The dress girly, I think she should stand on her decision… you are not obligated to keep or wear a gift which seems not made for you. She is not wrong and tbh it revealed that they are kinda hostile.
In no way was she wrong for retuning that dress. Not only do they barely acknowledge this girl, they don't put effort into getting to know her and didn't put effort in getting her a geninue gift. A possibly not even new gift?
As a fellow Rebecca here I just want to say i can finally understand how the Sarah’s and Brian’s feel because hearing you girls repeatedly call out my name in a story I don’t know, makes me think i had a part to play in a dilemma I’ve never even heard of before, it’s brilliant thank you
The dress situation seems like they were taking the piss out of her and making a joke :( she shouldn’t feel guilty at all it’s on them to not put any thought into it at all? Nasty vibes
nah kids at the wedding reception is the WORST - especially the later bit. went to a friend’s wedding and there were 8-10 kids running around on the dance floor all evening. they danced DURING the first dance. kids left around 11ish and were crying from tiredness, it was not the vibe and none of the adults actually got to dance bc the kids were in the way..
the situation with the dress. I would have done the same thing, considering if that was my future in laws, I would have said, hey look thankyou for the dress but it just doesn't fit. its a lovely thought but I am OK. she is not wrong for giving it back. I think the mother and daughter SHOULD have been way more thoughtful and nicer about the whole thing. it seems iffy with me, and my gut is just telling me NO - and the fact they didn't reply is just so RUDE. idk I just get really odd vibes from the in-laws, weird intentions from them. so I hope the girl who wrote in is OK xx
Girls you need to get yourselves to the Everyman cinema!!!! Cocktails, proper food, cookie dough all delivered to your seat... Which is a sofa!!!! Get down there now!! ❤
sorry the girl who received the dress in the wrong size from her in-laws needs to gain some self-awareness. there's a lack of thoughtfulness all round. its deffo not something to question her whole relationship over 🤣🤣wth
Had my niece and nephews then their godmother who’s parents lived near the venue stayed in my city that weekend and came to collect them. Worked beautifully. All other kids were not welcome 😂
Maybe the girl wanted that room with the clothes in and is wearing them to annoy the sister in law so she will take the clothes out and then she can use it
I definitely don’t think she should feel bad for giving the dress back. I don’t agree that all gifts should be returned simply because you don’t like or won’t use it but this particular gift sounded like either an afterthought or a bit of a joke. I think by returning the gift she’s established some healthy boundaries and let her partners family know that she won’t put up with this. Maybe it was an innocent mistake but the choice of dress size didn’t make the recipient feel great and I think she had every right to let them know. I think it’s absolutely fine to have sent the gift back because it would be awful if she had to constantly put up with insulting gifts simply because she never said anything.
Girls I love the pod! 🩷 I basically listen every day now, as I’m catching up with the Patreon episodes. I don’t mean any hate to you, but the last dilemma seems unrealistic. Two people being so bold on Christmas Day?? I think it would be great if you decided to verify some of the crazier, unrealistic stories like this one or a recent one about two proposals that was like a Colleen Hoover’s book. Screenshots of messages with date and time stamps, photos, anything, of course just for you to verify and still keep the writer anonymous. I know if I wanted to send in a dilemma and my life was legit like a movie, I wouldn’t mind proving it somehow! All the best from Poland 🇵🇱
I also ruined my parents wedding by sulking the whole day there’s a clip of my mum telling me off in the wedding video 😢😂 they did get divorced tho so maybe it was a sign not to get married
As a teen my sister would alawys steal my clothes. She would go out and not wash them after and they would reak of cigarettes. And my mum would think I was smoking! So eventually I put a lock on my wardrobe🤣 problem solved
As a fat woman whose grandmother is a nutbag (aka nutbag mother in law) I totally think the first dilemma was a power play. Designed to make her feel self conscious about the way she looks and send the message that they do not improve. Likely they're jealous but who knows the logic
Loved this episode as always🩷🩷However there were so many adverts throughout (at least 5), which was quite distracting. Was this the same for anyone else?
Other point of view!!- I used to ‘steal’ (wear) my sister in laws clothes when she lived with us I was about 14 and she was 20!and she just reacted like a sister (is that my jumper??)😂 we were close though. Sometimes she used to say wow that suits you better than me you can keep it 😂 I just did it because I had no style and I thought she was so cool. If they aren’t close it’s quite weird tho 😂
