This old 'Bon Bon ' hasn't ever been played better. If the person uploading these recordings has all of Gillian Weir's recordings then please , please put us out of our misery and upload everything you've got , PLEASE!

Gillian is the 'Mistress' of the organ and... she OWNS this piece in this recording. Sadly, she's playing on an organ that is beyond abrasive in sound. If I had to listen to this organ every sunday, I wouldn't go to church either.

Every Rieger I've ever heard has this same grating "raw" sound. I really enjoy a good spicy reed somehwere in the ensemble, but EVERYTHING on these Riegers sounds equally unpleasant and jarring to me.

Have you considered that perhaps the piece itself has an abrasive and aggressive nature? I hear nothing overly abrasive in this recording.

It's found everywhere in the music world (especially in classical music and academia). You have the people who hate on Wynton Marsalis solely because he does both jazz and classical. You have the people who hate on various styles of organ building because they learned on an instrument in a different style. They're the trolls of the musical world.
