Prevagen should be taken off the market. My dad and step mom took it for years, all while my dad's dementia was on the rise. The money they wasted and the time they lost makes me mad AF..
Wait a minute....NOW conducted the test and the only brand that passed was their own? Skepticism here. AND the next problem statement was that they tested ALL the brands sold on Amazon? AND they ALL failed. Highly unlikely.
I am looking at this b/c my father had a mild stroke. Would not pass FDA scrutiny based on what is said here. As far as acid stomach destruction if there is a reliable invitro assay, which was not clear in this presentation as it was not described in any detail, then one could pretreat the product with doses of HCl (stomach acid), neutralize then do assay.
PhD in pharmacology and professor at a medical school here. I've published a LOT of papers on calcium signaling. Impossible to believe this stuff would cross the blood brain barrier. Impossible to believe it would be significantly taken into neurons where it's calcium buffering effects would take place. Hard to believe it is not digested in stomach. Without placebo control and blinding those fwo "studies" are not worth much. In the one that did have some "significant" effect, how were the patients randomized? Was there inherent bias? It sure looks lime it. This could never be published. My impression: Save your money.
I purchased Webber’s Naturals Ashwagandha, 7200 mg!!! Have taken it for a few days without any drama but after doing research that amount seems seriously suspect and a query to the mfg got no response! Anyone?
A placebo can be a powerful thing. However, there is no reason to believe the claims of supplement makers, an unregulated industry. They play upon people's fears and their desire for quick fixes, of which there are none. Caring for your brain is a lifetime endeavor, doing the things we already know to work. Exercise, restful sleep, a good diet, keeping your brain engaged and actively learning new things, and maintaining healthy social connections with people who care about you. You cannot get your vegetables from a pill or heal your brain with this product. Save up your money for an exercise bike and use it daily.
🎊 I always thought it was bizarre that Prevagen claimed to enhance memory and that its active ingredient came from a jellyfish…a creature WITHOUT a brain!!! Love your analysis and presentation.
I have an interesting insight having worked for one of these companies. All the data is crap. The private equity firms behind these supplements just pay for fake studies
This is the first reaction video I've seen that actually acknowledges the most important fact about this whole song and theme. "Good" does not triumph evil. It exists with it. It NEEDS it, even. Think about it in the simplest terms possible. How do we measure "good?" You can't unless you know what the opposite is. In this video I love how the shadow figure is so aggressive in the beginning. It's like it knows Ren needs him to be his best. And does he? Well, are we watching this video if he doesn't? It also reminds me of Anakin Skywalker when he was being tempted into harnessing the dark side. The benefits of chaos and that part of your life can be enormous, but left untempered and unchecked, they can be a huge problem.
Well my main problem with it is that it is bioluminescent in the animal,... Now if it emits light in the animal that means it is reverse excitable while it's inside you!... Watch out!
The problem is the isles and isles of modified food available on supermarket shelves. Also the easy fast food outlets. The older generation of the 1800's to mid 1900's only ate meat, dairy and vegetables and they lived much healthier and longer than today's generation consuming frankenstein factory food.
Wouldn't magnesium work even better? Magnesium El-Thionate has been proven to cross the blood-brain barrier and is said to be an aid to prevent dementia, and magnesium glycinate has been proven to improve mood swings

By marketing drugs as supplements, they only have to show safety, not efficacy, in order to get FDA approval. Always be skeptical on the claims made by supplements.
You say that a diet of organic food might be more helpful than this pill. Can you provide evidence-based support for that statement? The US National Institutes of Health state "The current evidence base does not allow a definitive statement on the health benefits of organic dietary intake."

Thank you for your wonderful reports. I sent the Prevagen to my sister, who takes Prevagen. I am going to try 125 mg of Magnesium to see if there is any effect. I am sure you eat a very good diet and yet were deficient. That may be true for me. Thanks again
