wow ! the whole seizure risk / medication is really good information a lot of times we don't consider these type of risk when looking into these type of products, I was looking at your video to research how this could help with autism glad to have caught this video .
1# never listen to a doctor about herbs. The Bible says God's gave the plants for man's healing. Every time a person went to a doctor in the Bible. This happened. 1. They got worst 2. They spent all there money. 3. They died.
@@ayashyachad4419 It sounded to me like there were certain conditions and populations where it could have a positive effect, so for certain people it might be beneficial.
NIH is interested in promoting pharmaceuticals as that is how they make money so of course they are not going to find ginko helpful in any way as you can't patent it.
I think that all the research you have mentioned shows that: Their data is inconsistent or biass. Here on one side you supporting data that memory/ cognitive functions of the brain benefited from taking G.B then you have another group with opposite results. I have taken it when I was studying and I did notice my memory to be more clear, I was able to memorize more info compared to when I didnt take it. It really depends on the individual/s who are taking it.
Another doctor mentioned that Ginko Biloba is most effective in healthy individuals. Unfortunately, the standard American diet isn’t healthy. Thankfully, more people are finding this out.
I originally looked at Ginko for memory enhancement. But I also struggle with mild anxiety and PMS, and tinnitus. so for a combination of things, even if I get a small improvement I think it’s worth giving a shot! Thank you for your informed report!! I mostly appreciated your brand recommendation 😃
@@angelicallamas8788 I’ve been taking it for a couple months now and it’s only now that you left this msg did I think about it helping tinnitus symptoms. I haven’t thought about it cause I haven’t really had any ringing in the ears for several weeks now. A few times Maybe, Which is a big improvement since id be getting it almost daily. Not sure if it’s specifically due to the ginkgo but I’m not doing anything else for it so it might be worth a try. Good luck 😌
I am quite disappointed that you didn't talk about how much mg should one take. That was one of the main things a neurologist should talk about. All other things are commonly summarized on various websites.
Who specifically funded each of these studies? Who exactly conducted these studies? And which Gingko supplement was used? What does ‘Gingko Extract’ mean exactly. Please explain. There are MANY different Gingko supplements on the market. Most are made of the leaves only, not an extract. And of course not all Gingko Extracts are the same. What percentage of Flavone Glycosides and what percentage Terpene Lactones? Inquiring minds want to know!
The only living thing that survived the blast in Hiroshima. And the inspiration for a great poem by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe called , simply , Ginkgo Biloba. A tremendous poem about unity and harmony
For a while now I’ve been doubting the benefits of Ginko. Memory is a muscle. If you’re testing a drug, and then you have those test subjects exercise their brain, you can’t tell if it’s the drug or simply the individual’s brain power itself.
My understanding is that it improves not only blood flow, but blood flow in the brain. This can be very helpful for those with atrophied areas of the brain and/or small blood vessel disease. Healthy brains with sufficient blood flow may not notice much difference in brain health. I've seen no research that indicates actual direct evidence of ginko biloba affecting neurons one way or another. If you could do a video on brain blood flow and ginko, that'd be awesome!
After doing some research on how to heal my brain( I have a neurological condition) I saw a video recently a video where a doctor said the healthiest brains he ever saw were of patients taking ginkgo supplements.
Good evening, thank you for your video regarding Gingko Biloba. I have now procured the sub-element and will take it for a month starting tomorrow in order to be able to assess the functions and positive influences of the sub-element. But now I have a question, can you take a green tea with Gingko Biloba, will it really support the blood stimulation of the brain positively? Should you have eaten something before taking the extract, or rather after? For example, if you do yoga exercises for personal balance, this could be convergent with the Gingko Biloba. Respectively, should one use only one method, either Gingko Biloba or Yoga exercises? Finalizing, has the supplement from your experience really proven to be helpful? At the moment I often have the problem that my concentration is decreasing and I don't feel as vital as I did a year ago, for example. I would appreciate a well-founded answer. TIA
I'd be very interested to know who paid for the studies. If big pharma paid, their motives could have been to debunk ginkgo biloba. If growers and marketers of ginkgo paid, their interests would have been focused on the plant's positive effects. It's telling that when Schwab tested ginkgo, they found that an EXTRACT, which is patentable and therefore potentially profit generating, was effective.
