and Deshawn Stevenson were next to Gil for

LOLOLOL, PBEV was getting hyped up hearing about Blake telling em, "65 mil?". He was probably super hyped when he saw Jokim Noah talkin to DBook when he was questioning a double team in practice
Sick of hearing Harden in Houston thrown into these great scoring runs. He abused the rules, would throw himself into defenders and hook their arm. By doing this he shot a ridiculous amount of free throws. Once the NBA changed the rules and wouldn't allow Harden to do this crap anymore he fell off big time. He should never be mentioned with Jordan and Kobe. Those guys actually won and sustained their excellence over a decade+ while Harden had 5 seasons of abusing the rules, fell off, and has never made it to the Finals even one time.
