Alcides has got a massive pair on him to say that to Gil's face. Although I think he said later that he intentionally tried to piss Gil off and make him sloppy so he would be easier to fight. A level-headed Gil would be a far more dangerous opponent. Though I might be remembering wrong.

Actually, given that Alcides lacks any sort of Divinity himself after casting it away, Enkidu would be less effective than on his Berserker self. They would just be regular chains to him.

@@ercterburn1053 Not really. Enkidu's 'weakness' is that when pit against a target that lacks any Divinity within them, they are no different to any other magical chain. Siegfried or Mordred would effortlessly escape Enkidu because neither has Divinity. Same with Alcides. Hippolyta would get wrecked by Enkidu tho, because she DOES have Divinity.

Al is truly Heracles, not a False Variaton, Alcides was his name before being forced into madness by Hera. His situation forced to invoke his former name. His skills while not under madness and disdain for the gods is why Gil views him highly among others.

Not actually true. That statement was not literal. It's likely just the fact those who reveal their True Names are typically at a disadvantage due one's legend being revealed and thus knowing a weakness. So, the sentence, "if you reveal your true name, you can't leave the battlefield" is prolly just an analogy saying that if you reveal your true name then you aren't leaving that battlefield cuz they are most likely dead or going to die cuz the enemy knows a possible weakness. Revealing a True Name doesn't force a person to stay where they are battling whatsoever.

Aside from Enkidu, Alcides/Herakles ability allow him to have a decent chance to defeat Gilgamesh. His first NP, King's Order is related to his 12 Labour legend. The first Labour for example allow him to use the Nimean Lion pelt which makes him able to repel everything in GoB since it protects him from weapons that are made by Humanity. So the only way for gil to properly damage him is to either use Ea or if he found something made by non human. His first NP also allowed him to summon beast from his legend. His second NP Nine Lives allow him to attack at insane speed, he can shoot hundreds of arrows or attack hundreds of time insanely fast. His third, Reincarnation Pandora allowed him to steal NP, even conceptual ones which is busted. While sure Gilgamesh is strong, he is by no means undefeatable. If freaking Shirou (along with Archer) was able to defeat him by taking advantage of his ego, then Herakles who have a way better ability would have a better chance to fight him directly. Rule of Type Moon : almost everything has a counter.

@@itsarin2166 I was mostly joking with that one, Shirou and Archer have basically a hard-counter to GoB, unless Gil pulls-out EA. I do think that Heracles can certainly give Gil a big run for his money, and the fight without interruption would push both to their limits, but I do think serious Gil would beat Heracles. The problem with how Gil is shown in most situations is how his, in my opinion, greatest strength is rarely ever shown, that being the sheer versatility of GoB. It contains every treasure of Mankind, basically the vast majority of Noble Phantasms, I do think that he could have something, or many somethings that counter specific parts of King's Order, but that would require writers to do smth with Gil that isn't "spam regular weapons from GoB and pull out EA when serious", and that's rather rare lol.

@@IchigoShinagami at the end Gil definietly could win, but yeah that depends on how he uses his Noble Phantasm such as GoB, he rarely use any of his NP to the fullest. Though if Strange Fake gil is anything close to Kaleid Gil when it came to GoB, then Heracles would be a none issue, damn Kaleid Gilgamesh GoB has so much divine objects aside from Ea it's ridiculous. just to name a few he has divine NP/objects such as Ig Alima, Sul Sagana and Hades Cap.

@@itsarin2166 I mean, Gil's sheer bullshit versatility is his greatest asset, he has anything and everything in GoB, I certainly think that there could even be things there that could pierce the Hide of the Nemean Lion, either through being not of Humanity, or having some other property that pierces through (smth similar to Medea's Rule Breaker, or considering Fate, literally a spear that has the concept of "piercing everything", or just smth that is "stronger" than the Hide, since stronger Mystery overwhelms a weaker one), the problem is that the versatility is rarely touched upon, I understand not wanting smth to look like an asspull, but Gilgamesh is literally one of the rare characters for who saying: "I have a weapon that counters every single one of your abilities perfectly" makes sense and does not look like an asspull.

@@morgansboobies in fairness, aren't the conditions of reecarnation Pandora unspecified? Evidently there must be some or he would have used it every battle (didn't he only use it once against Jack the Ripper?). Regardless, Gil wins even without Ea, although Alcides is a beast.

When Gilgamesh originally made his appearance in Fate/Stay Night, Nasu didn't give two shits about the historical/mythological character that he was supposed to represent and by Nasu's own admission, only wanted to use him as a convenient villain. So all those extra powers and abilities comes from Nasu just wanting to depict Gilgamesh as nothing more than an overpowered villain that the MC's needed to overcome and not because Gil was Nasu's favorite or something. It's only later Fate works that developed and fleshed out Gilgamesh's character to be what it is now. Also, while Gilgamesh did get buffed in a lot of aspects in Fate, he also got nerfed in a lot of others (for example, Gilgamesh, in the original epic was basically Hercules 2.0 when it came to brute strength)

As in how strong is he? Very obviously a top-tier Servant, as seen above when he easily held his own against TWO demigod Servants at once. One of which was Gilgamesh. I'd say he has an actually good chance of killing Gil ON HIS OWN, which is impressive as shit, especially considering this version of Herakles doesn't even have Godhand.

Gilgamesh is a complex person who mood changes with the environment and company around him. As someone 2/3s god who was created as a keystone for the gods gilgamesh he sees more then the humans who look up to him and the gods who look down to him. Also as one of mankind’s oldest stories he is also seen as a foundation for all hero’s with his story of pride, friendship, despair, revelation, and humility. As prideful as he is his mood changes with his environment. During his time gilgamesh is the most civil with his people who he sees with value as they were productive souls who lived life everyday with purpose and vigor. Because of their hard work he saw them as his treasure especially since he knew his people will carry the will of mankind on their backs to the future. In modern times gilgamesh was disgusted due to our excess and overpopulation he saw more bad in humanity then good which is why in most cases he sees the best course for humanity is a global reset. This also applies to the company around him. With people with hard work and respect like wavier and tine he is able to commend their character, to suck ups like Gilgamesh’s first SF master and rins father he looked upon them with disgust for their arrogance, and with fellow kings he can be conversation depending on his impression of them from being obstinate to Hippolyta to friendly with ozymandius. Overall gilgamesh as the observer of humanity must be compassionate enough to guide humanity but also prideful enough so one day humanity could live on without him so they could stand on their own two feet as his people did when Uruk eventually collapsed. He is beyond both humans and gods due to his unique position and mood changes with the surrounds around him. He may speak down to humanity but only because of his high expectations for humanities potential and is in a better mood when he can see that potential take shape and sours when he sees humanity decline and decay.

Gate of Babylon is pretty cool to me, one of the best Fictional powers I've seen in my opinion, the fact that it can shoot out entirely unique Magical Weapons when ever it's used is insane and I loved how Fate: Zero, Stay/Night and surprisingly enough the Prisma illya anime show this, with every single weapon from His portals being Completely Different and the Characters just being shocked at how someone can have so many Weapons when Top Class Heroic Spirits only have 2 at most, like who needs guns when you have that kind of Power😂😂😂

@@HonkaiDaily It´s cool in concept but I feel it´s wastted. I havent watched the ilya stuff cause that is not my cup of tea, but GoB usually acts as gatling gun and he only fires weapons out there. If he were to actually summon these weapons and use them or show their effects like Unlimited Blade works does with some weapons then I´d get behind it, but we ususally see him rapid firing weapons, summon his chains or use ea.
