I love the fact that the jade wants everything tidy and clean and then hires the one chef in the canon that literally burns bacon for a living.

I love the fact that gildeguy took a look at some random dude with a bandana or something and said "Yeah, that's a good target for me to beat up' during his Destroy everything phase.

3:02: With the information that his dad has gold creation/ferrokinesis, it seems like Gildedguy has a little bit of the control half of the power. He can pull his armor back together once he focuses, and he can improve it's durability. It also probably helps make it lighter for him, so he can move without being over encumbered by the weight and can still use that weight to and more force behind his attacks. It can absorb some properties of attacks, like heat and lightning, giving his attacks that effect. And as seen in the fight with Oxob, energizing the armor also energizes Gild, which appears to amplify all of the above properties. The main weaknesses seem to be; he can't control gold that's been broken off his armor, so it can be worn down; acquiring gold to maintain the armor is difficult given the value of the metal, and he can't use other metals; and he can only make the armor so tough, as it can still be broken even if he's completly focused. Just adding the detail of the dad's power adds so much to his son's armor choice.

Gonna point out, given his sheltered life and being constrained by his father, kinda explains why he was a jerk here, and we later see in his fight with Bog he feels guilty about making Jade cry.

This is the first time I have seen these animations. The animations themselves are amazing, of course, but what I love the most is that the music perfectly matches the animation. Everything's on beat, the walking, running, the hits. It's so cool.

Now after watching Story 8 and the origin story I realized something: This whole process of GG’s journey wasn’t only just a live watching of his story but an artistic redrawing from his perspective. I think it adds some cool perspective that over the years he not only becomes a skilled and renowned fighter but also his drawing skills increase. And to think that it mirrors Micheal himself the artist and creator behind GG’s stories. Well done Micheal and congrats to 8 years of making beautiful and rich stories.

I remember watching this when it first came out and having no idea what it was about or who the characters were but thinking it looked really cool. That was when i was in fifth grade and now I’m a sophomore in college 😭🫶

I'm seven years late to say anything here, but I think part of why gilded was being such a prick here was that, he didn't really have any sense of morality, but was very alive and energetic, which made his general fun having a bit aggressive. He only really started with morality after his existential crisis after the bog fight.

I can't believe I watched this 3 years ago to see it became 7 years old now.

Now made prominent in Gildedguy vs Oxob, Gildedguy's equipment seems to conduct and resist most energy quite well. Even his cape survived being ignited and appeared to reshape itself, his sword was able to stay ablaze for some time without any appearant fuel, and the gauntlets allow Oxob to shoot his lightning at specific targets.

Anyone else feel like Jade wasn't tearing up at the end of the fight because she lost but instead was tearing up because her leg was resting on a hotplate.

Also there is the part after that when he gets up and jumps side to side blocking and then walking out of that explotion walking was pretty cool

So let me get this straight, he lost to jade, then he went back, and beat her, in front of her clan, inside of her own house. That is legitimately humiliating.

The fullbody method is completely different from Dracko or others that animate frame by frame. U're master of tween, and wordless story telling. Those who dislike must be earns a large cash for doing so