Excellent comprehensive review. Some people commented on my videos about this being prescribed to them for memory loss which is associated with epilepsy. Unfortunately it is not safe in epilepsy and does interact with the antiseizure medications..
Can you make a video about the use of psilocybin (and other psychedelics) related to cognitive improvement and decrease in symptoms of mental illness ? More specifically about micro a d macrodosing psilocybin ?
Micrososing psilocybin is a powerful antidepressant and even helps with ideological depression but it can make schizophrenia and bipolar worse, hallucinogens and stimulants are generally bad for mental ilness
How many people did they test for cognitive improvement and dementia? I appreciate your video. Love your presentation, awesome video. However, one has every right to question the validity of pharmaceutical companies' testing and studies. Especially given the history of misinformation and withholding beneficial, medical info from us since the beginning of time.
Neck misalignments are seriously overlooked cause of brain fog, memory issues, vertigo, tinnitus and nerve issues With everyone of being so glued to their phones many people are suffering from something called an atlas subluxation, it would be very nice if you could make a video raising awareness of this issue because I am for certain that many neurologists are being flooded with patients suffering from neck misalignment

Well... not quite accurate... in romania we have this three , one that I remember had/has almost 200 years ... Europe has it also... rare, but they have it...
Yea, that's the question.. You don't even know what studies to trust anymore since any of them may be funded and directed into a direction, to create results that will deter people from adding a certain substance it into their diet or lifestyles... like what they did with saturated fats, creating fake studies demonizing saturated fats telling people that it causes heart attack, whereas in reality, lack of saturated fats is hugely important, and most people find their body is at greatest balance when most of their calories come from fats, and the rest from moderate amounts of protein, and low carb.
Of course the pharmaceutical company that’s making their own Ginkgo product is going to give it positive feedback. Especially for younger adults, makes sense.
Thank You Neurogal MD for Your excellent videos touching interesting subjects and explaining them very clearly. Two inspirations for new videos I would have- please feel free to skip it if it stresses You: 1. Amino acids and brain/neurotransmitters 2. How to detox the brain, specifically. Is there any research for this?- I hope not to disturb You with these my ideas- I simply appreciate Your videos very much. Thanks ...🚴🏻
Can you (or someone else) tell me how exactly ginkgo biloba works on the brain? Does it simply enhance blood flow? Does it work on specific areas or neurotransmitters?
My mother is an ischaemic stroke patient. Her age 75. She has diabetes and hypertension. She lost some memories. Can she use ginkgo biloba? Pls let me know.
RU-vid Jason Fung for reversing diabetes by fasting. Fix one thing at a time dude. Keep it simple. Lifestyle changes is the single most important "antidote". But fixing something that you broke isn't simple, takes a lot of work. Get off your lazy ass, son.
Hey do you think you can do a video on concussions ,the affects and possible recovery methods of PCS I have 10 concussions and it’s really hurt my brain I would really like to see what information a neurologist such as your self could provide 😊
cannot elaborate further, not enough science in me to explain, personally, i am confused also. maybe doctor neurogal can further research on this and post a video about it.
I never understand these kinds of reviews when there are cultures all around the world that have used Ginko Biloba for thousands of years. Plus, when a "trial' is negative, it seems like they are primarily done in the US where big pharma (Merk, J&J, Pfizer, etc) has a strong interest in making sure that "pre-emptive" treatments do not take root as their whole business model is based on treating someone AFTER they acquire an issue and NEVER before....makes these studies suspect IMHO
Most researchers didn't evaluate the diet with taking Ginkgo. If you have a crapy diet of course you won't see any results. So I think research can be very complicated because you just cannot follow of what the patient does in a day.
This was informative AND.... even entertaining considering the presenter. Having said that, would you consider producing a piece referencing telomeres? Thank you in advance and let me tell you how AWESOME it is seeing you now doing these very high level talks. You should give TED a call.
What’s your name? It bothers me when I can’t look up a medical doctor by its real name. No offense, I’m sure you credentials are sky high and that’s why I’m interested.
Today, I took Ginkgo for the first time and started to feel sleepy. I'm going to continue taking it and monitoring it. However, any thoughts on Ginko combined with vyvanse?
Glen : I initially started on Adderall.. used for a yr 1/2.. toward the end it turned from a stimulant to taking me down... eventually switched to vyvance.. started out well,, but again,, eventually turned counter productive. I decided to learn and follow up on mushroom capsules.. ( don't knock it til you try it ) About 2 months ago, I haven't the foggiest idea WHY I decided to try Ginko Blba.. OMFG.. I haven't felt this kind of normalcy in a Looonnng time.. I can follow up on products if ur interested
@@byrde4329 good morning byrd from New Hampshire.. I guess a better way to put my last comment is 'More Present..in the Now. I have made a current change recently.. You need to look up on Amazon Host Defense Myco Botanical Brain'. There's Ginko in the ingredients, and I've found 120mg seems to be the most common denominator. 2 pills a day (same time ) . 1 thing i didn't mention earlier... as far as 'mood is concerned, I HIGHLY ( can't stress enough ) recommend looking into 'Earthing Bands.. I've been literally been laughed at way more than I care to admit. Only 1 person bit my bait and couldn't be happier ! I've been wearing it every night to bed around my ankle for now over 3 yrs. Its not an instantaneous fix,, but benefits can start to happen within 2 weeks.. Definitely affordable on Amazon. I've done a shitload of trial and error, and I truly hope this can steer you in the right direction. - Best - Dan
Hey Dr, my doctor won’t prescribe benzodiazepines for my FND despite the fact that it’s effective in stopping my seizures. Other medications (beta-blockers, Alpha 2 agonists etc) have made things worse when I took them. Can u recommend certain supplements/adaptogens that may help for my condition?
I think the contradictory results of the studies are due to the fact that ginkgo only has a minor effect. The funding of the study is also likely to have an impact on the results. Overall, a patient will probably not notice any improvement.
I wish that people have a conscience and God fearing and speak the truth so people will get awareness some of them you feel like they are getting paid to sells products especially vitamins because growing sales every year by billions

They say restless legs comes from a magnesium deficiency. Restless legs can’t relax, magnesium relaxes nervous system and muscles. Try magnesium biglycinate. Best absorbing form with lowest side effects. You can also try a b-50 complex as sometimes it’s from b vitamin deficiency.
@@davidcardinal3654 correct I also believe clinical anxiety is a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium cured my RLS and my panic attacks. I also stay away from sugar and white flower products.
There are so many variables in studies, also who funds the studies, which you did not mention on all the studies....you're biased toward pharmaceuticals
Ginkgo increases circulation to the brain and this, obviously , affects cognitive ability. I am a man in my early 50s and have taken it for over five years , the results have been nothing short of miraculous. The cognitive and memory increase is very helpful with me being a writer. What you speak of has been proven beyond all doubt in clinical studies in Germany over a five year period. In Germany Ginkgo is now prescription only medication. Hopefully this won't be the case in other countries as I buy mine over the counter from health food stores. Combined with D.H.E.A the results are stupendous.
@@EllaKaer the research I did was done over ten years ago and it was then, so I assume things have changed. I'll look into that one. Danke fur das info
@@awingclaudinea.2400 Hello, Claudine, I don't know of the company you mention, so unfortunately am unable to give you my opinion on them.
